While Democrats Spout Gibberish, President Trump Makes Real Progress in Saudi Arabia
President Trump is doing very well in Saudi Arabia, restoring the ties that Barack Obama severed in his presidency. And, Republicans are
coming to the aid of their unfairly attacked President, defending Trump more than ever and reminding us of the sins of the Obama presidency. Perhaps it is because the shock of the unprecedented assault on their leader has worn off and their anger has kicked in. • • • NEXT GINGRICH SPEAKS OUT. Just before President Trump left for his international trip, former Speaker Newt Gingrich, a Republican who fully supportsTrump, wrote an article for Fox News. In it, he said : "Republicans, in particular the Trump administration, are approaching a historic decision that will shape America for generations to come. The endless hostility of the Left, exemplified by violent fascists on college campuses, thugs in the streets, determined disrupters at town hall meetings, and the dishonest elite media are all part of their efforts to defeat the reforms and changes that President Trump was elected to implement. The constant, anonymous leaks from disgruntled federal bureaucrats aim to provide ammunition for the propaganda news media to press the attack. The Left’s dance of destruction is stunningly choreographed." Gingrich noted that he has himself been traveling overseas and said : "It has been sickening to see so many foreigners terrified because they unknowingly believe the news media’s false reports and vicious attacks. The only version of President Trump they know is the one portrayed in the 24-hour cesspool of CNN and the daily acrimony of the New York Times. Sadly, our own nation’s news media is doing more to undermine America's image than Al Jazeera or Pravda combined. As the media continues to serve as a megaphone for the nameless federal employees who have axes to grind, remember that 95% of 2016 campaign donations from federal employees went to Hillary Clinton. At the State Department, 99% of employees who gave supported Clinton, and that figure is 97% at the Department of Justice." Newt said Republicans "must decide if they are going to fight for what they believe in or retreat to the tenuous safety of the beltway bubble." But, he continued : "The Trump White House faces an even greater challenge. Trying to reason with, placate, or even respond to the Washington news media is a losing game. Each day, the opposition media is fiercely committed to either magnifying a supposed problem or inventing a new one. We are today in a one-sided cultural civil war. The Left has picked the battlefield and defined the terms of engagement. If conservatives respond to this aggressive, sometimes violent hostility from the Left with confusion, uncertainty, and appeasement, we are guaranteed to lose the struggle to drain the swamp and reform Washington." As Newt so correctly put it : "Further, surrendering will destroy America as we know it. Far from making America great again, we will have yielded our country to left-wing thugs, liars, and intimidators. Those of us who truly want to make America great again have one choice: Fight. Our situation is similar to President Lincoln’s in 1861. He had to make the choice between fighting until he won or giving up on the idea of the United States. Once again, our country is at stake. Senate Republicans are well-positioned because there are 10 Democratic senators up for re-election in states President Trump won last November. These Democrats should be made to carry the burden of the collapsing ObamaCare system and the pain it is causing in their states. They should be made to own every strand of expensive red tape they vote to keep and every Homeland Security measure they oppose. They should be held accountable for every crime in their states committed by criminal aliens protected by sanctuary city laws." Gingrich is calling on all Republicans to get busy in their districts to be sure that Republicans are re-elected, that GOP challengers are on the ballot to take seats from Democrats, andthat as many new GOP Senatros as possible are elected to fight against this "all-out political war." Gingrich had straightforward advice for President Trump : "The Trump White House, however, faces the biggest decisions. Members of the Trump team have used harsh words but timid tactics when dealing with the unending, dishonest, and vicious assaults by the left-wing media....The next few months will see one of the greatest decisions in American history. Do we fight to make America great again, or do we surrender to those who claim the elitist power to dictate to the rest of us? There is no middle ground." • • • SENATOR GRAHAM SAYS CLINTON CAMPAIGN CONTACTED DOJ. Fox News reported on Friday that Senator Lindsey Graham made a surprise statement Thursday on "America's News HQ," saying he believes operatives in the Clinton campaign emailed