A Sad Day for America and the Grand Old Party of Lincoln

A SAD DAY FOR THE REPUBLICAN PARTY. When the Republican Party Senate majority refused to support funding for the crisis at the southern US border with Mexico, the vote was not only against President Trump, who those voting "No" detest with the same hatred as the radical Democrat Senate minority -- those GOP Senators were voting against America and against all the Republic stands for -- rule of law, security for her citizens, and control of who immigrates into the United States. Their 'high-sounding' appeals to the sanctity of US Senate precedent and the right of Congress to determine ALL budget expenditures were rubbish -- pure self-serving anti-Trump rubbish. The US Senate long ago -- 1976 to be exact -- gave the President, every President, the right to declare national emergencies and use the effort needed to bring them under control. These "No" vote Republicans are now RINOs, and the conservative side of the Republican Senate has lost several heretofore voices as these erstwhile Republicans voted against border security and for a Progressive Democrat socialist future for America that is all but guaranteed by voter fraud that uses illegal immigrants as their foot soldiers. A sad day for the Grand Old Party of Lincoln, as the vote count later in the blog shows. • The House passed its version of the resolution last week, largely along party lines. • • • WHERE IS THE US SENATE ON THE OBAMA FBI / DOJ COUP AGAINST DONALD TRUMP?? The GOP senate majority was all aflutter about precedent ane voted against America and her President on border security. But, they seem unconcerned about real, palpable criminality from the Deep State FBI / DOJ. BlabberBuzz and Breitbart are now reporting that : "Obama’s CIA, DOJ and FBI started targeting the Trump campaign in 2015 -- long before what Comey claimed (July 2016)! The pieces of the coup to undermine the Constitution of the United States of America are coming undone. Evidence from various sources now confirms that Obama’s CIA, DOJ and FBI illegally spied on the Trump team starting in 2015 and then built a coup to prevent him from winning the election and later remove him from office! As we reported on June 4, 2018, the US Senate released over 500 pages of information related to the Spygate scandal. Hidden in the information were unredacted Strzok -- Page texts that show the FBI initiated actions to insert multiple spies in the Trump campaign in December 2015. We reported that according to far left LA Times, Comey stated in March of 2017 under oath that the FBI investigation into the Trump - Russia scandal started in July 2016. Now we know without a doubt that Comey lied about this." • Here is the new information offered by Breitbart that shows the lie : "A text message released by the US Senate showed words that were redacted when the FBI released the same texts long ago. The texts show evidence of collusion and wrongdoing by Obama’s FBI. Super-spy Tony Shaffer retweeted a tweet by Nick Falco showing that text messages between dirty cops Peter Strzok and his girlfriend in the FBI, Lisa Page, lead to information that ‘Spygate’ started in early 2015 -- 'I'd call this evidence of collusion and wrongdoing...https://t.co/CcTrao5bZE— Tony Shaffer (@T_S_P_O_O_K_Y) June 4, 2018.' Unfortunately but not surprisingly, Twitter has since shut down the Twitter account of Nick Falco, the individual Shaffer retweeted, he must have been too effective! Fortunately we saved the contents of Falco’s tweet. Falco referred to texts released between corrupt FBI investigator Peter Strzok to corrupt FBI attorney Lisa Page stating the following -- 1) BOMBSHELL- From DECEMBER 2015–The word LURES is redacted by FBI but not OIG “OCONUS LURES”; OCONUS = Outside Contiguous US; LURES = In this context LURES = SPIES – multiple. Is this an admission that the FBI wanted to run a baited Sting Op using foreign agents against Trump? pic.twitter.com/OtLxlOEGsV — Falco (@Nick_Falco) June 4, 2018.' " • Breitbart goes on : "Additional information we also provided showed that Obama’s spy, Stefan Halper, was awarded a contract in September of 2015. We also pointed out that the problem with Obama spying on Trump before July 2016 is that it is against FBI rules -- Retired assistant FBI director for intelligence Kevin Brock also has questions. Brock supervised an agency update to their longstanding bureau rules governing the use of sources while working under then-director Robert Mueller. These rules prohibit the FBI from directing a human source to perform espionage on an American until a formal investigation has been opened -- paperwork and all. Brock sees oddities in how the Russia case began. 'These types of investigations aren’t normally run by assistant directors and deputy directors at headquarters,' he told me. 