President Trump Is Doing All the Right Things to Make America Great Again, and His 63 Million Deplorables Are Sticking with Him
DEAR SARAH PALIN, we love you, we respect your efforts to defend an America under seige, and we want you to know that you are welcome at our birthdays, baptisms, weddings, and funerals -- in fact, if you're in the nighborhood, just drop by any time for an iced tea and a chat about America, because what you have to say is infinitely more insightful, gracious and inspiring than anything your former running mate or his family could possibly offer. • • • EXCLUDING SARAH PAILN. It may seem odd that I have reacted so negatively to everything surrounding the death of John McCain, including the man himself. The exclusion from his funeral of the one Republican who has never uttered an unkind word about the Senator hit me in a way that surprised even me. I had complaints about Governor Palin's presence on the 2008 GOP ticket. Most of them were about her inexperience and the fact that her state, Alaska, brought so few delegate votes to the convention that she was not a plus for McCain in the way that vice president running mates are expected to be. I thought at the time -- because I have never trusted John McCain's politics -- that he may have selected her, knowing she could cause him to lose the election, to get even with the conservative Reagan Republicans who preferred traditional American values to his own brand of liberal ones. She said silly things in 2008. She paid dearly in the Progressive media, with her name becoming almost a token for what the Progs called ignorant Republican politics. • But, how wrong the Progressives were. Sarah Palin bore up under the constant barrage of a cynical media to become the very essence of a gracious woman whose conservative values define her. When McCain wrote in his last book that selecting her was "a mistake," she labeled it
a "gut punch." In that same book, the Senator said he should have chosen his friend Senator Joe Lieberman -- a Democrat turned Independent. That should tell every conservative all they need to know about where John McCain's political agenda lay. Joe Lieberman is a lovely man, but in no way a conservative who would have represented the values Ronald Reagan fought so hard for as President. Lieberman, while supporting the war in Iran, something that fit McCain's military agenda perfectly, also was vehemently pro-abortion and had been Al Gore’s running mate in 2000, and he still tended to caucus with the Democrats on most issues. Even John McCain knew his advisors were right when they told him that kind of baggage in a running mate would almost certainly kill any chances the Republican ticket would have. • But, how graciously Sarah Palin showed her true Christian colors when she was excluded from Senator McCain's funeral. Her public comment is an example for anyone in politics to admire and try to emulate. Her Facebook statement read : "Today we lost an American original. Senator John McCain was a maverick and a fighter, never afraid to stand for his beliefs. John never took the easy path in life -- and through sacrifice and suffering he inspired others to serve something greater than self.John McCain was my friend. I will remember the good times. My family and I send prayers for Cindy and the McCain family.” • If that statement doesn't pull at your heartstrings, I suggest you see a cardiologist to find out if you actually have a heart. • • • WHY ARE CONSERVATIVES SO HATED? Could it be because Republican Presidents have usually presided over good economic times. They tend to be elected when the tax-and-spend policies of Democrat Presidents have so drained the nation's and its citizens' coffers that the pain is too severe to support for another four years. Everybody likes freebies -- and that is what Democrats have always promised. But, need we say again that there is no such thing as a freebie. And, eventually, Americans figure
that out. That they keep having to "figure it out' over and over again is an indication of the greed inherent in the human soul -- or
psyche, if you don't believe in souls. • And, right now, we are watching the almost magical touch of a Republican President whose
economic policies are turning America around faster -- I bet -- than even Donald Trump believed possible. Add to that the fact that
Trump early in the campaign began to collect an adoring following of Americans that Hillary would so foolishly call 'Deplorables."
