The Kavanaugh Hearing Circus : Vote Out These Brain-dead Fascist ProgDems at the First Opportunity
Posting early today; tomorrow we'll be back to normal times. • DEMOCRATS HAVE ABANDONED ALL PRETENSE OF CIVILITY. • • • JUDGE KAVANAUGH'S SENATE HEARINGS BEGIN. As we watched on Tuesday, while Senator Grassley was trying to chair a polite hearing to give DC Circuit Judge Brett Kavanaugh the opportunity to speak to the Senate Judiciary Committee and Americans about his views concerning the role of Supreme Court justices, Democrats didn't even permit Senator Grassley the courtesy of allowing him to finish his opening remarks.
The political circus began moments after Tuesday's kickoff, as Democrat "leaders" tried to disrupt and end the session with a rapid-
fire string of objections while protesters shouted and screamed from the audience. • • • EVERY PROTESTER HAD TO BE
INVITED BY A PROGDEM SENATOR.. The chaos led Republican Senator John Cornyn to remark, "This is the first confirmation hearing subject to mob rule." Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, a dignified Iowa Republican, was subjected to California's Democrat Senator Kamala Harris, who raised objections to the Committee just receiving a batch of 42,000 documents relating to the nominee's work with past administrations. Harris, a potential Democrat 2020 presidential wanabee, said : “We cannot possibly move forward." Grassley ruled her "out of order," but other Democrats chimed in to back up Harris, including Senator Richard Blumenthal, the Connecticut Democrat Fake Vietman Vet who often disrupts hearings with his extremely Progressive views, who moved to adjourn. The protestors in the hearing room applauded and touched off protests and shouting. Then, after New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, another 2020 wanabee, added his voice by complaining of a "rush," Grassley countered : “I think you are taking advantage of my decency and my integrity.” • "The Senate has more documents on Judge Kavanaugh's record than anyone else in the history of Supreme Court nominees," Senator Grassley had already told 'Fox & Friends.' Grassley called for “proper respect and decorum,” and then rejected the protests, saying there will be “plenty of opportunities” to respond to the Democrats’ complaints and said he would “proceed accordingly. "We have said for a long period of time that we were going to proceed on this very day and I think we ought to give the American people the opportunity to hear whether judge Kavanaugh should be on the
Supreme Court or not." • Texas GOP Senator John Cornyn suggested Democrats would be “held in contempt of court” if they behaved that way in a court of law, after accusing the Democrats of turning the hearing into “mob rule” : “We have rules in the Senate. We have norms for decorum. Everybody as you pointed out will get a chance to have their say.” Senator Grassley added : “This is something I've never gone through before in 15 Supreme Court nominations.” • A Capitol Police spokesman told Fox News they arrested roughly two dozen demonstrators who disrupted the Kavanaugh hearing. The spectacle underscored the political nature of the confirmation hearings, coming two months before the midterms and as some ProgDem Senators look toward a 2020 run. • Finally, Judge Kavanaugh had the chance to introduce his family : “I'm very honored to be here, honored to have my family here.” The unseemly spectacle Judge Kavanaugh's young daughters were subjected to should be a mark of shame for every Democrat in the Senate. And, Democrats contniued, countering Judge Kavanaugh's politeness by again trying to delay the hearing. • The plain truth is that Judge Kavanaugh has left one of the longest paper trails of any recent Supreme Court nominee, having served for more than a decade on the DC Circuit Court of Appeals and, before that, for five years as a lawyer in the White House Counsel's office in the George W. Bush administration. Kavanaugh also worked for independent counsel Ken Starr for three years during the probe that led to the impeachment of former President Bill Clinton. • Judge Kavanaugh's nomination will ultimately succeed or fail depending on a handful of swing-vote Senators, including vulnerable red-state Democrats and moderate pro-choice Republicans who have all said that they would withhold judgment on the nominee. Republicans command a narrow 50-49 Senate majority, which would return
to 51-49 once Republican Jon Kyl, the appointed successor to the late Senator John McCain is sworn in. Republicans have little margin for error, though Vice President Pence can break a tie. Republicans have said they hope to have Kavanaugh confirmed by a floor vote by early October, when the next Supreme Court term begins. • • • KAVANAUGH'S DEFINITION OF BEING A GOOD JUDGE RESONATES. In his opening statement, Judge Kavanaugh said : "A good judge must be an umpire -- a neutral and impartial arbiter who favors no litigant or policy. I don’t decide cases based on personal or policy preferences. I am not a pro-plaintiff or pro-defendant judge. I am not a pro-prosecution or pro-defense judge. I am a pro-law judge....If confirmed to the Court, I would be part of a Team of Nine, committed to deciding cases according to the Constitution and laws of the United States." • Fox News summed up the Democrat position, which is so ridiculous as to be indefensible : "Ahead of the hearings, Democrats have ratcheted up their rhetoric. Last month, Booker accused anyone who supports Kavanaugh of being 'complicit in evil.' Some Democrats, including Senator Bob Casey, of Pennsylvania, had rejected Trump's selection before they even knew who it was, predicting the nomination process would be a 'corrupt bargain with the far Right, big corporations, and Washington special interests.' • But, Kavanaugh has gathered increasing support from legal circles, former colleagues and Republican lawmakers. Grassley on Tuesday called Kavanaugh "one of the most qualified nominees -- if not the most qualified nominee -- I have seen.” And, as Chris Stirwalt of Fox News Halftime put it : "Not only will Kavanaugh likely be conformed, he will likely be confirmed with four or five votes to spare given the approving murmurs coming from some red-state Democrats. Unless someone finds an opinion he wrote in support of