the Justice Department during the email investigation. Graham said he has "reason to believe" the communications exist and said he would like to see them turned over to the Senate Judiciary Committee, of which he is a member. Graham said : "If there was a communication to the Department of Justice about an ongoing investigation from people who are the subject of the investigation, I want to know that." His claim comes as President Trump has been accused of obstructing the Michael Flynn investigation, according to a report on a memo of former FBI Director. Graham weighed in on the appointment of former FBI Director Robert Mueller as special counsel to investigate any ties between Russia and the Trump campaign. Graham said he hasn't seen any evidence of criminal activity by President Trump so far. He said the appointment of a special counsel : "knocks Congress out of the game for all practical purposes."Now I think the public will be one of the biggest losers of this decision." Graham noted that public hearings with Comey or other figures are now unlikely. • • • LIMBAUGH ASKS WHEN WE WILL SEE COMEY NOTES FROM OBAMA MEETINGS. Rush Limbaugh questioned whether the American people will get to see former FBI Director James Comey's memos from meetings with President Barack Obama. Limbaugh, on his radio program, was reacting to the report from the New York Times, which cited memos written by Comey claiming
President Trump pressured him to end the investigation into Michael Flynn. Congress is now vowing to subpoena the memos and have Comey testify publicly following his firing by Trump. Limbaugh asked : "If the FBI director's been keeping memos on meetings with everybody and he doesn't run the Department of Justice. I mean, we're not talking about J. Edgar Hoover here, or are we?" New York Post columnist Michael Goodwin made a similar comparison, calling him "J. Edgar Comey" a few months ago. In his column Wednesday, Goodwin wrote : "It is noteworthy that he never complained about Trump until he was fired. He learned his Hoover lessons well, which is why I called him J. Edgar Comey two months ago. Maybe he really was, like his famed predecessor, too big to fire. Ironically, one reason Trump fired him is that Comey refused to investigate leaks from within the administration of classified material, some of it bearing on national security. My view is that Comey may have been hesitant to investigate because he knew some of the leaks came from the FBI." Goodwin said on Fox News' "America's Newsroom" that Hoover created the FBI, but no one "could get rid of him," explaining that six Presidents wanted to fire him, but Hoover died in office : "He set up this power center where he was above accountability. I think that's what Comey was beginning to get to." Goodwin said it would be important to release any notes Comey took of his meetings with former Attorney General Loretta Lynch. • Maybe Comey is the 'fly on the wall' for many gaps in the Democrats' stories about what happened under Obama and in the Hillary campaign. • • • LAVROV DENIES COMEY WAS DISCUSSED. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Saturday he did not discuss the firing of the former FBI Director James Comey with US President Donald Trump. Lavrov was quoted on Interfax : "We did not touch this issue at all." The New York Times has reported that Trump told Lavrov and Russian ambassador Sergei Kislyak at a White House meeting last week that firing Comey relieved "great pressure" the president faced from a law-enforcement probe into Russian meddling in the 2016 election. • • • THE DEMOCRAT NATIONAL COMMITTEE IS BEING SUED BY BERNIE SANDERS. This is a story that the mainstream media has not touched. Here are the facts provided by Liberty Headlines and
LifeZette : "The attorneys for 2016 supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders who are suing Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the
Democratic National Committee for fraud say they are 'perplexed' as to why the case has gotten so little coverage in the media. 'This
seems like an important case, as important as you can get,' attorney Cullin O’Brien told LifeZette on Tuesday. In the suit, Wilding v. DNC,
the Sanders supporters and their attorneys claim Schultz and the Democratic National Committee defrauded them out of their money by
pledging to be neutral when in fact the committee was working, from early on, to help Hillary Clinton -- and only Hillary Clinton. They accuse them of 'intentional, willful, wanton and malicious' conduct. They also accuse the DNC and its chairwoman, Wasserman Schultz, of
negligent misrepresentation, violation of a local District of Columbia law, unjust enrichment, breach of fiduciary duty, and negligence for
failing 'to use and exercise reasonable and due care in obtaining, retaining and securing the personal and financial information provided to
