Support President Obama on Answering al-Assad's Use of Chemical Weaponsl

Syria today : US Secretary of State John Kerry spoke today. He said US intelligence is clear - more than 1400 dead in the 21 August Syrian chemical attack, 400 of them children. Kerry said the Intel is sure - it was the al-Assad regime that launched the attack. The UN inspection team "can tell us nothing rhat we do not already know." Kerry said Americans are weary of war : "I am, too," he added. "But that does not excuse us from our duty." Then, later today, President Obama spoke. "We are looking at the possibility of a limited, one-time act." The President said a military solution will not solve the Syrian problem. ~~~~~ Dear readers, it is now time to rally behind President Obama. Democrat - Republican - Independent - International. Whether you support Obama or detest him. Whether you are a Harry Reid liberal or a tea partier. Whetber you detest war or support military intervention. Whether you are in favor of continued Middle East activism or of withdrawing and pulling up the ladder. ~~~~~ There are moments when America must stand up for humanity. No one else can unless we lead. France still stands with us. But if we were completely alone, it would make no difference. Gassing children and civilians is beyond the pale. Let your elected officials in Washington...let the White House...know you support delivering the message to al-Assad that he may not use chemical weapons. How will you sleep at night if you do not stand up when it counts. It is a phrase we Anglo-Saxons...we Americans...may I add, we French...know only too well - the call to honor of King Henry in Shakespeare's Henry V : "This story shall the good man teach his son; And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by, From this day to the ending of the world, But we in it shall be remember'd; We few, we happy few, we band of brothers."

  2. To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
    Ecclesiastes 3:1

To expect unchanging happiness in a changing world, must end in disappointment. To bring ourselves to our state in life, it is our duty and wisdom in this world.

Everyone has a job ... and they must be allowed to do their job.

The time for talking, asking, begging, hypothesizing, planning, seeking help, wanting the perfect plan (that doesn't ever exists)is over. Now let the countries that wish to be involved, be involved. the countries that want to stay home, there they can stay.

"We few, we happy few, we band of brothers." are ready and willing to go into the Lion's den. That is our job.

  4. As the world adjusts and tries to come to grips with all the uncertainty of a possible invasion of Syria there are warning signs on the horizon that should be looked at. Not for authentication to go or not go into Syria via a humanity effort, but for the worldwide economic reaction that could be forthcoming.

At the start the today’s (8/30/2013) business on Wall Street in NYC all except the Hang Sang (China) markets were drastically lower. Bellwether stocks were down. Currencies were fluctuating for NO good reason. Consumer confidence and therefore consumer spending was headed down still further.

The price of precious metals was headed much lower. And OIL was going up – approaching $110.00 a barrel for sweet crude on the open market. A few short years ago this same commodity was trading at (or near) $60.00 a barrel.

My point! It’s simple the world’s economies were in trouble to start with. An unwelcome war/clash for whatever reasons may just be the anchor that grinds the financial health of many counties that are today questionable to a halt.

We in the West have the resources and still untapped supplies of oil to drastically minimize the value and market wide influence by Russia, OPEC, Venezuela, and various other nefarious producer of the Black Gold the world is dependent upon.

Could any of us come close to explaining the chaos that would besiege the OPEC nations if the US and Canada could put the habitat of some furry little fly aside and form a joint venture. Suddenly they would approach the Infidel West with respect – I think.

But now is the time to speak with one voice, loud and clear, leaving No room for misunderstanding what our goals are and are not. I for one hope that is what this president will choose to do.