putting peas in guacamole, this matter has been a moot point since July 9 when he was appointed." • • • WHAT ARE THE
DEMOCRATS DOING? IT'S CALLED FASCISM. The Epoch Times wrote on tuesday : "The interruptions, combined with shouting and screaming from hecklers in the audience, created a level of chaos that served to underscore the historical significance of Kavanaugh’s appointment and the effect his presence on the Court may have in the years to come." Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley kept his cool, being patient beyond what was required in the face of the fascist ProgDem attempt to shut down the constitutional process of consenting to presidential US Supreme Court nominees. And, President Trump weighed in on the cabal's rebellion, tweeting : “The Brett Kavanaugh hearings for the future Justice of the Supreme Court are truly a display of how mean, angry, and despicable the other side is. They will say anything, and are only looking to inflict pain and embarrassment to one of the most highly renowned jurists to ever appear before Congress. So sad to see!” • Americans are not used to fascist tactics in US politics. But, that is what the Kavanaugh spectacle was all about. Fascists -- think Mussoliini and Hitler -- do not want political debate or an honest airing of different opinions. Fascists want tryanny by an anointed elite. Fascists want to shut down anyone who disagrees with them, and their choice of tactics is what we saw on Tuesday -- shouting to prevent free speech and civil discourse, accusing the opposition of being 'undemocratic' and 'unjust,' and resorting to violence when the rest fails to stop their opponents. And, it wasn't only the protesters wiht their ProgDem entry tickets who used these fascist tactics -- although security personnel removed dozens of demonstrators from the room -- it was the ProgDems who hold the highest elective office in the US except for the presidency. Let that sink in. US Senators who espouse fascisttactics interrupted their Senate Judiciary Committee chairman,
continuously asked to have the proceedings adjourned, and raised continuous nonsensical points of order to disrupt the proceeding.
• American Thinker's Tom Trinko wrote on Wednesday : "Kavanaugh's 'problem,' in the eyes of Democrat leaders, is that he believes that the job of a judge is to interpret the law, including the Constitution, as it was intended by those who wrote it. That is, Kavanaugh believes that power comes from the people and it's the people, through their elected representatives, who define the laws under which the people are to live. Democrats, on the other hand, believe that judges should be able to create laws that the people are too 'stupid' to not endorse. Essentially, Democrat leaders believe that the Supreme Court should be a tyrannical institution that ignores the people and allows Democratic leaders to unconstitutionally impose their will." • Epoch Times says : "In total, the Democrats spoke out of turn and interrupted the hearing 63 times and complained about the withholding of documents 129 times, according to a tally kept by White House spokesperson Raj Shah. Grassley noted that despite his staff being available around the clock to help Democrats access records, not a single Democratic Senator showed up. Kavanaugh has produced more records to the committee than any other Supreme Court nominee in history, according to the chairman." • Texas Senator Ted Cruz understands what is going on : “The Democrats are focused on procedural issues because they don’t have substantive points strong enough to derail this nomination.” In an impassioned speech before the Judiciary Committee, Senator Cruz laid bare the motivations behind Democrats’ protest of the hearings, calling the Democrats’ tactics a “joke” : “So what is this fight about? If it’s not about documents or Judge Kavanaugh’s credentials or judicial record, what is this fight about? I believe this fight is nothing more and nothing less than an attempt by colleagues to relitigate the 2016 presidential election." Cruz said that voters took to the polls to replace Antonin Scalia on the Court during the 2016 election : “Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton were both clear about what kind of justices and judges they would appoint. Secretary Clinton’s answer was clear. She wanted a justice who would be a liberal Progressive willing to rewrite the Constitution. Willing to impose liberal policy agendas that she could not get through the democratic process and the Congress of the United States would not adopt -- that she hoped five unelected lawyers would force on the