'All that happens normally in a field office, but that isn’t the case here and so it becomes a red flag.Congress would have legitimate oversight interests in the conditions and timing of the targeting of a confidential human source against a US person.” __TheHill." • THUS, the problem with Comey lying about the start date of the Trump counterintelligence campaign before Congress is that it is against the law. President Trump caught it and tweeted the next day : "Wow, Strzok-Page, the incompetent & corrupt FBI lovers, have texts referring to a counter-intelligence operation into the Trump Campaign dating way back to December, 2015. SPYGATE is in full force! Is the Mainstream Media interested yet? Big stuff! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 6, 2018." • US Representative Devin Nunez was on the Sean Hannity [Radio] Show two days ago and he said this : "There’s a lot of information out there that tells us that the FBI was thick into this all through 2016 not just starting at the end of July like they’d like to claim." • In addition, we now know from Jeff Carlson at the Epoch Times who obtained a copy of Nellie Ohr’s testimony to Congress, that Nellie...started working against Trump in 2015. The implication here is that Nellie Ohr approached Fusion-GPS owner Glenn Simpson for a job; essentially to work on political opposition research files Fusion-GPS was assembling in 2015. This is distinctly different from Glenn Simpson seeking out Nellie Ohr, and opens the entire background to larger ramifications." • Breitbart states : "Our research has always indicated that Nellie’s work product was transmitted to Christopher Steele as part of an intelligence laundry process. Chris Steele laundered Nellie’s information, provided second verification where possible, formatted into an official intelligence file, and returned that file -- now named the Steele Dossier -- to the FBI. However, if it becomes verified that it was CIA contracted (former or current) Nellie Ohr who approached Simpson, then it becomes possible, perhaps likely, the intelligence information (seeds carried by Nellie), originated from the CIA. This means that Obama’s CIA, DOJ and FBI, all started working on spying on, infiltrating, harassing and framing the Trump campaign in 2015! The light is beginning to shine on the many crooks in the Obama Administration. Let it burn!" • AND, while thre US Senate is busy rejecting President Trump's effort to secure the southern border, is it even bothered by the real crisis, the real criminal activity, the real presidential effort to oust a political opponent through an illegal coup?? WHERE is the US Senate when it matters??? In the Swamp...very deep in the Swamp. • • • WHERE WAS THE US HOUSE ON BRUCE OHR'S TESTIMONY?? When the House was Republican-controlled, Bruce Ohr, a career Justice Department official, admitted in testimony iust released that he informed the FBI that the infamous, largely discredited anti-Trump Dossier authored by Christopher Steele was tied to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. Ohr testified that he further warned his FBI superiors that the Dossier information was likely “biased” against Trump and that he thought Steele was “desperate that Trump not be elected.” Ohr revealed to the House that he spoke to the FBI about the role of Fusion GPS in producing the Dossier, and informed the agency that his wife, Nellie Ohr, worked at the time for Fusion GPS. Critically, Ohr said that he transmitted all of that information in the time period before the FBI under James Comey certified the FISA application to obtain a warrant to conduct surveillance on Carter Page, a former advisor to President Trump’s 2016 campaign. Comey signed the first FISA application in late October 2016. • Breitbart reports that : "Comey’s FISA application to conduct surveillance did not specifically state that the FBI had information that Steele was being paid in connection with any U.S. political party, according to House documents and the redacted FISA application itself. The application also did not say that the FBI was provided with any information that would raise issues of bias concerning Steele. Instead, Comey’s FISA application stated generally that 'the FBI speculates' that Steele 'was likely looking for information that could be used to discredit' Trump’s campaign -- a far cry from informing the court that the Dossier utilized as central evidence against Page in the FISA warrant was paid for by Trump’s primary political opponents, namely Clinton and the Democratic National Committee (DNC)." • The FBI use of the word “speculates” on possible bias is at odds with Ohr’s testimony that he directly told the FBI about several possible avenues of bias and that he had reason to believe Steele himself was biased. THUS, Comey may have kept from the FISA court information that would at a minimum raise