President Trump Is Cleaning Up the Mess in the Swamp and the Cornered Democrats Are Determined to Stop Him

JANUARY HAS NOT BEEN GOOD FOR THE DEMOCRATS. The Wall Shutdown looking good for the President. Military planes for an overseas junket cancelled. Mueller coming to the President's rescue. What else can happen?? PLENTY. • • • THE WASHINGTON POST TELLS PELOSI -- TAKE THE PRESIDENT'S DEAL. When the WP abandons the Progressive Democrats and their socialist causes, it's a message for all but the fanatical to see. Well, that's what happened on Sunday. The Daily Caller reports that the WP noted in a Sunday editorial reasons why Pelosi should rebuke the resident’s most recent offer to temporarily extend protections for the so-called Dreamers. BUT, the Post finally explained that taking the deal would ultimately help those who came here through the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. The WP began by smearing President Trump as usual : “He should not be rewarded for having taken the government hostage. Any piece of a wall would reinforce his hateful, anti-immigrant rhetoric. He’s unreliable, having made and withdrawn similar offers in the past.” And, for some completely illogical reason, saying that the President's immigration policies would "cripple the economy." THEN, Sunday’s editorial explained why young people who came to the US through the [unconstitutional] Obama-era program are in peril of being deported : “If no deal is reached, the Supreme Court is likely at some point to end that dispensation, as Mr. Trump has demanded, and they will be sent back into the shadows, or to countries of which they have no memory.” • The deal President Trump offered the Democrats last week included not only $800 million in urgent humanitarian assistance, $805 million in new drug detection technology, BUT ALSO three years of legal relief from deportation for DACA recipients in exchange for the $5.7 billion for “strategic deployment of physical barriers.” Speaker Pelosi was not impressed. In fact, she rejected the deal even before it was made on TV by President Trump. • • • NANCY PELOSI AND THE DEMOCRAT PARTY OWN THE SHUTDOWN NOW. That's what American Thinker's William Sullivan wrote on Tuesday. Sullivan notes that Democrat Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer "may well have been pleased when President Trump signified his willingness to shut down the government to advance border security to fulfill his most politically charged campaign promise. Even some conservative pundits were aghast at Trump’s audacity in making such a proclamation, because, as everyone knows, Americans hate government shutdowns." Sullivan reminds us that back in November, Schumer and his Senate ProgDems threatened to shut down the federal government over his demand that the Mueller investigation be protected by Congress after the resignation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions : “If [Trump’s interim Attorney General] Whitaker does not recuse himself,” wrote Michele Blood at LifeZette on November 11, “Schumer said he would attach a demand for Whitaker’s non-interference to “must pass” legislation such as the spending bill -- then risking another shutdown.” The ProgDem propagandist media was pretty quiet about that. BUT, because Democrats believe that a government shutdown, for any reason, can be blamed on Republicans, Schumer believed that the government shutdown enthusiastically embraced by President Trump would become a powerful weapon in the Democrat Party’s political arsenal to help Democrats turn public opinion against the President and all Republicans. • HOLD ON. Sullivan says that President Trump "willfully owning the shutdown turned the tables, because he recognizes that the shutdown is not the issue. What Americans care about is the issue that triggers the shutdown. Trump was elected on the promise to build better border security infrastructure, and a barrier has long been, for both parties, a logical means of achieving that outcome. Even Schumer and then-senator Hillary Clinton voted to construct a border fence back in 2006....But there’s something that does makes this one different. Democrats are now clinging to the shutdown because they believe that continuing the shutdown allows them to better highlight the pain being inflicted." YET, now that the President has offered a reasonable deal that covers most of the ProgDem talking points, AND it is the Democrats who refuse to even negotiate-- never mind taking the deal outright -- the Democrats are in a bind. Sullivan states : "It is Trump who is seeking to negotiate a compromise which would fund a border barrier to secure our porous Southern border, and he is offering to fulfill the long-held Democratic desire to provide protection from deportation for beneficiaries of the Obama’s DACA executive order to do so. This would allow Congress time to negotiate a deal on what to do about Dreamers, in accordance to constitutional protocol rather than via unilateral executive orders. In the meantime, Dreamers would have protection from deportation, border security would obtain funding, and furloughed government employees could go back to work. But Democrats are refusing to provide protection for Dreamers, not because they are against a wall, but because they are against giving an inch to President Trump. Even if it means continued pain for federal workers going without pay. It is clear that the Democrats are not acting as a reasonable party to negotiation. And, in spite of the shutdown, polls suggest that support for a border wall is actually increasing." • So, Pelosi, Schumer and the ProgDems who blindly follow their every whim are in a real box. They must negotiate with President Trump or show to the entire world that saving the Dreamers is not their goal -- their goal is refusing to allow President Trump to succeed in any part of his agenda, even at the cost of sacrificing the Dreamers !! • Pelosi asked the media after the initial White House shutdown meeting back in late December, "how many