American people. That’s what Hillary Clinton promised for her nominees. The American people made a choice that night. My Democratic colleagues are not happy with the choice of American people made, but as President Obama said, elections have consequences. The democratic obstruction is all about trying to reverse the election. Our colleagues want justices who will rubber stamp efforts like the Obama administration’s efforts litigating against the Little Sisters of the Poor. Litigating against Catholic nuns trying to force them to a pay for abortion-inducing drugs and others. That is a radical and extreme proposition. Democrats want to effectively erase the Second Amendment from the bill of rights -- It is what Hillary Clinton promised they would do and at the end of the day what this fight is about. We know that every Democratic member of this committee is going to vote ‘no.' We don’t have to speculate. They publicly announced they are voting ‘no.’ Doesn’t depend on what they read in documents and what Judge Kavanaugh says in this hearing.” Cruz concluded : “It is about Democratic Senators trying to relitigate the 2016 election and just as importantly, working to begin litigating the 2020 presidential election. We had an opportunity for the American people to speak and they did. They voted in 2016 and they wanted judges and justices who will be faithful to the Constitution.” • The ProgDems understand what it's all about, too, and that's why they're resorting to fascist tactics -- when confirmed, Kavanaugh is expected to move the Supreme Court -- which already has a conservative majority -- further to the conservative side, by deciding cases on the law and Constitution instead of on the current social and political whims of the Progressive mob. Senate Democratic leaders have vowed a fierce fight to try to block his confirmation, and their signals about their issues with Judge Kavanaugh show their colors -- abortion and gun rights. Judge Kavanaugh's opening statement hit the Progressive Democrat fascists hard -- by promising to actually judge cases based on the law : “I revere the Constitution. If confirmed to the Supreme Court, I will keep an open mind in every case. I will do equal right to the poor and to the rich.” Good-bye elites. Good-bye special interests. Good-bye social whims of the moment. Hello a serious reconsideration of Roe v. Wade. Hello a new respect for personal liberties. Hello a Constitution that is actually the basis of US jurisprudence. AND, hello to a vote on the Supreme Court that would constrain probes led by partisan special counsel against
sitting Presidents. In 2009, Kavanaugh wrote a law review article saying Presidents should be free from the distractions of civil
lawsuits, criminal prosecutions, and investigations while in office. That flies in the face of the Fake witch hunt of special counsel
Mueller whose probe is led by the ProgDem cabal out to destroy a duly elected President simply because he does not agree with their politics. • American Thinker's Patricia McCarthy wrote on Wednesday : "The spectacle of the Kavanaugh hearing Tuesday morning was a circus, planned and orchestrated by the usual suspects: Senators Durbin, Schumer, Blumenthal, Booker, Klobuchar, Harris (particularly ill behaved), Feinstein, Hirono, etc. Like seventh-graders planning to bully the nerdy kid, they were probably gleeful as they schemed to disrupt the proceedings by interrupting relentlessly. And then there were the shrieking protesters. It is hard to imagine sane people behaving like that in public, let alone in the halls of Congress and during judicial hearings. Still, for all the rudeness and disrespect, it was a wonderful thing to see. The American people, those who watched, cannot help but realize that the Democrats are the party of immaturity, of sheer childishness. Throwing tantrums is their best thing. Those who lectured and moralized the most are those least qualified to do so. Kamala Harris slept her way into California politics with Willie Brown. Cory Booker has imaginary friends he uses and abuses. When he speaks, it is pure blather. He makes no sense. Richard Blumenthal lied about having served in Vietnam. These are self-unaware people. They clearly have an exaggerated sense of their own intellectual capacity. And they don't listen." • But, concluded McCarthy : "In the end, they did those paying attention a favor. There can no longer be any doubt that the Democratic Party of today has moved to the far, far left. Democrats appear to loathe the country that has given them so much in the way of wealth and power. They really hate the half of the country that supports Trump, and they are loath to admit that Trump's support is growing. The more they act like crazed lunatics, the more people will continue to walk away from the party, and they are walking away. The more good Trump accomplishes re : the economy, national security, rebuilding the military, the more the left amps up its farcical attacks on our outsider President. He must be doing something right....The left never learns from its mistakes in its craven pandering to its deranged base. Those who were so rude yesterday are bound to be even ruder today. They will each have thirty minutes to grill Kavanaugh! The man sat through all that nonsense yesterday; he will likely be prepared for the lunacy of the left he will face today." • Since Trump was elected, Democrat leaders have been counting on tyrannical lower court judges to nullify the 2016 election by declaring that anything Trump does is “unconstitutional.” Without a tyrannical Progressive judiciary, Democrat leaders know that they'd have to actually convince people to embrace their socialist-marxist agenda, and they know that would be impossible. Tom Trinko put it this way : "Kavanaugh is no threat to any law, including the Constitution, passed by the people’s representatives through the democratic process. Kavanaugh will not make up any conservative leaning laws. There is absolutely no reason to say that Kavanaugh is unqualified for the Supreme Court." • • • DEMOCRATS ARE WAKING UP AND WALKING AWAY. On August 22, the Daily Signal of the Heritage Foundation wrote an article about Democrats leaving their party in droves. The #WalkAway Campaign Facebook group had gathered more than 172,000 members as of August 22. The Daily Signal said : "Two thousand years ago, St. Paul found himself blinded by a bright light on the road to Damascus. The dramatic