McCabe Brazenly Admits Deep State Sedition, and Now AG Barr Has No Choice But to Clean House

IT'S PRESIDENTS DAY. Presidents Day is not a holiday I like very much. I celebrate Lincoln's Birthday and Washington's Birthday on the dates. But, since the federal government decided long ago to give federal workers another long weekend by cramming the two important days together, we now call it Presidents Day. You can re-read the February 12 blog to remember President Lincoln. And, on February 22 we'll celebrate the life of President Washington. • Yet, today, as we contemplate the serious challenge facing the Republic, one phrase of Abraham Lincoln, spoken at Gettysburg on November 19, 1863, should be on the lips of every American : "that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain -- that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom -- and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth." • America is just about as close to "perishing from the earth" as it has ever been, perhaps even closer than it was during the Civil War. • • • FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HER HISTORY, AMERICA HAS EXPERIENCED AN ATTEMPTED COUP. And, unless swift and decisive action is taken to bring the perpetrators to justice, America is history. What will reign is the Deep State -- and only those elected officials with the blessing of that Progressive-Democrat-Clintonesque Deep State will ever be allowed to take office, or remain in office if they somehow slip through the Deep State wall. • Let one thing sink in -- the interview that former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe gave to Scott Pelley on CBS's 60 Minutes Sunday is an admission of an attempted coup d'état by the Deep State against a legitimate sitting US President. • Think about that. A bunch of unelected bureaucrats sitting in offices at the FBI and Department of Justice in Washington decided that the election was not to their liking and joined forces -- conspired is the correct legal term -- to overthrow the President of the United States by whatever means were at hand. OVERTHROW the PRESIDENT. The very idea of such a criminal conspiracy should bring cold chills to every spine in America. • McCabe's admission during his interview that he and other top FBI and Justice Department officials seriously considered taking steps including invoking the 25th Amendment to remove President Trump from office in the spring of 2017 is sedition. It is treason in all likelihood. And, Andrew McCabe is so cocky and self-righteously sure of his position and of his protection by the Deep State and its police and judicial functions that he was not even cautious -- he just blurted out that he and his friends in crime decided to get rid of President Trump. No remorse. No apology. Just mind-blowing candor and audacity. • Harvard law professor emeritus and constitutional scholar Alan Dersowitz has been quoted so often that we can almost recite his words from memory : “If true, it is clearly an attempt at a coup d’état.” Dershowitz went even farther in analyzing what McCabe said about Rod Rosenstein : "Let’s talk about Rod Rosenstein. He is the Deputy Attorney General of the United States. He was the acting attorney general for this case. And he is suggesting using the 25th Amendment that was written to take care of a problem of Woodrow Wilson having a stroke or President Reagan being shot and being on the operating table. These guys [McCabe, Rosenstein, et al] are watching House of Cards instead of reading the Constitution. The Constitution is as clear as can be. The 25th Amendment is applicable only if you’re incapacitated. It’s not a substitute for impeachment; it’s not a substitute for an election. And if Rod Rosenstein actually thought about and suggested wiring the President, [and] invoking the 25th Amendment he should be fired before he has an opportunity to resign. He should be disgraced. The Inspector General of the Justice Department should be looking into it. This is as close as this country has ever come to the consideration of a coup d’état -- a constitutionally unlawful coup d’état – against the duly elected President, whether you like him or not, whether you voted against him as I did or not. The Constitution has to prevail. The 25th Amendment has to mean what it says. And when you have a deputy attorney general thinking about circumventing the 25th Amendment, that is close to a Constitutional crisis." • Kimberley Strassel, Wall Street Journal reporter and WSJ editorial board member, advanced the analysis further, telling Fox News : "It’s crazy to have to go here -- but I’m going to go there. Essentially what they were doing is engaging [in], or at least contemplating, a coup. Because, look, this is not the FBI’s job....The FBI’s job is to investigate, is to recommend prosecution, or if it really believes what it believed is happening here, that this President was somehow unfit to serve in office or colluding with the Russians, its job is to inform senior leaders of Congress who can then go down the road of impeachment or to inform other senior members of the cabinet who could look at the 25th Amendment. The FBI has no role here. And the idea that they thought this was appropriate just says everything about Jim Comey, Andy McCabe, and their sense of their own importance and no rules about what they needed to follow in order to -- in their jobs." • America Thinker's Peter Barry Chowka took on the issue of McCabe trying to undo his words : "After CBS News let the cat out of the bag on Thursday with the excerpts of the McCabe interview, McCabe attempted to walk back his quotes that had led to the widespread description of his and his colleagues’ machinations in 2017 as a potential coup. Monica Showalter explored this questionable effort in her blog 'Andrew McCabe scrambles to deny 'coup plotting' ' at American Thinker. Her conclusion reflected what most other thoughtful analysts who have been following the developments were also saying : 'Sorry, big boy, it's time to face the music.' " Chowka states : "The fact that a coup d’état against President Trump was under serious consideration is no longer speculation proposed by fringe 'conspiracy theorists.' The words 'coup' or 'attempted coup' can now be used without qualification or apology in describing the history of the attempts to take down President Trump that went on at some of the highest levels of the federal government in 2017." • Chowka called McCabe's admissions "a disaster for the Deep State." • • • CAN PRESIDENT TRUMP SAVE THE REPUBLIC? Most conservatives would like to see President TRump clean house at the FBI and DOJ -- firing Rosenstein and every senior official on the