them' by people who donated to the committee." The class-action suit was filed on June 28, 2016, after leaked emails from the computers
of the DNC, published by hacker Guccifer 2.0, revealed that it was working to promote the candidacy of Hillary Clinton from the very start,
despite public pledges to remain neutral. In a May 2015 memo that was released, the committee laid out different methods of attack to
“muddy the waters” around Clinton’s vulnerabilities, methods that included “working through the DNC” to “utilize reporters” and generating
stories in the media “with no fingerprints.” The Sanders lawsuit states : “Despite there being every indication that the 2016 Democratic
primary would be contested by multiple candidates, including Sanders, the DNC memo makes no mention of any Democratic candidate except Clinton, and builds the DNC’s election strategy on the assumption that Clinton will be the nominee, with no doubts attached.” The case, attorney O’Brien says, is not really about the election itself : “I wouldn’t call this an election case. It’s a fraud case. You don’t have a
right to take people’s money under false pretenses.” The lawsuit complaint cites Article 5, Section 4, of the DNC Charter, which says that
as head of the DNC, the chair, particularly in preparation for and conduct of the presidential nominating process, “shall exercise impartiality and evenhandedness.” The class-action suit names 150 plaintiffs from 45 states and the District of Columbia representing three classes: donors to the DNC, donors to Sanders, and all members of the Democratic Party. It was filed in US District Court for the Southern District of Florida. The judge, William Zloch, is now considering a motion to dismiss. A hearing was held on the motion on April 25, with the DNC’s lawyer arguing, in essence, that the Democratic National Committee is not legally bound by its charter, and can favor one candidate over others if it wants to. • The media blackout of the case has been so extreme that a LifeZette search in Google News for lead plaintiff “Carol Wilding” and DNC "produced just one article. Not one article in the past month or year. But one article total, a May 13 piece on the liberal progressive website Salon. The media is doing its best to hide the DNC’s elephant in the room." Senator Sanders and the other plaintiffs are seeking a return of the money they donated to the Democratic National Committee, along with attorney fees, costs, and also “special damages” and “exemplary/punitive damages...in an amount sufficient to deter and make an example of defendants.” O’Brien says
the plaintiffs will not settle the case for any amount. “We want our day in court,” he told LifeZette. • • • OBAMA SOUGHT WAYS TO
SHARE INTEL WITH CUBA. While the Democrats and their lapdogs media are excoriating President Trump for discussing classified information with the Russian foreign minister, Daily Caller News Foundation reported last week that in one of his last directives as president, Barack Obama ordered the intelligence community to explore opportunities to share information with Cuba, despite the communist nation’s persistent counterintelligence threat. The Daily Caller says the order was "part of a larger directive Obama signed in October, which intended to 'normalize' relations with Cuba. It tasked the Office of the Director of National Intelligence with finding opportunities to work with the communist regime on mutual security issues. Obama signed the directive despite former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper’s warning in February 2016 that Cuba still represented a counterintelligence threat, as The Federalist’s Sean Davis noted Tuesday." Obam overrode DNI Clapper and the directive says : "“The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) will support broader United States Government efforts to normalize relations with Cuba, with Intelligence Community elements working to find opportunities for engagement on areas of common interest through which we could exchange information on mutual threats with Cuban counterparts." The Associated Press in January 2016 characterized the directive as a “pledge to share intelligence with Cuban state security." • • • NUNES WARNED OBAMA IN 2016 ABOUT RUSSIA. In a Fox News interview with Bret Baier last week, Representative Devin Nunes, retiring chairman of the Hosue Intelligence Committee, said it is "beyond ridiculous" that Democrats are sounding the alarm about Russian interference in the presidential election after the Obama administration a year ago downplayed his warnings about US intelligence failures regarding Russia. Nunes said : "And now every time you turn around everything's about Russia, Russia, Russia. I warned them a year ago. They ignored it." • Nunes suggested everyone "keep their powder dry," and let special counsel Robert Mueller run the investigation into the Trump campaign's potential ties to Russia. Nunes again said he