experience led him to stop persecuting his opponents and to take up new beliefs. Today, many former leftists are taking their first steps on their own road to Damascus, and the right is not doing nearly enough to capitalize on this unprecedented mass exit from the left. It all began just a few short weeks ago when gay New York hairdresser Brandon Straka posted a hard-hitting video explaining why he is no longer a Democrat or a liberal. Since then, his #WalkAway Campaign Facebook group has attracted more than 172,000 members. A multitude of videos from other WalkAways have been posted online. Make no mistake, the left has been greatly rattled by all this. The left’s treatment of the #WalkAway Campaign mirrors the way it reacted to the Tea Party movement. First, it ignored it, hoping it would go away. Then it moved on to minimizing and attempting ridicule, which it has done with #WalkAway. Steven Colbert and others claimed that the #WalkAway Campaign is just run by Russian bots. Having seen that fail, the next step was to try to co-opt it with its own movement. Bill Scher wrote a piece in Politico inviting Republicans to become Democrats. The suggestion is that Never Trumpers should walk away from the GOP, get themselves elected as delegates to the 2020 Democratic National Convention, and thereby prevent the Democratic Party from going full-blown socialist." • Why do Democrats #WalkAway? Consider this -- Democrat-run Los Angeles now has 55,000 homeless people living on the streets -- 1,000 people in Democrat stronghold Chicago have been shot since Memorial Day -- ProgDems frequently denounce the armed services, law enforcement, and the American flag -- ProgDems and their fascist stormtroopers invariably use despicable methods to achieve their goals because winning is all that matters. WalkAway Rebecca Meli posted on Facebook : "The left only cares about pitting us against each other to keep control and keeping people dependent on them....This movement has gone right to my core. To have the privilege of watching people think for themselves and recognize the deceitful practices of the left and the manipulation of minorities has been like an awakening." WalkAway Vlad, who grew up in communist Poland, posted a YouTube video in which he compared the methods of today’s American left to the old communist government in his home country. • The Daily Signal says this is an "extraordinary opportunity for conservatives, and it is not likely to come our way again in our lifetimes. Many of these WalkAways come from surprising demographics -- gay people, ethnic minorities, and others. The left worked these communities hard in amassing its power, and it is incumbent on the right to reach out to these same individuals. With the Left inching ever closer to total victory, the Right cannot afford to shun those who are like-minded just because they previously found themselves on opposite sides of a debate. This is a golden opportunity. The bright light has shone. The WalkAways are on the move....Democrats on the road to Damascus." • • • DEAR READERS, I want to give LifeZette the last word today. On Tuesday, Kathryn Blackhurst published some of what she called the most incredible reactions to the first Kavanaugh hearing’s outlandish proceedings. Here are a few of them. (1) “Those screaming, yelling totally insane idiots want to run this country, God help us all if that happens...It is even impossible to imagine.” (2) “Dems : ‘This is a mockery of the norms.’ So true! It is indeed a mockery of norms, never before have the parties ever requested just about every sheet of paper on a nominee. What is the matter, Dems? Are you all now just awakening to the idea that nominees should have to produce their entire career in paper before questions? What a load of BS.” (3) “It’s funny, the
Democrats didn’t read the [2,000 page] Affordable Care Act, but now they want to read 440,000 pages of documents on Kavanaugh.” (4) “This is such a joke...the Democrats think they run the world...beginning to wonder about that myself.” (5) “Waste of time and my tax dollars. They didn’t want to speak to him initially. They haven’t read what was provided to them. They said they would vote against him basically no matter what his responses were. Why have this circus at all?” (6) “The Dems continue to show just how classless and un-hinged they are after their candidate, “Crooked Hillary,” spent half a billion dollars with the help of the media [and] still lost the election.” (7) “The Senate Dems should be ashamed of their TV performance in the Kavanaugh hearing this morning. What a bunch of hypocrites. I’m disgusted by their behavior.” (8) “What a waste of time. Kavanaugh will not be taking any of your ‘rights’ away. This country is not run by mob rule!” (9) “Watching C-SPAN for the hearings on Kavanaugh. I am all the more concerned how some of these people ever got elected to our Senate. Radical, disrespectful, anger-infused and in several cases stupidity, presented comments.” (10) “Huh, so wait...Now the Democrats are interested in finding documents? Let’s make a deal; we’ll give you more docs from Kavanaugh in exchange for the clean FISA warrants and all of Hillary’s missing emails!” (11) “Everyone in the Kavanaugh confirmation hearing room must be sweating to death with all that hot air spewing from the Dems. Such hyperbole and accusations by people who defend the partisan actions of Kagan, Sotomayor and Ginsburg.” (12) “The Democrats have so little on Kavanaugh that they resorted to actually asking him to ask for a postponement of the hearing. You can’t make it up.” • Unfortunately, the ProgDems "make it up" every day. It is time to vote these brain-dead anti-America Progressive fascists out of office at the very first opportunity. America can do better -- much better !!

