Lois Lerner, the IRS, and the Department of "No Justice"

It's Saturday politics. In what seemed an effort to bury the news during the media frenzy over Hillary Clinton's testimony before the House Select Benghazi Committee, the Justice Department sent a letter ten days ago to Congress informing it that the DOJ is closing its two-year investigation into whether the IRS improperly targeted tea party and conservative groups. In the letter, Assistant Attorney General Peter Kadzik wrote the probe found : “substantial evidence of and institutional inertia leading to the belief by many tax-exempt applicants that the IRS targeted them based on their political viewpoints. But poor management is not a crime. We found no evidence that any IRS official acted based on political, discriminatory, corrupt, or other inappropriate motives that would support a criminal prosecution. We also found no evidence that any official involved in the handling of tax-exempt applications or IRS leadership attempted to obstruct justice. Based on the evidence developed in this investigation and the recommendation of experienced career prosecutors and supervising attorneys at the department, we are closing our investigation and will not seek any criminal charges.” ~~~~~ So, Lois Lerner, who referred to tea party organizations in emails as “crazies” and said they were working to bring about “an end to America,” will not be prosecuted. The DOJ also said no one on Lerner's staff will be charged. She resigned from the IRS in September 2013 and has since received her full pension. When the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee was investigating whether the IRS targeted organizations because of their political views, Lerner exercised her Fifth Amendment right not to testify in order not to incriminate herself. During the investigation, the IRS claimed to have lost many of the emails to and from Lerner, making congressional and DOJ probes difficult. ~~~~~ So, we now know what the Department of “Justice” did for Lois Lerner. Its investigation was headed by a Democrat donor, and its report declared that Lerner did not deserve to be charged criminally, even though Lerner, who has been held in contempt of Congress, called conservative talk radio hosts “a**holes” in a 2012 email, and violated privacy laws by giving IRS information to the FBI. Lerner herself, in a February 2012 email, noted she expected consequences if her actions came to light. The evidence led a judge to rule in April that 300 conservative nonprofit groups could join in a class action lawsuit against the IRS. National Review’s Kevin Williamson wrote, the situation leaves us “one banana short of a republic.” ~~~~~ But, refusing to be ridiculed by the Obama DOJ without a fight, the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Jason Chaffetz, began an impeachment process against IRS Commissioner John Koskinen on Tuesday, accusing him of misleading the public and destroying documents sought under a congressional subpoena. Among the charges listed by Chaffetz and the Committee were that Koskinen, appointed by President Obama in December 2013 after the targeting scandal broke, misled Congress when he said he had turned over all of former IRS senior executive Lois Lerner’s emails and that he oversaw destruction of evidence when his agency destroyed backup tapes that contained the emails. The impeachment resolution says the IRS knew as early as February 2014 that Lerner’s messages were missing because of a reported computer hard drive crash, but the agency didn’t notify Congress until June, and the backup tapes were destroyed. ~~~~~ Governor Mike Huckabee said : "There are two sets of rules in this country, one for those in power and one for all the rest of America who are getting screwed...by their government whether it's their taxes, whether it's the criminal justice system, and Americans are fed up....the IRS is a criminal enterprise that should be put to death." ~~~~~ And, dear readers, are we ready for the same kind of Obama DOJ "justice" that Hillary Clinton will probably receive for her 2012 re-election Benghazi cover-up.

  1. Ready or not folks that's exactly the ruling that is forth coming from Justice all wrapped up pretty as can be for service rendered for the President, and all the Presidents men and advisors because she knows very well where all the "bodies" are buried.

And by all the bodies I mean on husband Bill, on the Clinton Foundation, on Vince Fosters still unexplained death, on all the fast monies made from insider information, on all the Obama lies,on George Soros involvment in the Obama Administration, on the lies leading to the passage of Obamacare Health Act, on Benghazi, on the killing of Osama Bin Ladin, hugh sums of monies donated from foreign countries & individuals to the Clinton Foundation and Obama election and re-election campaigns, etc., etc.

Hillary Clinton is a walking , breathing loaded gun to any prosecutor wanting to clear the books on oh so many illegal democratic dealings over the past 25 plus years.

And it is for exactly that reason that Obama will send word to Justice to somehow "let my informer go."

What advances would her "tell all" book bring to her in advances and royalties. And for Ms. Medusa in the end it is all about money. Because in quest of all the money she and Bill have been after, the influence and notoriety naturally comes hand in hand with the monies.

  2. There is no honor, no decency, no purpose except self-purpose in this administration or any of its people. The Obama years have been all about Carpetbaggers from Chicago and the Progressive Socialists branch of political thought.

No “One for all, and all for one”. Instead “All for me and none for anyone else”

Follow the logic (or lack the of) regarding Louis Learner and you’ll most likely end up on January 20, 2017 at the Inauguration of Hillary Clinton as President of the United States.

I have read a lot about the inexperience of and lack of understanding by Obama of the Presidency. Well that may be, but the one thing he does understand is the personal power that allows him and his friends to function outside the authority of the Constitution and to escape the Rule of Law along with it.

  3. In the scheme of how things work inside the parkway in Washington DC, Lois Lerner is or was a middle management employee with strong philosophy ties to the Progressive Socialists regime of Obama or she pretended to be one of them to get ahead. Whichever she is not a “big fish” and yet Obama and his Justice lackey’s come forth to save her from EVERYTHING.

Ask yourself why. Why spend this political capital on a Lois Learner type?

    Well there are 2 possibilities:
    1. Learner have some very incriminating information (most likely in writing over some much higher up signature) that a (Special) prosecutor would make his/her career over. So Lois “blackmails” someone who passes it up the line. Lois gets away scot free, full retirement, and much more hidden pocket money.
    2. The Obama administration White House staff thinks she has something and jumps at her rescue. They play a trump card as protection of something they aren’t sure of.

As every prosecuting type Attorney in Washington DC knows you … FOLLOW THE MONEY.

Eventually this money trail will lead back to George Soros and therefore the White House.

  4. To some John Dean was the smoking gun that could have brought Richard Nixon administration down in a hurry. Is or was Lois Lerner the smoking gun that Obama and his cadre of lying, underhanded White House executives decided was just too unstable, too uncertain, not a real groupie player to chance not spring from the jaws of justice – so a call was place to the new Attorney General to drop the ball?

  5. Lois learner was always the front man for this scandal. And she always answered to someone inside the White House. Now that person inside the White House may or may not have briefed the President on what was going on.

Reciprocity (Mutual benefits) is the word used in Washington DC for such activities. A lot are aware and knowledgeable, but only one is guilty and they have a “Get Out of Jail” card if anything in the operation goes sour.

Learner always had this card which guaranteed her if the operation went sour she would take some heat, most likely be forced to retire, but in the end all would be fine and she’d be well taken care of. And she has been well taken care of. She retired got a FULL pension awarded, and got the whole affair dropped by the Justice department – never went to trail. She had to submit to a few days of examination but exercised her 5th Amendment rights to not testify for fear of self-incrimination.

Accidental? no way friends. She had someone in very high places armed and ready to get Justice to drop this case at a moment’s notice. Her escaping any trail, jail time, etc. vs her serving time was a bet that not even Las Vegas would take.

  6. Obama has created the "perfect storm" for massive disbelief in democratic government. And this Lois Lerner scandal is just one more example of the how destructive Obama can be.