had yet to see any evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow, echoing the statements of many of his fellow Republican members of Congress : "I think the investigations that are ongoing in the House and Senate need to be very, very careful as to not get into the wrong lane, so that you mess up some investigation." • • • SOROS FUNDED PENNYSYLVANIA DISTRICT ATTORNEY RACE. Fox News reported last week that big bucks from George Soros helped turn a Pennsylvania district attorney election on its head, in the latest example of the liberal billionaire’s influence in local US politics. On April 28, Soros poured nearly $1.5 million into the Philadelphia Justice and Public Safety PAC, which supported candidate Larry Krasner in the Democratic primary. Krasner won by a wide margin. He is expected to win the general election this fall, because Philadelphia is a Democratic stronghold. How much of a difference the PAC money made is unclear, but the cash infusion helped pay for TV commercials, campaign literature, and online ads to promote the candidacy of the civil rights attorney who has never worked as a prosecutor. The race marked the first time a super PAC has supported a DA candidate in
Philadelphia. Krasner, as the Daily Caller puts it, benefited from “the kind of capital typically reserved for important national political
campaigns.” • It’s not the first time Soros has pumped cash into local D.A. races, in an apparent bid to shape the approach to law
enforcement on the ground level. Last August, Politico reported that Soros had channeled more than $3 million into seven local district-
attorney campaigns in six states over the past year. The Washington Times looked at all of 2015 and 2016, reporting Soros sunk more than $7 million into at least 11 local prosecutor races in 10 states in that period. The report described it as part of “an effort to implement
criminal justice reform from the inside.” • • • A MICHIGAN TRUMP SUPPORTER SPEAKS OUT. A man who said he was ridiculed by friends and family for supporting Donald Trump had an impassioned message for the President and for Republicans. Speaking to Pete Hegseth on Fox & Friends from the 3 Sons Diner in Warren, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit, Wil DeOrsey Jr. explained that he is a lifelong Republican who is troubled by what he's seeing in Washington, DC. Hegseth asked DeOrsey what he would tell President Trump amid a tumultuous week for the White House. DeOrsey gave an answer full of widdom : "Don't try to win over the people who don't support you. They're never gonna support you. There's nothing you can do to please them. Remember: the people who elected you are still strongly behind you. We have your back," he said, imploring the president to move forward with his campaign promises. De Orsey said he knocked on doors in support of Trump, observed at polling places and was even kicked out of his barber shop over his Trump support in the usually-blue state. Trump surprisingly defeated Hillary Clinton in Michigan, becoming the first Republican to carry the state since George Bush in 1988. DeOrsey also expressed frustration with Republicans in Congress, arguing they are not supporting the president as Democrats continue to focus attention on the Russia investigation : "My God! Stand up and support our president! This is our party. You guys are silent....The Republican supporters voted for Donald Trump. You're obligated to support Donald Trump." • • • OBAMA CALLS IT "COURAGEOUS" TO LET ASSAD GASS HIS OWN PEOPLE. Fix this Nation reports that in an interview with Jack Schlossberg last week, former President Barack Obama said that he showed a tremendous amount of courage when he allowed Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad to gas his own people without facing any punishment for the genocide. On the evening he was to accept the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage award, Obama was asked about the most difficult choices he had to make while occupying the White House. Obama's answer : “Well, the hardest issue that I dealt with was always sending out young men and women into harm’s way -- our troops. But I actually think that the issue that required the most political courage was the decision not to bomb Syria after the chemical weapons use had been publicized, and rather to negotiate them removing chemical weapons from Syria. Now, we know subsequently that some remained, so it was an imperfect solution. But what we also know is that 99% of huge chemical weapons stockpiled were removed without us having to fire a shot.” • And we poor fools thought Obama was trying to be "courageous" when in 2012 Obama warned Assad : "We have been very clear to the Assad regime that a red line for us is we start seeing a whole bunch of chemical weapons moving around or