major questions about the Dossier charges that were cited as key evidence against Page in the FISA applications." • Ohr’s closed-door testimony was delivered last year before a joint Judiciary and Oversight Committee “task force.” A transcript of the testimony was released last week by Representative Doug Collins of Georgia, the top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, and Breitbart News states that it reviewed in full Ohr's testimony. Collins said he made the transcript public in an effort to raise awareness about what he referred to as a “very disturbing pattern of behavior at the Department of Justice” regarding probes of President Trump and alleged Russia collusion. • In the testimony, Ohr recounted maintaining direct contact with Steele even after the former British spy was terminated as an FBI source because of reports that Steele was communicating with reporters. In doing so, Ohr lent credibility to the Republican House Intelligence Committee memo alleging that Ohr served as a back-channel between the FBI and Steele. Breitbart states : "In confirming that he told the FBI about his wife’s relationship with Fusion GPS prior to the first FISA application, Ohr also spotlights the GOP Intel [Intelligence Committee] memo’s assertion that Nellie Ohr’s connection to Fusion GPS, which produced the central piece of evidence in the FISA application, was 'inexplicably concealed' from the FISA court. Ohr also testified that he told the FBI about the connection between the Clinton campaign and the Dossier. Those facts also were left out of the FISA applications. The Dossier was financed by Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and the DNC via the Perkins Coie law firm, which in turn funded Fusion GPS." • Here is a portion of Ohr's testimony published by Breitbart : "Mr. Gowdy. So you specifically told the Bureau that the information you were passing on came from someone who was employed by the DNC, albeit in a somewhat triangulated way? Mr. Ohr. I don’t believe I used -- I didn’t know they were employed by the DNC, but I certainly said, yes, that -- that they were working for -- you know, they were somehow working associated with the Clinton campaign. And I also told the FBI that my wife worked for Fusion GPS or was a contractor for GPS, Fusion GPS. Mr. Gowdy. And, again, you thought it was important to tell the Bureau that for bias -- Mr. Ohr. Yes." • Ohr said he told the FBI about his wife’s employment with Fusion GPS and issues with Steele’s information in an effort to inform the agency about possible bias related to Steele’s work. Ohr also confirmed that the information about credibility issues was provided to the FBI BEFORE Comey’s first FISA application citing the Dossier in question -- here is that testimony : "Mr. Ratcliffe. We’ve talked about the relevant facts that the FBI and the Department of Justice was aware of. Were they also -- one that I didn’t ask you about -- they were also aware of Mr. Steele’s bias against Donald Trump, were they not? Mr. Ohr. I provided information to the FBI when I thought Christopher Steele was, as I said, desperate that Trump not be elected. So, yes, of course, I provided that to the FBI. Mr. Ratcliffe. Yes. And so were the Department of Justice and the FBI also aware of Glenn Simpson’s bias against Donald Trump? Mr. Ohr. I certainly told the FBI that Fusion GPS was working with -- doing opposition research on Donald Trump. Mr. Ratcliffe. Okay. So, again, so the record is clear, what the Department of Justice and the FBI was aware of prior to the first FISA application was your relationship with Christopher Steele and Glenn Simpson, your wife’s relationship with Christopher Steele and Glenn Simpson, Mr. Steele’s bias against Donald Trump, Mr. Simpson’s bias against Donald Trump, your wife’s compensation for work for Glenn Simpson and Fusion GPS, correct? Mr. Weinsheimer. Can I have a second? [Discussion off the record.] Mr. Ohr. Right. So just, again, to reiterate, when I spoke with the FBI, I told them my wife was working for Fusion GPS. I told them Fusion GPS was doing research on Donald Trump. You know, I don’t know if I used the term opposition research, but certainly that was my -- what I tried to convey to them. I told them this is the information I had gotten from Chris Steele. At some point, and I don’t remember exactly when, I don’t think it was the first conversation, I told them that Chris Steele was desperate that Donald Trump not get elected. So those are all facts that I provided to the FBI. Mr. Ratcliffe. And you provided -- you said because you wanted to make sure -- first you said you thought there might be a conflict of interest and then you changed that and said, well, I didn’t mean conflict of interest, I just wanted to make sure that they were aware of the possibility of bias as it related to those