GOP : Get on Board the Trump Train before You Get Run Over

Before Super Tuesday, the GOP, Democrats and mainstream media threw the kitchen sink at Donald Trump. It didn't work. ~~~~~ The last pre-Super Tuesday CNN "poll" shows Clinton beats Trump, while Cruz and Rubio beat her. This is hyped to say Trump can't win the election. But, the New York Post says Trump can even beat Hillary in New York in November. Confidential polls of state legislative races in New York show Trump potentially defeating Clinton in the heavily Democratic state. Trump support has become “surprisingly strong,” the Post says. “There are some Democrats who think that Hillary can be taken if Trump mounts a strong campaign,’’ according to one of NY’s most prominent Democrats. The polls also found that Clinton often had higher negative ratings with voters. A GOP analyst told the Post : “In the suburbs and upstate, Trump has a net positive while Hillary has a net negative. She’s more of a liability than many Democrats realized.” The polls also found greater intensity among Trump’s potential voters than among Clinton’s, a finding that mirrors the stronger GOP turnouts seen in the presidential primaries. So, be patient. After both parties' nominating conventions, polls will be much more predictive. ~~~~~ The entire GOP and mainstream media were demanding pre-Super Tuesday that Trump authorize release of a secret audio of him telling the New York Times off-the-record he’s not really going to seal borders or build a wall. How implausible can the Left be? Why would Donald Trump be stupid enough to make a campaign-killing admission in a recorded meeting with the New York Times? -- The NYT has hated and attacked Trump for years. Trump voters see this for what it is -- a GOP/Democrat/mainstream-media smear cooked up to damage him on Super Tuesday. On Saturday, columnist Gail Collins, who attended the meeting, wrote in her column : “The most optimistic analysis of Trump as a presidential candidate is that he just doesn’t believe in positions, except the ones you adopt for strategic purposes when you’re making a deal. So you obviously can’t explain how you’re going to deport 11 million undocumented immigrants, because it’s going to be the first bid in some future monster negotiation session.” BuzzFeed says sources familiar with the recording and transcript have told it that the second sentence is a bit more than speculation. It reflects something Trump said about the flexibility of his hard-line anti-immigration stance. But, we know Trump pretty well. He undoubtedly was analyzing his negotiating choices for getting America back in charge of its borders and immigration laws and policy. Trump has said many times on the record that once his grand scheme of deporting all illegals has borne fruit, a process will be put in place to let “the good ones” come back in. Soundbites of him calling for a “path” for illegals are already in Republican attack ads. In "The Art of the Deal," Trump wrote that if you compromise, ask for about three times more than you want, so you get what you really want. That’s probably what Trump told the Times -- he'll demand total deportation, Democrats will come back at him with some much lesser number -- say, violent criminals only -- and then they’ll work towards a common number from there. How many Trump voters would revolt if that’s how things play out, with beefier enforcement measures at the border but a more limited number of deportations? ZERO. They know he has no donors to please -- they know he's on their side, on America's side. ~~~~~ Dear readers, Donald Trump has won the trust and become the voice of a large part of the Republican base who are disgusted with the GOP losing brand of Washington insider politics. Since 2010, the base has sent three waves of Senators and Congress members to get America back on track. To no avail. Trump says he will do the job. The GOP base believes he can. Both GOP voters and Donald Trump see 2016 as perhaps their last chance to save a constitutional America. Super Tuesday put Trump in the driver's seat. GOP, get on board before you get run over.