being utilized. That would change my calculus; that would change my equation.” • Obama used this bizarre and, frankly disgusting, example of what he considers political courage a short time after President Trump bombed a Syrian airfield in response to Assad’s latest chemical attack. In the interview, Obama argued that using military force against the regime would have been the easy choice. Obama's self-aggrandizing gibberish is appalling : “As president, what you discover is that you generally get praised for taking military action and
you’re often criticized for not doing so. And it wasn’t a slam dunk, but I thought it made sense for a variety of reasons for us to see if we could actually try to eliminate the prospect of large-scale chemical weapons use rather than the political expedience of a one-time shot.” • Obama's "courage" did not eliminate chemical weapons in al-Assad's possession and it did not protect Syrains frmo being killed by
gassing. Would the children who were gassed to death in the recent Syrian strike find Obama’s decision "courageous"? But, as Fix This
Nation pointed out, when we are dealing with : "a president who saw Iran as an ally and Israel as an enemy; Trayvon Martin as a hero and
police as villains; private enterprise as destructive and government as the One True Answer -- it’s not surprising that he would confuse
cowardice for courage. • • • TRUMP GETS SPECTACULAR WELCOME IN SAUDI ARABIA. President Trump's near-royal reception in Riyadh is a signal to the world, and to Saudi subjects, that big changes are coming. The elderly and frail King Salman went out onto the tarmac apron in 110-degree heat and actually shook Melania Trump's hand as she deplaned Air Force One, thereby touching a female infidel. Perhaps even more important in terms of Saudi daily life, the women in attendance at functions did not wear head coverings and abayas. The entire nation saw this on television and understands that the global oil glut caused by AMerican fracking has changed everything, because the world no longer lives in fear of a cutoff of Saudi oil. • Change is coming. King Salman signaled that the restrictions declared by the Wahhabi clergy are no longer the ultimate arbiter of personal behavior, and that Saudis are going to have to start respecting the customs of others. It's clear that the king and his two designated successors have made a deal to liberalize Saudi Arabia. Deal-maker President Trump has leveraged American petroleum independence and military might to gain concessions from the Kingdom if it wants continued US support. The radical Wahhabi clergy and Saudi-funded mosques they brought with them prepared the soil for al-Qaeda at home and abroad. Thomas Lifson of American Thinker said : "Make no mistake, there is every possibility that a violent reaction or a coup within the Royal Family....The clergy are important because they preach to the Saudi masses and could whip them up into an attempt at an overthrow of the corrupt royals, who siphon off so much of Allah's bounty for their own decadent pleasures....That is why Saudi Arabia has such a large investment in its security forces....The royals are in a very delicate position. The dominant faction, the king and his two designated successors, have to loosen things up gradually, step by step, so as to not put their opponents over the edge into a revolt that would brutally slaughter untold numbers, quite possibly including themselves....They have already agreed to a deal to reward President Trump with a massive arms purchase worth $109.7 billion. That's jobs and profits. But this aspect of the deal, from the New York Times, is important : "On the afternoon of May 1, President Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, welcomed a high-level delegation of Saudis to a gilded reception room next door to the White House and delivered a brisk pep talk: 'Let's get this done today.' Mr. Kushner was referring to a $100 billion-plus arms deal that the administration hoped to seal with Saudi Arabia in time to announce it during Mr. Trump's visit to the kingdom this weekend. The two sides discussed a shopping list that included planes, ships and precision-guided bombs. Then an American official raised the idea of the Saudis' buying a sophisticated radar system designed to shoot down ballistic missiles. Sensing that the cost might be a problem, several administration officials said, Mr. Kushner picked up the phone and called Marillyn A. Hewson -- the chief executive of Lockheed Martin, which makes the radar system -- and asked her whether she could cut the price. As his guests watched slack-jawed, Ms. Hewson told him she would look into it, officials said." • Kushner's personal intervention in the arms sale is evidence ofTrump's readiness to favor informal, hands-on deal making. It also offers a window into how the administration hopes to change America's position in the Middle East, emphasizing hard power and haggling over traditional diplomacy. • Read another way, said