facts, correct? Mr. Ohr. In case there is any concern that there might be any kind of bias or anything like that." • A House Intelligence Committee memo released last February documented that, as FBI director, Comey signed three FISA applications to spy on Page with the dossier serving as part of the basis for the warrant requests. • WHERE were the Republicans in the House when it mattered??? Some were in the Swamp...very deep in the Swamp. • • • IS ATTORNEY GENERAL BARR YET ANOTHER DEEP STATE PLANT AT JUSTICE?? I hesitate to even talk about this, because I have not been able to verify the story or even the facts around it. BUT -- Jim Hoft at BlabberBuzz, with Hot Air, reported in the past few days that : "A report at The Spectator on Friday claims dirty cop Robert Mueller met with Attorney General Bob Barr and the two agreed that President Trump’s children should be indicted. The report goes on to say that special counsel Robert Mueller and his 13 angry Democrats also want President Trump to be indicted but that Barr pushed back on this." • Author and attorney Sidney Powell spoke about this during her interview on the Mark Levin Show on FOX News. Sidney Powell is an expert on Department of Justice corruption and has followed the career of Democrat hatchetman Andrew Weissmann who has destroyed thousands of lives during his career as a federal prosecutor only to see his cases overturned years later by superior court rulings. Sidney Powell wrote LICENSED TO LIE : Exposing Corruption in the Department of Justice after seeing a core group of federal prosecutors break all the rules, make up crimes, hide evidence, and send innocent people to prison in the Enron case. • Powell warned Levin that the report, which will likely be authored by Andrew Weissmann, will destroy Trump. That is the goal and that is why Democrats are looking forward to its release. • Here is The Spectator account prepared by the mysterious reporter "Cockburn" who reports 'gossipy' Washington insider stuff but whose identity has never been revealed : "The story said members of President Trump’s family would be charged but also noted that it is Department of Justice policy not to indict a sitting President. However, there was no frenzy at the DOJ on Friday, no throng of reporters to make the tourists heading up Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House stop and look. So what happened? Several sources tell Cockburn that the Special Counsel has indeed completed his report. It is said to recommend indicting three of President Trump’s children -- Don junior, Ivanka and Eric -- as well as his son-in-law, Jared Kushner. The Attorney General, William Barr, is said to have ‘silently assented’ to this. It’s also claimed that Mueller wants President Trump himself to be indicted. Barr is said to oppose this. The two men met on Friday but apparently could not agree and this was the reason for the delay in any announcement from the DOJ. At least this is what the sources say." • So who are these sources? Blagger Buzz and Hot Air say : "None of Cockburn’s sources was ‘in the room’ -- as they say in Washington - for the (alleged) discussions between Mueller and Barr and their two staffs. And none of the sources was briefed by the people ‘in the room’. But they did talk to the people briefed by the people in the room and -- twice removed from the original conversations -- they all give the same account. It is that the older Trump children and Jared will be indicted for financial crimes while Mueller wants to charge Trump with obstruction of justice. The charges, Cockburn is told now, will not be about ‘Russia collusion’. This is different from the story yesterday, which was that Mueller would ‘make the case for collusion’. It is different from what the former CIA director, John Brennan, said on Lawrence O’Donnell’s show on MSNBC this week. He thought that the children would be indicted and (like Cockburn) that it would happen on Friday." • Can AG Bill Barr be diving into the Swamp so quickly after his confirmation? I had great confidence in his desire to run an honest DOJ, but it seems we will have to wait to see how this plays out. • • • MUELLER'S PROBE IS FUNDED THROUGH SEPTEMBER. The Gateway Pundit says : "Special counsel Robert Mueller and the team he assembled to investigate US President Donald Trump and his associates have been funded through the end of September, 2019, three US officials said on Monday, an indication that the probe has funding to keep it going for months if need be....Mueller’s office is financed by the US Treasury under special regulations issued by the Justice Department, the officials said." Bloomberg tweeted : "@business The Trump administration has set aside $10 million for Mueller during the next fiscal year https://bloom.bg/2EWT4yf" • Justice Department documents show that Mueller’s office reported