Those 63 million or so American citizen-voters are still following their hero, and it means that almost any Democrat has to do double
duty in campaign spending and promising freebies to get elected to any office. Citizen-voters being hard to come by, Democrats have turned to noncitizen-voters. That's why they love open borders and march to the hate-music in George Soros' message that the only thing wrong with the world is that it is led by America. How can a party that hates its own citizens and wants to debase their constitutional system and their votes by choking it with illegals ever hope to win the White House? That party -- the Democrat Party -- hopes to do it by buying the media -- literally. Soros and Silicon Valley have used their billions to buy up the entirety or large chunks of the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, NPR, Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, and Google. That is why these ProgDems are now screaming out against any regulation of online social media -- it will cut out the channel they are using to stuff their socialist message down America's throat. • And, President Trump's economc miracle just keeps on keeping on. Consumer confidence rose in August to its highest level since October 2000. The Conference Board's index rose to 133.4 in August, despite expectations from a survey of Reuters' economists that it would fall to 126.7. Consumers -- these are the Deplorables, the 63 million, and even a growing number in the Democrat-base, whose current economic conditions and prospects are better than they have been since 2000. What Democrat leader Nancy Pelosi likes to call "crumbs" are pay raises, jobs for everyone who wants one, and lower taxes as a reward for their work in Making America Great Again. Never mind NY Governor Cuomo -- America WAS great and President Trump IS making it Great Again. The latest NBC/WSJ poll gave Republicans a 14% lead on the economy, including an advantage over Democrats on the specific issue of taxes. How can Democrats expect voters to support their candidates when the Democrat Party wants to take away job-creating tax cuts and spend-spend-spend America back into massive tax bills to fund their government-by-economy-squelching-regulations and healthcare scheme, and other ProgDem policies -- like the latest, open border health care for the illegals who pour in. The economy grew at a staggering 4.2% annualized rate in the second quarter. It was delivered by Republican President Trump and his congressional supporters. • • • THE PROGDEM TRADE ANDTARIFF ATTACK HAS FAILED. Remember when, on election night 2016, Paul Krugman -- someone who is called an expert -- predicted economic disaster and called Trump and the businessmen he surrounded himself with as ignorant. Krugman supported Obama who gave us the slowest economic recovery in seventy years. On election night he showed just how much he is NOT an expert : "The disaster for America and the world has so many aspects that the economic ramifications are way down my list of things to fear. Still, I guess people want an answer: If the question is when markets will recover, a first-pass answer is never. Under any circumstances, putting an irresponsible, ignorant man who takes his advice from all the wrong people in charge of the nation with the world’s most important economy would be very bad news. What makes it especially bad right now, however, is the fundamentally fragile state much of the world is still in, eight years after the great financial crisis. So we are very probably looking at a global recession, with no end in sight. I suppose we could get lucky somehow. But on economics, as on everything else, a terrible
thing has just happened." Such chutzpah ranks right up there with Chamberlain at Munich promising he had secured "peace in our time." • The "ignorant" President Trump and his "wrong" advisors have now sealed a trade deal with Mexico. US and Mexican trade negotiators proved the naysayers wrong by striking a new deal replacing the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs Luis Videgaray Caso said Monday night on Fox News : “A lot of people thought that NAFTA would be over last year -- early last year -- and that there was no way to fix this relationship in a way that would be constructive to both sides,” Videgaray Caso said. “We proved them wrong through very disciplined, tenacious work and with a vision.” Canada, the third party in NAFTA, is now negotiating to join the USMTA. "Ignorant" Trump? Not so you'd notice. And, USMTA has caused China problems. It "strengthens the US position to play hardball with China," experts say. "There is, right now, no visible interest from the US administration in pursuing talks with China over trade, and there will likely not be either unless China proposes some far-reaching changes to issues such as intellectual property protection and forced technology transfer," the economists wrote. BUT, once again proving the Progressives and their media wrong, the deal with Mexico also showed that the US "is willing to concede" if the terms are right, which is a "good signal" to countries trying to negotiate with the Trump administration. Those countries could also learn from Mexico how to move from "a very complicated negotiation where no progress was being attained" to what "seems to be a good resolution for both parties." • Winning on deals like the USMTA requires confidence in your plan and ability to see the negotiation through. ProgDems and elite GOPers don't have that confidence because they have never been in a real-world negotiation of any kind. Trump knows what he is doing and he is an expert at delivering results. That is the unvarnished truth. • American Thinker's Veronika Kyrylenko explains it in terms of Globalization : "The pace of globalization is slowing down as it reaches its natural limits, and the central goal of the Trump administration now is to secure America’s global leadership. The core value of foreign and