times do I have to say 'No," there will be no wall?" The answer is "One time too many." Pelosi and her Democrats now own the shutdown. And, as William Sullivan says : "Republicans, led by President Trump, have made that fact so obvious that no amount of media spin can keep any but the most ardent left-wing zealots from seeing it plainly." • • • THE SUPREME COURT SIDES WITH TRUMP ON TRANSGENDERS IN THE MILITARY. It's only a temporary "sides with" and one is never wise to think that temporary orders show the Court's final decision in advance. BUT, still, as TheHill pointed out : "The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted the Trump administration's request to allow it to temporarily enforce its restrictions on transgender people serving in the military. The Justices stayed district court injunctions that blocked the new policy pending a ruling in the Ninth Circuit on the government's appeal. The Court, however, did not agree to reiew the legality of the new policy as the administration had asked. Solicitor General Noel Francisco jumped the normal course of judicial order in November by submitting his request before the regional appeals courts had ruled on the issue. He urged the Justices to immediately take the case and issue a ruling this term, arguing the lower court’s decision blocked a policy that’s 'necessary to place the Department of Defense in the strongest position to protect the American people.'....The Justices, however, like for the appeals courts to have considered a case before they weigh in, and even then are selective. It takes four Justices to agree to hear a case and often they only agree to step in if the appeals courts are deeply divided on an issue. It takes five Justices to agree to agree to stay a lower court ruling. Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Stephen Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor, and Elena Kagan, of the court's liberal wing, said they would have denied the application." • Last week, the DC Circuit Court of Appeals lifted a preliminary order blocking the ban. The unsigned order said the district court had erred in finding the policy was the equivalent of a blanket ban on transgender service, saying instead that the new policy will allow at least some transgender people to continue to serve and receive gender transition-related medical care. But, the DC Circuit Court’s decision was not a final determination on the merits of the case. • The policy first announced by President Trump in July 2017 via Twitter was a ban on transgender people from the military : “the United States Government will not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the US Military.” The policy directive then Defense Secretary James Mattis ultimately issued in February 2018 actually disqualified from service anyone who has already transitioned or seeks to transition in the future, as well as anyone who has a history or diagnosis of gender dysphoria. But it included exemptions for active-duty military members already serving openly and those willing to serve in accordance with their sex assigned at birth. • Attorneys for active-duty military members challenging the policy argued that the lower courts were correct to conclude the restrictions are likely to be found unconstitutional and thus issued preliminary injunctions. One plaintiff filing to the Supreme Cort said : “Indeed, the fundamental point of the ban -- and why it is facially unconstitutional -- is that transgender people are deemed categorically ineligible to serve based on a factor unrelated to their individual merit, qualifications, or physical and mental fitness to serve.” • BUT, it was another "Hold on" for the Progressives and their Democrat Party supporters. The Supreme Court will hear the case, but apparently only after the 9th Circuit has ruled. • • • TRUMP CLEANS UP THE SWAMP MESS MADE BY PROGDEMS. Fox News' Steve Hilton explained it this way : "Trump is daring to clean up the establishment's biggest messes -- and they hate him for it....According to establishment politicians and the establishment media, President Trump is like some kind of demented bull in a china shop, barging into issues he doesn't understand with a dangerous combination of ignorance and bluster. But what if the real reason the Trump approach breaks so much china is that he's actually confronting problems that the 'IYI's' -- intellectual, yet idiots -- in the establishment have been running away from for years? And what if the real reason they hate him so much is that he's showing them up for their failures. In fact, some of the loudest voices on the left and the 'Never Trump' right who scream abuse at President Trump literally helped create the mess he's now trying to clean up." • Steve Hilton uses immigration as the perfect example : " 'The Trump shutdown is a completely manufactured crisis -- manufactured by Donald Trump,' Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has said. 'Manufactured' by President Trump? How about the result of policy failures which you, Chuck, were right at the heart of? Border patrol apprehensions at the southern border -- that didn't start in 2016. Look at these numbers : Over 3 million arrests in the last 10 years alone. And look at the humanitarian crisis -- hundreds of deaths, every year, and that's just in the last decade. Here's a little fact-check for you, Chuck. Donald Trump was not in office the last decade. But guess who was? You! You and all the geniuses who love to attack President Trump. What have you done to fix our broken immigration system? All these years, Pelosi and Schumer have been in Congress. All these years, whether it's Bush or Obama, it's just talking, talking, talking. The Border Protection, Anti-terrorism and Illegal Immigration Control Act of 2005 - failed. The Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act of 2005 - failed. The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007 - failed. President Bush's southwest border enforcement initiative in the 2009 budget - failed. The 'Gang of Eight's' Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act of 2013 – failed. Four executive orders focused on immigration reform - failed. And now suddenly it's all Trump's fault? These establishment politicians are just not serious. They're not serious about policy. They're not serious about reform. They're not serious about anything except writing pompous, self-regarding, opinion pieces to impress each other at Washington dinner parties." • Hilton calls out the Swamp's failure on trade : "It's the same on trade. They attack President Trump's trade strategy without pausing for one second to acknowledge the consequences of their own. 