Lifson : "An Orthodox Jew, married to the favored child of the President (who became a Jew herself), saved them money using his personal connections. Call me suspicious, but I think this was carefully planned theatre. You have to see this against the background of the sudden new confluence of interests between Israel and Saudi Arabia, united in opposition to Iran and Arab radical Islamic terrorists. The two nations already covertly cooperate, a ruse that cannot last forever. Slowly and surely, the Saudis have to turn away from the Palestinians and toward an embrace of Israel. And it turns out that there can be a considerable upside to making peace with Israel and the Jews." • We will watch for the gradual breaking down of the barriers between Israel and the Saudi Kingdom. They are sure to follow. In fact, President Trump's planned nonstop Air Force One flight from Riyadh and Ben Gurion Airport in Israel will be the first publicly known flight between the two nations. So Trump is already liberalizing their aviation restrictions. Lifson says : "Allowing Israeli airliners to fly over Saudi territory would be a good first step toward eventual direct flights, a sign of complete acceptance of Israel as a legitimate nation, which is the only long-term solution to peace between Arabs and Jews in the Middle East. • • • DEAR READERS, as we consider the sins and stupidity of the Progressive Democrat opposition to President Trump, he was busy doing immensely more important things. He gave his major speech to most of the leaders of the Arab and Moslem world in Saudi Arabia on Sunday. They came from the Middle East, Asia and Africa to hear Trump's call for cooperation to defeat Islamic terrorism, to bring Iran back from its terrorist regime status to the Moslem center, and to embrace peace as the means to prosperity and global development. The President recognized who and what terrorism is doing to Moslem countries and peoples and asked them to join America in their own defense against the barbarism of terrorism and the evil it promotes, saying : "A better future is only possible if your nations drive out the terrorists and drive out the extremists. Drive them out. Drive them out of your places of worship, drive them out of your communities, drive them out of your holy land and drive them out of this earth. Trump was really saying join us and we will support your fight; stay on the side lines and you will certainly lose in this battle of Good vs Evil. He set the tone for his administration, apologized for nothing, and told the Moslem, and especially the Arab, world that there is room for them and their religion alongside the Jews and all other religions of the world. President Trump has set out on a path that may well be monumental in the end. It is certainly the most generous offer of friendship and help the Moslem world will ever get. Let us all hope, and pray, that their leaders have the wisdom and integrity to accept President Trump's offer. It may be the last one they will ever get.

Because of space restraints I have to make this comment in 2 entries. So toady I'll have 2 comments with the second being a continuation of the first.
ReplyDeleteDonald is off to an unbelievable start on his trip to the Middle east , etc. But at home he is still being dogged by the Deep State democratics and those RHINO republicans that just can't do anything except to roll over and play dead for the witch hunting democratics.
Any and all of Presidents Trump's success will be negated by the MSM over what is as yet charges with NO FOUNDATION OF PROOF.
Everything in Washington is now relative and tribal. Each side now competes for elections only to impose their own morality and choices on the people as a whole. With the left, they demand unending culture war. We must all they say accept and pay for abortion and we must all accept and provide goods and services to gay weddings. We cannot decide this by state, as the founders intended. The Democrats and GOP both want to use Washington as they see fit with no real restraints on their agendas.
The founders intended Washington to be useful for little and the states to be useful for much. Not anymore. Both sides have incorporated the Bill of Rights against the states, which the founders expressly did not and which were only done through Supreme Court divination in the twentieth century.
The stakes have grown so high as five black robed masters demand their morality be imposed on 320 million people and the federal government insists a heterogeneous people be homogenized. There is no room on either side for diversity of thought. The tribe, not the nation, is all that matters.
Washington is dysfunctional and our President no matter who he is corralled by the Deep State is at the end of the rope.. The left will give an unorthodox president no benefit of any doubt and the GOP will excuse their every action it seems in order to be re-elected.