domestic policies has once again become American national interests. Globalization, once considered a vital part of American global leadership, is now damages its interests and, thus, strengthens the positions of its competitors. As the Trump administration tries to counteract this negative trend, it implements a new economic plan...Trumponomics. The fundamental points of the plan are protectionism, America-centric foreign policy, repatriation of the national capital and manufacturing to the US, and acceleration of GDP growth through a new budget policy and investments into infrastructure. Naturally, this policy has its side effects, such as trade wars and growing frustration among the American allies." Kyrylenko says that "protectionism and repatriation of manufacturing jobs will negatively affect world trade and hurt American trade partners but, most importantly, will benefit the US in the long run as it is time to reestablish a healthy pragmatism in our policies. America will gradually expand its presence on the global market, but the expenses will rise, too, primarily on a national defense that is crucial for securing a military dominance. Naturally, part of these expenses will be transferred on NATO allies and satellite countries, which is exactly what is already happening." • • • TRUMP ALSO HAS TO NEGOTIATE WITH HIS OWN GOP. Senator David Perdue, a Georgia Republican, told Breitbart News on Tuesday that President Trump has clearly stated he will never sign a “last-minute, massive omnibus spending bill again” and charged that the US needs to build his proposed border wall. Senaor Perdue said : "When it comes to fully funding the federal government, the goal is to get the entire job done. President Trump was clear when he said he will never sign another last-minute, massive omnibus spending bill again. We pushed the US Senate to work through August to avoid another spending battle, and while we’re making progress, there’s a lot more to do. We need to enforce our laws. We need to stop sanctuary cities. We need to build the wall.” • President Trump's threat to shut down the government before or after the 2018 midterm elections has scared vulnerable red-state Senate Democrats face increasing pressure to support partially funding President Trump’s proposed border wall in the September spending bill. Democrat Senators Joe Donnelly (Indiana), Joe Manchin (West Virginia), and Heidi Heitkamp (Norht
Dakota) all say they will be open to increased border security and wall funding in the September spending bill. Other Senate Democrats facing difficult re-election races continue to face increasing pressure to back Trump’s partial wall funding next month. Montana Republicna state auditor Matt Rosendale now leads against Democrat Senator Jon Tester. Florida GOP Governor Rick Scott now beats Democrat Senator Bill Nelson in a recent poll, and multiple polls have Missouri's GOP Attorney General Josh Hawley beating Senator Claire McCaskill. • President Trump said at an August rally in Pennsylvania that he wants border wall funding or he will shut down the government : “Whether it’s before or after, we’re either getting it, or we’re closing down the government. We need border security.” • • • CONSERVATIVE ANGST. There are conservatives who have despaired of saving America without a second civil war. American Thinker's Richard Jack Rail on Thursday called it "the price of political schizophrenia." Rail says : "To read the MSM, you get the feeling that the President is on the very edge of being impeached and thrown out of office in disgrace. All of America but a handful of toothless white Nazis despise the man. The rest of the country is ready to stand up and, with one voice, scream guilty to whatever the New York Times pronounces him guilty of. In the more respectable media you find Trump and America happy. The economy has never been better, Hispanics and blacks are looking at Trump with new respect. This President really does know what he’s doing. Gradually America is returning to the country of hope and good cheer that attracts people worldwide as the president makes America great again." Instead of being uplifted by his own analysis, Rail says : "I think we all know that we’re headed for an armed clash, not because Trump supporters want it, but because the left refuses to accept
anything short of unconditional surrender in its war on America. The Love America side is willing to go halfway to keep the peace, but
the Hate America side won’t have it. The tension of the political schizophrenia is almost palpable." • But, Rail does make one
really important point : "The Love America side can’t compromise anymore and remain true to itself. Partly through negligence, partly
through laziness, partly for other reasons good and bad, we have allowed our country to be jerked so far from our Judeo-Christian roots that the Founders wouldn’t recognize the system they bequeathed us. Their Constitution is in tatters, their high principles mocked. Mostly what has kept us from totalitarianism are our inherited liberal traditions. Certainly, America has not functioned according to the Constitution the last forty years, arguably the last 100 years. Another thing that has also kept the totalitarians at bay : concern that things might run out of control. They want to advance their agenda as far as possible out of sight, so that we (most of us, anyway) won’t know for sure what’s going on until there’s no chance of stopping their takeover. Our uncertainty, our unwillingness to move against them without absolute proof, works to their advantage. We are inhibited by our own morality and dedication to Constitutional principle. Hence the screaming and screeching on the Left. Russian totalitarians did this in 1917, Italians in 1922 and Germans in 