spending around $9 million during the fiscal year which ran from October 1, 2017, to September 30, 2018. No figures are available for the current fiscal year. • On Tuesday, the Democrat-controlled House voted to call for the publication of Mueller's report. • Meanwhile, the Federalist Papers reported that Adam Schiff told Mueller, "You’re letting Trump off the hook!" How would Adam Schiff know? The House Intelligence Committee chairman told Chuck Todd on Sunday’s Meet the Press that Mueller’s making a mistake in letting Trump off the hook with only written responses : "I’ve said all along that I don’t think Bob Mueller should rely on written answers. When you get written answers from a witness, it’s really the lawyers’ answers as much as the client’s answer. And here you need to be able to ask follow-up questions in real time. But I think the constraint that Bob Mueller’s operating under is he had an acting attorney general who was appointed because he would be hostile to a subpoena on the President. And now he has a permanent attorney general who was chosen for the same hostility to his investigation, who would likely oppose that step. I also think that the special counsel feels some time pressure to conclude his work. And knowing that the White House would drag out a fight over the subpoena, that may be an issue as well. But I do think ultimately it’s a mistake because probably the best way to get the truth would be to put the President under oath...." The Federalist Papers states : "A more likely explanation for Mueller’s lack of insistence on in-person interrogation is that his investigation has produced no public evidence of a foundation for it. Mueller has filed a lot of indictments, but none that relate to collusion with Russian intelligence on their efforts to influence the 2016 election. Maybe Mueller has more that has yet to have been made public, but one would have expected to see such evidence reflected in indictments of others involved in such collusion. Without any such evidence, the fight over a grand jury subpoena would almost certainly be a loser; a court is not going to grant roving prosecutors subpoena power over presidents simply for fishing expeditions. It sounds as if Schiff is starting to believe that Mueller won’t have much to deliver in his final report to Barr. Speaking of which, ABC News reports today that senior Justice officials are already setting expectations about how the report will be handled : 'Two senior Justice Department officials are privately dismissing claims by House Democrats that refusing to share special counsel Robert Mueller’s final report and other investigative materials with Congress would amount to a 'double standard.' The circumstances that led the Justice Department to disclose investigative information in other recent, high-profile cases now being cited by Democrats are 'just not the same' as the circumstances surrounding the Mueller probe, one senior department official insisted to ABC News, speaking on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly about it. That official and another high-ranking Justice Department insider both pointed to what they see as one big difference : former FBI director James Comey.'....the DOJ release of over 800,000 pages of documents to Congress from the Hillary Clinton e-mail probe...was done, ABC’s sources say, because the DOJ concluded that Comey 'had in effect waived that privilege' with his public pronouncements about what the investigation found. Since that time, Justice officials have repeatedly reiterated normal policy on dealing with information on unindicted Americans, most recently by Rod Rosenstein two weeks ago today. If Mueller follows the statute and DOJ protocols, though, it’s likely to be a moot point. If Mueller isn’t putting collusion into indictments, it won’t be in the final report either. That leaves Trump off the hook, as Schiff fears, and Democrats holding the bag after two years of promoting the investigation as the end of the Trump presidency." • • • WAS PAUL RYAN A DEEP STATE MOLE IN THE HOUSE?? BizPac Review wrote on Thursday that : "President Trump ripped former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan for protecting Democrats who despise Republicans. President Trump says the wimpiness of former Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan is why the Democrats (who now control the House of Representatives) feel so emboldened to continue obstructing his America-First agenda. This is why Trump has had trouble getting wall funding; why the fruitless 'Russia collusion' witch hunt continues; why the Democrats gleefully push for socialism and open borders; and why Trump is in danger of being impeached despite having committed no impeachable offenses." • President Trump told Breitbart that House Freedom Caucus chairman Mark Meadows and caucus co-founder