These hearings, although intended to be productive while bringing government to be more transparent to the citizenry has become nothing more that very poor Shakespeare political drama. Macbeth had nothing on these Kavanaugh inquisitions.
ReplyDeleteThese hearings on the worthiness of Brett Kavanaugh to become an Associate Justice on the SCOTUS makes me wonder if ‘politics’ has really circumvented the ‘the Law?’
ReplyDeleteSenator Mike Lee of Nevada one question to the Judge was “what is your favorite of the Federalists Papers?” Without any hesitation he named and explained why he felt his 9 or 10 were. There has been a lot of legal questions, but that seemed pertinent for the Committee to get inside Judge Kavanaugh thought process.
Anyone Republican or Democrat on this panel shouldn’t be there or even in Washington DC if it isn’t apparent that Kavanaugh is exceptionally qualified. Doubt it? Simply look at the real legal experience of a few individuals already on the Court and practicing their brand of left leaning Law.
I love Katheryn Blackhurst (from the above posted article) #3 reason ... “It’s funny, the Democrats didn’t read the [2,000 page] Affordable Care Act, but now they want to read 440,000 pages of documents on Kavanaugh.”
ReplyDeleteHow very true and telling. For the Democrats this is ‘showtime.’ And what they are showing to the American eke triage may not have been their aim.
Ted Cruse ( R/Senator from Texas) and Brett Kavanaugh had a most interesting exchange today during Judge Kavanaugh confirmation hearings in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee about a largely misunderstood term - FEDERALISM is a system of government in which power is divided between a national (federal) government and various state governments. In the United States, the U.S. Constitution gives certain powers to the federal government, other powers to the state governments, and yet other powers to both.
ReplyDeleteImagine a Senator actually using his questioning time discussing philosophical view of a SCOTUS appointee - how unique.
Federalism is one of the most important and innovative concepts in the U.S. Constitution, although the word never appears there. Federalism is the sharing of power between national and state governments. In America, the states existed first, and they struggled to create a national government. The U.S. Constitution is hardwired with the tensions of that struggle, and Americans still debate the proper role of the national government versus the states. Chief Justice John Marshall, the longest-serving leader of the Supreme Court, noted that this question “is perpetually arising, and will probably continue to arise, as long as our system shall exist.
Federalism has been the legs that support the Constitution yesterday and still today. It’s important to know via his own words what Judge Kavanaugh thinks of Federalism, the impact of the Federalists Papers, etc, etc. not just what the questioners up for re-Election think.
We
Give a legislator a hammer and every ill of mankind will look like a nail to him needing to be pounded.
ReplyDeleteLet’s keep in mind that everyone who is a graduate of a Law School is called a Lawyer. But there is a monumental difference between a practicing Lawyer/Judge and those who have only used a a Legal education to advance in other fields like Stock Brokers, or Public Service endeavors.
I remind us all of the story about the 2 brothers who attended Harvard
Medical School. One brother graduate first in the class. The other brother graduated last. What would the first brother be addressed as ... Doctor. And the second brother would be forever called ...Doctor. The point demonstrated here is that the title in no wast represents ability. Same with Lawyer.
A practicing Lawyer is in the trenches everyday. While television practicing Lawyers speak ‘legalese’ for impact.