1933, so history shows what lies ahead. It’s the price of political schizophrenia in this day and age." • Jack Hellner takes another tack : "Even before Donald Trump won the election, the media were attacking his economic policies and saying that he wasn’t qualified to be President. As the good news on the economy pours in and he is winning on trade deals and other things, the attacks continue. Instead of reporting the good news the complicit media trots out Lanny Davis with fake news stories, Stormy Daniels, Omarosa (whom they couldn’t stand before) and anyone else willing to trash Trump. That is the only agenda. Twitter, Facebook, You Tube and Apple are blocking opposing thought as fast as they can....Most of the media tried to chase out Jared Kushner early on and certainly will not list his accomplishments but the Washington Examiner has done just that : 'NAFTA another win for Jared Kushner. President Trump’s secret weapon and son-in-law has struck again. Insiders say that Jared Kushner was key to nailing down the revision to the North American Free Trade Agreement announced Monday, working with US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, the Canadians, and especially Mexico's Foreign Minister Luis Videgaray. 'This is one of his most significant accomplishments,' said an administration official of Kushner....has been a top domestic and foreign policy advisor to the president since the 2016 election. He has been involved in several major agenda victories for the White House, among them the push for
prison reform, bringing jobs to the US from overseas, working up a Middle East peace timeline, nailing down the 2028 Summer Olympics, and securing soccer’s World Cup in North America in 2026. 'He has a close relationship with Mexico. It is just natural that he was brought into the NAFTA and other talks,' said the official, who added that Kushner has been working with US officials on NAFTA reforms for a year and a half." • Jared Kushner and Donald Trump Jr are both apparently under special counsel Robert Mueller's Deep State microscope. Richard Jack Rail could be right if either of these yound men are attacked by the anti-Trump cabal led by Rosenstein and Mueller at the direction of their ProgDem overlords. I can hear President Trump saying 'Bring them on.' And 63 million Americans would agree and follow. That is neither a threat nor an ironclad prediction. It is simply the logical obvious. President Trump has yanked the ProgDem wolves away from the doors of normal Americans. Why would he let those same wolves eat his family?? • • • DEAR READERS, Sarah Palin again came to mind as I was reading about President Trump's latest rally. She used to hold rallies like this, and she may even be his rally model. • If Thursday night's rally in Evansville, Indiana, is any indication, the Deplorables are not intimidated. They're having too much fun loving America. And they know very well that President Trump is the reason their love-in with America has become a public event. Cheryl K. Chumley wrote a review of the rally in the Washington Times on Friday, saying : "President Donald Trump’s rally in Evansville, Indiana, opened with a resounding, triumphant, glorious rendition of the national anthem. And that’s all it took -- the crowd was in love. He had them at “Oh say can you see.” Here’s something the left will never, ever get, no matter how hard it squints : Americans love America for what makes America great. The left, the Democrats and Progressives and antifa-types and socialist-minded, on the other hand, only love America for what they can exploit. Trump understands the difference, the very crucial difference. And so do patriotic Americans with a true heart for America, the very type of whom poured into Indiana’s arenas to hear their President speak. Following chants of 'USA, USA,' Trump told the crowd : 'Evansville, you are very, very special people and thank you, Indiana. Thank you.' And this : 'I know you well. You love our country, you’re proud of our history, and you always respect our great American flag.' More chants of 'USA.' And then this : 'We have the best economy in the history of our country. Factories are reopening, jobs are pouring back into the United States, we are putting your great Indiana coal
miners and steel workers back to work.' Let the Friday fact-checkers have at it. The thing is, though, Trump, like former President
Ronald Reagan, has a knack for raising the spirits of those who support him. The left goes angry; Trump goes positive. The left vows
impeachment; Trump goes a’campaignin.’ The left digs in on Russia and stories of fake collusion; Trump punches back and then makes his crowds cheer and remember why being an American is such a privileged, precious thing. Come election time, the left, with the help of the media, can scream all it wants about Trump this, Trump that, Russia this, impeach that. But thing is : Americans who are in the throes of loving their Americanism aren’t exactly cowed in a corner by the hit and hatchet jobs against this White House. They’re energized. They’re soaring on positive notes. They’re singing loudly and proudly the national anthem. And they’re not -- as the cheering throng of MAGA supporters in Indiana would indicate -- going to just stay home and listen in fright to the anti-Trump messages of the media and clever pollsters. They’re not taking knees and apologizing for the country. Trump hasn’t just tapped into election fever. He’s started a pro-America movement that’s shifted the mindset and hearts of scores of citizens. For the left, that’s going to be tough to beat at the ballot boxes." • When I feel beat up by events in Washington and the Deep State's cabal, I'm just going to pull out Cheryl's article and read it a couple times. There is nothing like some good old down-home truth. And, President Trump knows just how to share it with America.