job in 2016-2017. That would be the fastest way to try to rid the federal police and judicial functions of their corrupt and criminally-suspect Deep State leaders who despise President Trump and are still plotting to get rid of him. • BUT, we know that will not happen -- BECAUSE the Deep State has kowed Congress and co-opted the media to such an extent that President Trump would immediately be subject to Articles of Impeachment brought by the House. While the President would in all likelihood not be impeached in the Senate trial, that is a risk too serious to take since it could lead to the collapse of civil order. • This coup d'état is real and the very idea that President Trump could be impeached for doing his constitutional job tells us just how far advanced the coup d'état is. It is not over. It is not fading. It is alive and aimed at the elected President of the United States. • • • WHO CAN SAVE THE REPUBLIC?? The honest answer to the question is this -- Attorney General Bill Barr is the only person in America who can save the Republic from constitutional collapse. • American Thinker's Michael E. Young wrote on Monday : "Disgraced former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe provided a perfect demonstration of Deep State unaccountability and unapologetic arrogance in his 60 Minutes interview Sunday evening. Our country has endured a two-year political assault on the administration of President Trump, and McCabe wants you to celebrate his own contribution to Comey's 'higher calling' theme. Exactly how a rogue Department of Justice took root is convoluted, but a simple analysis is that the Deep State decided that the best defense is a strong offense. Subsequently, the DOJ unleashed this entire charade to obfuscate all of the misdeeds of the previous administration, leading up to and including the presidential election they actively tried to influence. The sheer audacity of McCabe to openly allege that there was a 25th Amendment coup d'état under consideration by unelected government bureaucrats should be a wake-up call to all citizens. Outside the obvious treachery and desire to sell books, it indicates that McCabe does not believe he will be held accountable for his actions. He's violating the 'deny, deny, deny' tenet of the Left. He must envision himself being carried off the field by an army of useful idiots." • Michael Young nails the problem facing President Trump and America : "The successful two-year hijacking of the DOJ by Obama holdovers might be one of the most remarkable stories in our political history. Is it a sign of things to come? We've been witnessing a proactive deterrent against any public official who dares to defy the Swamp machine and their lefty lapdogs in the mainstream media. We should not simply fear that dirty individuals are poised to get away with high crimes; we should fear that the DOJ has been permanently corrupted by this precedent. Must we be resigned to a two-tier justice system : one for the ruling-class left, and one for the rest of us plebes? It also raises the question : will this happen to the next Republican president? What steps are needed to ensure that it won't?" • Young sees newly sworn in Attorney General William Barr as "out there right now contemplating the level of response required to move forward. Is he inclined to do the bare minimum to sweep this whole thing under the rug, or is he the man of integrity we've heard many proclaim him to be? The level of impact of his future actions cannot be understated....Without equal justice under the law, we are headed down a path to an unrecoverable state. In the same fashion that faith in the dollar is what gives the dollar value in our economic system, faith in the blind administration of justice is what gives citizens faith in our legal system. In a nation of laws, what happens when the laws themselves lose this intrinsic value? We are witnessing the answer to that question on our southern border and in DC. Lawlessness is a cancer that is spreading." • • • DEAR READERS, if the corrupt politicization of the DOJ and FBI is allowed to continue -- to go unpunished -- the next Democrat President will not hesitate to follow Obama's example and further politicize American justice. AND, America may never see another Republican President -- he or she would be prevented from winning by election fraud, including illegal aliens casting votes, and if that failed, another -- this time successful -- coup would rid the Deep State and its ProgDem socialist-marxist elite enablers of the unwanted President. • Michael Young asks a good question : "Who, in his right mind, would sign up to have his life destroyed or the lives of all of his associates destroyed? The precedent could not be clearer : only Democrats and those aligned with the DC establishment get a pass." • We are already witnessing this today as President Trump and his family and senior officials are bombarded with lies, character assassination, and arrest and prosecution for often-fictitious crimes. • Attorney General Barr can stop this cancer. He can expeditiously investigate and prosecute the myriad of crimes that have destroyed the FBI and the DOJ. Again, Young has a list : "The mishandling of classified information by top government officials. Leaking classified information to the press. Spying on an opposition presidential campaign. The FISA court abuses to spy on US citizens. Unlawful unmasking of US citizens. The obstruction of justice by senior DOJ officials relating to all of the above." • We should add to this list the question of ending the reign of terror of Robert Mueller, the useless and destructive special counsel and holding Mueller and his staff accountable. AND, AG Barr must use a firm hand to root out and prosecute all those involved in the coup d'état, starting with McCabe, Strzok, Lisa Page, and Deputy AG Rosenstein. • Does Bill Barr have what it takes? Is he willing to put himself on the line against the Deep State, the elites in the Democrat Party and its Swamp, and their powerful propagandist lapdog media? Does Bill Barr have the guts to clean house? It is asking a lot. But, the reward would be a place of honor in the annals of American history. We will soon enough see if a miracle worker has come to Washington. • McCabe's brazen admissions on CBS seems to suggest that he, for one, believes that AG Barr will do nothing. We must hope -- and pray -- that McCabe is wrong. BECAUSE, if Barr does little or nothing -- then it will be time for President Trump -- who has already bled daily for America -- to give his last ounce of blood to the Republic before the 2020 election and clean house himself. Under a state of martial law, if necessary.