'Trade wars are only lost, and this whole liberal international order in terms of rules-based trade that we have helped establish over the past 70 years, we are now running away from,' said former Senator Jeff Flake, R-Ariz. in an interview on another cable news network. 'And I think our allies are certainly scratching their heads and saying, 'Where are they going?' But for decades, America's trade policy, supported by establishment Democrats as well as establishment Republicans, helped the people at the top -- people like Jeff Flake's donors -- and hurt working Americans. We talked a lot about wage stagnation after the Great Recession 10 years ago. But for most American workers, their wages, after taking account of inflation, were stagnant for decades. And guess who finally turned that around, with the fastest wage increases for a decade last year? President Trump. The trade policy backed by all the Trump-haters in Washington helped destroy close to 4 million manufacturing jobs. The geniuses said Trump's crazy tariffs would be a disaster. So how do they explain that last year was the best year for American manufacturing job growth since 1997 -- since before China joined the World Trade Organization?" • Hilton explains Trump's clean-up of the China policy failure : "Speaking of which, the establishment's policy on China has obviously been a total failure. Even CNN's Fareed Zakaria now admits as much, writing, 'China has failed to enact promised economic reforms and backtracked on others, and uses formal and informal means to block foreign firms from competing in China’s market.' For decades, without so much as a peep from the Trump-hating establishment, China manipulated its currency and stole American technology. On top of that, according to an October 2018 study from the Economic Policy Institute, 'The growth of the US trade deficit with China between 2001 and 2017 was responsible for the loss of 3.4 million US jobs.' Oh, the trade deficit. It's stupid to worry about the trade deficit, say the geniuses in the establishment, when Donald Trump describes it as a problem that needs to be tackled. Yeah, who cares about the trade deficit if you're a politician or a pundit? It's not your job that's going to China. It's not your community that's devastated when a factory closes down. Trump's critics -- all of them -- meekly went along with the establishment's humiliating China swoon. If we suck up to China, they said, China will reform. It will become more democratic. It will be our partner. 'I worked with the Chinese,' Colin Powell said in an interview in October 2018. 'Now, it’s sort of come down to a trade war. The last thing we need with anybody, is a trade war.' No, Colin Powell, the last thing we needed was for you and your stupid policies to help bring America's No. 1 enemy to the brink of global domination. Yet, that's exactly what you did -- in areas like quantum computing and artificial intelligence. And now you and all the other establishment idiots have the nerve to criticize President Trump for trying to clean up your mess by at last standing up to China." • What about foreign policy?? Hilton says this : " 'How do you, as President the United States, ignore your Secretary of Defense and just about everybody else on the foreign policy landscape that matters?' asked 'Morning Joe' co-host Joe Scarborough. 'Everybody who matters.' I think you misspoke, Joe. You surely meant, everybody who got it wrong -- for decades. On issue after issue, yes, Trump is barging in. Yes, he is throwing out the old playbook. It's called change, and unlike Obama, who talked endlessly about change, President Trump is actually delivering it. According to the Brown University 'Cost of Wars' project, the combined cost of America’s post-9/11 wars has climbed to almost $6 trillion dollars. And a combined study led by university researchers around the world found that about a half million people died in Iraq as a result of war-related causes between 2003 and 2011. When President Trump tries to change course, what does he get from the people who brought us these horrific failures? Criticism. 'There’s something ringing in my ears -- the impulsivity of the commander-in-chief – the impulsivity and absence of a strategy with American national security,' MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace, former White House director of communications under President George W. Bush, said recently. The 'impulsivity'? What? Nicolle Wallace literally helped persuade America to go to war on a lie -- one of the costliest and bloodiest wars in modern history. But oh no. When President Trump announces his intention to withdraw from Syria and wean the Middle East off of its reliance on a US presence, suddenly he’s the one who's destabilizing the area. What a total joke these people are!" • • • DEAR READERS, President Trump is cleaning up after the decades of the gigantic messes created by the east coast / west coast intelligentsia, military, politicians, experts, and pundits. Donald Trump was elected because he wanted to make those changes -- to clean up that mess -- and America agreed and elected him. Neither the President nor his supporters expect thanks or support from the Swamp full of dunces. We will get the job done without them because that is the only way it will get done. "On Time and Under Budget." Just like President Trump promised.
