Barack Obama's 'Lost' Presidency
Americans are frustrated with the job Barack Obama is doing as President and tired of waiting for the economic recovery he promised -- and their malaise has sent Obama's job approval rating to a career low. A majority in the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll favor a Republican Congress to act as a check on Obama's policies. In the ABC/WP poll, 53% of registered voters say they'd rather see the Republicans in control of Congress as a counterbalance to Obama's policies, while 39% prefer a Democratic-led Congress to help support him. These percentages are similar to those in the Fall of 2010, when the Republicans took control of the House of Representatives and gained six Senate seats. Obama's job approval rating, after a slight winter rebound, has lost 5% among all adults since March, down to 41%, the lowest of his presidency by one point. Fifty-two percent "strongly" disapprove, exceeding "strong" approval by 17%. Langer Research Associates, which carried out the survey for ABC and the Washington Post, says economic discontent remains the driving element in political views in the survey -- 71% view the economy negatively and 29% view it positively, which is the least bad since November 2007, but still dismal by any measure. Only 28% think the economy is improving, down by 9 points since just before Obama won his second term, and he gets just 42% approval for his handling of the economy. Economic views are strongly related to political preferences, with 65% of the people who see the economy improving preferring Democratic control of Congress, while 62% of those who see the economy as stagnant or worsening favoring Republican control of Congress. These survey results show the important breakdown of political party affiliation in relation to economic views, which are instead linked with preferences for control of Congress. The survey report says the results suggest the corrosive effects of the long downturn on the President's popularity -- among those who say the economy is in bad shape, Obama's overall approval rating has lost 20% since February 2012, from 46% then to 26% now. The report says that President Obama also faces other challenges. Obamacare is the most important of them. While Obama has touted the Obamacare insurance exchange sign-ups as a confirmation of Obamacare's success, the program and his rating for handling it have lost ground, both down from their levels late March after the Healthcare.gov website was stabilized. Obamacare gets 44% support, down 5 points; Obama has just 37% approval for its implementation, down 7. One reason given in the survey analysis is that the law seems to have opened an avenue for public anger about health care costs to be directed at the Obama administration. Sixty percent blame Obamacare for increasing costs nationally, and 47% think it's caused their own health care expenses to rise. Regardless of whether or how much those costs would have risen otherwise, Obamacare is being blamed. Separately, a current issue on the world stage offers no respite for Obama -- given continued tensions over Ukraine, only 34% of Americans approve of Obama's handling of foreign affairs. ~~~~~ Dear readers, this latest poll was taken before the news of the White House email about the Benghazi talking points was made public. That would undoubtedly have affected the foreign policy results. But, nevertheless, the survey shows that the two areas where mounting registered voter disappointment with President Obama coincide with the major topics emerging in the 2014 congressional campaigns. The severely underperforming American economy and its related tragic job situation, and Obamacare, are the two prongs of the American rejection of Barack Obama. His abyssmal performance in the foreign policy area completes Obama's "Bermuda Triangle" of a lost presidency led by a lost President, whose goodwill and credibility have been trashed by his advisors and by the President, himself. Despite the cries of racism that are now flung at anyone who criticizes Barack Obama, America welcomed him in 2008 and had the great hope, now dead, that he would catalyze the work remaining in the healing of America's race relations while leading the country and the world to a new day of political cooperation. He has failed. And with that failure, every American is weaker, poorer, more cynical and more disconnected from Washington than ever before. It is the loss of a monunental opportunity thrown away because of inexperience and a misplaced pride that has consistently refused to listen to those who could offer experience.

I just spent about 45 minutes looking at various polling organization recent numerical opinion of how really pathic Ibama is doing in the eyes of the American people.
ReplyDeleteBut I think there are some areas that NO ONE needs to tell the American voter of how badly this administration is doing:
1. The Economy has already moved over the edge
2. Job creation numbers are a joke
3. Unemployment is much higher than Obama's NEW math indicates
4. They know that Obama has openly lied about the night if 9/11/2012 in Benghazi.
5. American's do not want to be involved in the Ukraine skirmish.
6. American's are distrusting of the way this country us headed
7. Race relation in America are at an all time low
8. The Obama/Kerry / Clinton is in above their heads in foreign policy.
The president needs to come clean with America. But he won't it's not his nature. He lives in The Land of Oz under a mushroom in a field. He has no conception if what to do to try and salvage his administration from being
"Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall."
ReplyDeleteProverbs 16:18
Obama and his inner group of advisers have NO pride or honor. They don't seem to be able to be destroy much like EVIL can't be destroy - because they are when all the polite words of description are removed - they are pure evil.