Jim Jordan wanted to aggressively investigate unethical, crooked Democrats. But Paul Ryan -- who was then Speaker -- blocked their moves to subpoena Democrats who should have been investigated. President Trump says this is because Democrats always play dirty, while weak RINOs like Ryan let the Left trample all over them : “Paul Ryan wouldn’t give the right to have any subpoenas. Meadows and Jordan and all these guys -- they wanted to go tougher -- but they weren’t allowed to by leadership. It’s so terrible what’s happening. The Left plays a tougher game. I actually think that the people on the right are tougher, but they don’t play it tougher. But the left plays it ‘cuter’ and tougher. Like with all the nonsense that they do in Congress...with all this invest[igations]. They do things that are nasty. Republicans never played this.” • Paul Ryan -- a failed vice presidential candidate who did not run for re-election in November 2018 -- tried to walk back remarks he made earlier this week, when he said : “The person who defines that race is going to win the race. If this is about Donald Trump and his personality, he isn’t going to win it.” Donald Trump Jr. responded by trashing Ryan on Twitter : “Mitt Romney’s failed 2012 running mate, the speaker who lied to us and didn't deliver Wall funding (and then lost the house) gives advice on winning." Ryan then used Twitter to do damage control on his anti-Trump remarks amid volcanic backlash from Republicans. Ryan tweeted : "To be clear, GOP wins elections when they’re about ideas not when they’re personality contests like Dems & media want. We’re clearly better off because of @RealDonaldTrump. His record of accomplishment is why he’ll win re-election especially when compared to Dems’ leftward lurch. — Paul Ryan (@SpeakerRyan) March 13, 2019." • Fox Business host Lou Dobbs has repeatedly torched Paul Ryan’s "feckless" leadership and has also trashed establishment Republicans as “gutless wonders” for caving to leftist bullying and abandoning the leader of their party when he’s being viciously attacked from all sides (by the Democrat Party, the media, Hollywood, and by RINOs). Dobbs tweeted : "Why is the establishment in Washington DC not screaming for the arrest of Andrew McCabe and all of his co-horts in the DOJ and FBI? Why the hell wasn’t the Republican Party standing up and demanding his arrest? They either follow President Trump or they are going to be on the scrapheap of history." • • • DEAR READERS, one answer to Lou Dobbs' questions is that the "establishment" GOP is willing to commit political suicide if that is what it takes to get rid of President Trump. These RINOs and #NeverTrumpers are interested only in their own privilege. President Trump threatens that privilege in the name of America and so they go after his jugular. • Breitbart wrote before the Senate vote on the national emergency declaration on Thursday : "President Donald Trump marveled that any Senate Republican could vote against his decision to declare a National Emergency on the southern border in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News in the Oval Office on Monday. But Trump vowed again that he would veto the measure regardless of whether it passes the Senate. Trump suggested that Democrats in the Senate and the handful of Republicans planning to vote to block the national emergency declaration are on the losing side of the immigration issue in the eyes of the public. He argued that, generally speaking, immigration is an 80/20 issue, meaning that 80% -- or the vast majority of Americans -- want the border secured, whereas just 20% support continued mass illegal immigration. The President told Breitbart : “We have a vote coming up on this whole national emergency thing it’s an 80/20 issue in our favor, it’s border security, a wall, no crime versus open borders and nothing but crime." • As the Senate votes were counted, the news was not good for the GOP. President Trump responded to the Senate's rejection of his national border emergency declaration by tweeting "VETO!" Senate Republicans joined Democrats on Thursday to vote to block President Trump’s border emergency declaration -- a move that will prompt the President's first-ever veto. • The measure passed 59-41 as a dozen Republicans joined Democrats in voting for the resolution, despite White House efforts to keep the GOP united on the issue of border security. Those GOP members who backed the resolution cited concerns about the expansion of presidential powers. • Where were those GOP Senators when President Obama used his executive authority illegally to begin a prohibited surveillance of a political opponent? Where were they when President Obama's Attorney General and FBI Director chose to overlook Hillary Clinton's criminal mishandling of classified materials on her secret unsecure server?? WHERE WERE