Our nation is broken. It does not work. Neither side has an ounce of grace for the other. Traditional values are now racism to the left. College campuses silence dissent in ways that would make Hitler proud. Washington is supposed to do everything. And Washington does nothing well. Outrage is defined by party, not objective truth. There seems to be no truth in Washington DC now only charges that are never asked for corroboration.(2nd half followers)
(part 2 from above)
ReplyDeletePerhaps it is time we end this experience. Few people really want a country as the founders envisioned and those of us who do are assailed from both sides. The stakes have been escalated beyond any amount of reason and should the Democrats eventually take back the White House, which they will, everything they have attacked Trump for will suddenly be embraced and every Republican who has defended Trump will attack the future Democrat President.
Let’s not pretend otherwise. We have Democrats running Republican congressmen off the road and reporters writing stories justifying it. We have environmental wackos blaming global warming on too many people, but they refuse to go first and kill themselves. We have Republican congressmen targeting businesses whose employees oppose the congressmen. It is only a matter of time before real shots are fired. Democrats are convinced the President is committing treason and Republicans are war criminals. Meanwhile, conservatives are convinced the left has created an existential threat against their cultural existence.
I ask how many Americans would die because of a Barack Obama’s type failed policies. The same must be asked of a main stream GOP President – if one is ever elected again. And we must all legitimately ask how many Americans will be killed by their fellow American because of once trivial political differences that are now treated as crimes against humanity.
Our national union is fraying at the seams and I think we have reached the point where it is best to go on and tear it into fifty pieces and move on, each state its own.
The only real alternative should be an immediate repeal of the fourteenth and seventeenth amendments so that national elections become more diffuse through state legislative elections and the demands of moral and cultural homogeneity through conjured divinations in equal protection die by the wayside. Force each state, its laws, and its morality to be relevant again. That is the only way to preserve the nation.
But in lieu of the above then the logical option is the United States of America ceases and in its place is 50 individual states each deciding where on the political spectrum they land and prosper or fail on their own initiative and resourcefulness.
The break up must be as abrupt and precise as a divorced couple. 50 individual states all on their own to succeed or be absorbed by neighboring states that seem to know how to govern to the needs of the people.
Certainly the most unlikely of ideas, but the American people are less and less confident with their government. The Deep State is becoming unimaginably powerful. Rebellion of the masses is not a thing of disbelief any longer.
Tens of thousands of people purchase a case of ammunition vs a case of wine to store. I know people that have a stash of over 50,000 rounds of various legal ammunition.
I have spent my entire adult life in the defense of this country and its system of democracy. But I have also watch freedoms and elected leadership slip into the abyss.
So the real question now is …Perhaps It is Time to Dissolve Our Union and go our separate ways – on the path our citizens desire to take.
If we have reached the home stretch with this great experiment, and if anyone is interested enough to look at the facts of the demise of the GOP & American democracy they need to ponder the lack of ‘conservative republicans’ standing FIRM for the conservative beliefs and yielding to the social experiments and granting “rights” where government and/or humans have no standing to do.
I hope that the connection of my comment and Casey Pops posting is not to 'cryptic'.
This is comment is a summary of sorts of a 18 page article I wrote for a private association news letter.
If conservatives are right about the importance of virtue, morality, religious faith, stability, character and so on in the individual; if they are right about sexual morality or what came to be termed “family values”; if they are right about the importance of education to inculcate good character and to teach the fundamentals that have defined knowledge in the West for millennia; if they are right about societal norms and public order; if they are right about the centrality of initiative, enterprise, industry, and thrift to a sound economy and a healthy society; if they are right about the soul-sapping effects of paternalistic Big Government and its cannibalization of civil society and religious institutions; if they are right about the necessity of a strong defense and prudent statesmanship in the international sphere—if they are right about the importance of all this to national health and even survival, then they must believe—mustn’t they?—that we are headed off a cliff, which we are.
ReplyDeleteIs it possible that American Middle East Policy will no longer be based on the foolishness of the theory that the enemy of my enemy is my friend?
ReplyDeleteWill Donald Trump take the lead in some personal diplomacy, roll up his sleeves and get something done.
Or has he already got something done and what we are seeing is the finishing window dressings?