DeleteThe discussion about Benghazi is all settling around the cover-up conducted by Obama and the White House staffer’s whose job it was to spin and conjure up the type of lies and false impressions. And granted this aspect of the Massacre of the four federal servants on the evening of September 11, 2012 at Benghazi, Syria was gut wrenching in any conceivable take.
ReplyDeleteBut I think there is one take that has been sorry fully over looked.
For all those presently wearing the military uniform, for all those that have worn the uniform, and for all those that may one day wear the uniform, there is one true ism that permeates every branch of the United States Armed Forces ... If you come under fire (or are killed in some far off corner if the world) the US military will come at all human costs to rescue and/or retrieve your remains - PERIOD
I have been in similar predicaments many, many times in places with no names, seemingly no value, and no route of rescue visible. But you lay there trapped, scared, short if ammunition, dead or heavenly wounded friends and comrades all around, hungry, exhausted, probably wounded to some degree yourself, you lay there not hoping, but knowing someplace hundreds if not thousands of miles away plans are being executed for your teams retraction. For me mine was once 3.5 years late and we didn't wait any longer and escaped.
But think of those 4 brave men who saw public service (via varied avenues) as a worthy profession; who that night in Benghazi while trying to withstand the onset of hundreds of Islamic terrorists that had one goal that evening – your slaughter. Think of them and their efforts to hold on to hope that help had to be coming. Consider that Ambassador Christopher Stevens had no thoughts that death was a possibility for a United States ambassador. And knowing the previous work of Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods and Glenn Doherty death was always right behind them. But on that night they must have all been thinking (even after communications broke down) that help was forthcoming.
As we know now they were all ferociously beaten and dragged through the streets of Benghazi by their savage assassins. And also as we know now this was happening as a video photo op was taking place in the White House basement in the “Situation Room”. The president, VP, Secretary of State (Clinton), Secretary of Defense, Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff all collecting face time and looking so amazed.
Does this not rise to the level of “High Crimes and Misdemeanors?” Is this not an Impeachable crime under our Constitution? Is this not at least “Dereliction of Duty?” What is the Congress waiting for – another John Kerry cold and heartless apology?
We have a president who is lost in his own world of reality. He really believes that if he (or his staff) says something its true.
ReplyDeleteTake for an example today’s labor department numbers on “unemployment.” A AP (Advance Placement) High School econ student could/would see the miscalculations, the addition of 1 + 1 to equal 5. But Obama today, right now is most likely sitting in his Oval Office gloating over the fine job that he has done. The whole report is a JOKE. Obama is a JOKE. The entire hierarchy (of every department) is bought and paid for.
Reports such as the one today on unemployment is an example of starting with what end result you want and then proving it with voodoo numbers.
There’s no reality to this administration at all – NONE what so ever. Never has been. But yet we continue to allow Obama and all his people to “skirt” the truth, fabricate any story that makes the messiah look good, and not to worry about the victim’s (dead or alive) of Obama’s total incompetence to be anything above the level of a Community Organizer for the Chicago democratic machine.
It is a great use of time to discuss the short comings of Obama as president, and all the nincompoops he has chosen to do his biddings. But something “positive” has to be done. Obama has taken the economy to teetering on the cliffs edge of total meltdown. His foreign policy has never been a policy and threatens to put us in a couple civil wars, and endangers Israel’s existence. His Common Core educational model is akin to educational collapse, he has the US economy freefalling out of being the world’s #1 economy.
Delete“We The People” haven’t driven Obama to destruction – he has with his policies, methodology, stubbornness, incompetency, and one lie after another. His Spin masters (with his approval) are still blaming President Bush, in fact they blame Bush for their own program failures – REALITY, don’t think so.
It’s now time that Obama and all his administration gurus (one and all-still on board or not) are called to answer questions and face charges where applicable.
To sum up the philosophy of the Obama administration in one word it would be “misdirection.”
ReplyDeleteHe misdirects everyone he talks with and/or talks to mostly purposely. Every time he talks to the American public either via a press conference, presidential announcement, or on the spot question from news reporters; he is telling us what he thinks we want to hear – not the truth, not even his truth. He is using “misdirection” strategies to cover all his activities.
On his latest Asian diplomatic trip he “misdirected” Japan, South Korea, and Philippines that we would be there for their defense if they were attacked by China or North Korea. Firstly that wasn’t his to promise so absolutely. Military assistance has to be approved by Congress; he has cut our defense budget so low that we couldn’t possibly take up a defensive role for 3 counties at the same time. And lastly the American people were “misdirected” into thinking Obama had come home with 3 reciprocal defense agreements - when in fact the 3 countries would not come to our defense. They are using us to supply them with a military while they use that would be dollar investment in a military for domestic growth funds. More “misdirection.”
When Tip O’Neil said that ALL politics is local he never thought someone like Obama would be in the Oval Office