THEY??? • The argument most often used by the turncoat Republican Senators was voiced by new Senator Mitt Romney, the 2012 defeated GOP presidential candidate : “I’m going to be voting in favor of the resolution of disapproval. This is a constitutional question, it’s a question of the balance of power that is core to our constitution. This is not about the president or border security, in fact I support border security, I support a barrier.” • TELL THAT to the first American murdered after your vote by an illegal alien criminal who easily walked through a porous border. TELL THAT to the American families who will lose loved ones this year because of fentanyl and other dangerous drugs brought in by illegal alien criminal gang members. • The other Republicans who voted to oppose the declaration were Senators Mike Lee, R-Utah; Rob Portman, R-Ohio; Susan Collins, R-Maine; Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska; Marco Rubio, R-Fla.; Rand Paul, R-Ky.; Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn.; Roger Wicker, R-Miss.; Roy Blunt, R-Mo.; Jerry Moran, R-Kan.; and Pat Toomey, R-Pa. • Senator Thom Tillis, R-N.C., had said he would oppose the declaration but reversed course on the Senate floor, saying that he was "sympathetic" to Trump's push to deal with the crisis at the border. • The conservative Senators President Trump thought he could count on were AWOL on Thursday -- namely, Senators Rand Paul, Mike Lee, Roger Wicker, and Roy Blunt. What led Senator Marco Rubio to vote against border security seems to be his mistaken notion that Latinos and Hispanics in Florida do not want secure borders. Nothing could be more wrong-headed. • The victory parade of the Progressive Socialist Democrat Party was swift. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., before the vote, said he "takes his hat off" to Republicans voting with Democrats, while accusing Trump of "going around Congress" with the declaration. "This is a momentous day," he said, declaring that the balance of power was shifting back toward Congress. • BUT, the measure now heads to President Trump's desk, and he plans to veto it. It is unlikely the House and Senate could muster the required two-thirds majority of each chamber to override. • Vice President Mike Pence urged Republicans to support the national emergency declaration in an interview airing Thursday morning on 'Fox & Friends : “A vote against the President's national emergency declaration is a vote to deny the humanitarian and security crisis that's happening at our southern border. So we're urging every member of the Senate set politics aside to recognize that we have a crisis." • Trump shrugged off the impending vote when asked about it by reporters in the Oval Office earlier Thursday : “I don’t know what the vote will be, it doesn’t matter, I’ll probably have to veto." • President Trump had tweeted ahead of the vote that if Congress wanted to amend the law governing emergency declarations in the future, “I will support those efforts,” suggesting another last-minute push to keep Republicans on board. Then, just before the vote, President Trump said : “A vote for today’s resolution by Republican senators is a vote for Nancy Pelosi, crime and the Open Border Democrats.” • A sad day for America and for the Grand Old Party of Lincoln.

  1. The 1976 National Securities Act is as legal as can be (I’m am told)and every President since has used it - but never a one has had the obstruction set up in front of President Trump. So why the treatment of President Trump?

The democrats want only that fair play they are willing to work around- NOT FAIR PLAY as the term appears to suggest.

  2. President Trump will hold line and eventually slow down the gibberish flowing from the already 20 some democratic candidates thinking they are the next President of the United States of America.

This potential list of candidates is a black mark on the American political scene. Seldom do we have 2 good people let alone 22 outstanding souls.

Let’s get behind Trump, drive the polls crazy, and watch the democrats go screaming as they vacate Dodge City. Supporting President Trump is a winning plan. Fighting the democrats could be disastrous for everyone.

  3. I believe that President Trump has all the right in the world to personally create a stronger, more forceful, a more responding base of Conservative Republican Senators. He has taken an oath to serve the citizens of America with the best leadership possible. Within that Oath there is no room or mention of playing babysitter to some destructive unknowns as to what or when they believe.

The 10 GOP Senators that deserted him and America need replaced on all committee assignments by Sen. McConnell and essentially left out in the cold on all Senate business and all opportunity to developer a following at Senate business.
