Guns Are Demonized But SUVs Are Not -- A Sure Sign of an Attack on Conservatives
TODAY'S REAL NEWS IS THAT CELEBRITIES AND PROGRESSIVES ARE PREACHING TO AMERICANS. And it is time to "preach" back. Here are some of the things I would like to tell these holier-than-thou's. • • • TO GABY GIFFORDS -- I'm very sorry that you were shot and have struggled to recover fully, but I do not want your advice about gun control. Every time a gun goes off in America, you raise your hand to be counted "present" for gun control, and it has become a useless repetition. Please stop. We know how you feel about guns, and we can understand why you feel as you do, but leave us alone. • • • TO JOE BIDEN. Read the above note to Gaby Giffords, with the change to say that you are not a gun victim, so you have even less reason to be preaching to America about guns. In addition, you were Vice President, so you swore to uphold the Constitution -- and that includes the Second Amendment. Got it, Joe??? • • • TO THE DEMOCRAT PARTY. America knows your position on gun control. It is to get all guns out of the hands of all Americans. We -- and the Constitution -- respectfully disagree. Why not do something useful instead of preaching at us about taking away our constitutional right to bear arms. For example, you could -- as Democrat Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut so artfully put it about gun control -- tell Congress to "get off its ass and do something” about repealing the catastrophe that is the Obamacare you foisted on America. • • • TO HILLARY. Clinton, of course. We do not care what you think about gun control, or silencers, or anything else. If the misinformation you are trying to spread about silencers in the wake of the Las Vegas shooting is an example of how you would have reacted from the White House, it is just one more proof of why we had the good sense not to elect you. Your tweet : “The crowd fled at the sound of gunshots. Imagine the deaths if the shooter had a silencer, which the NRA wants to make easier to get. Our grief isn’t enough. We can and must put politics aside, stand up to the NRA, and work together to try to stop this from happening again.” As conservative commentator Ben Shapiro, editor in chief of The Daily Wire, said, your tweets were “Ignorant, irrelevant and exploitative.” The only silencer America would like to see is one on your mouth. Stop talking and go away. Please. • • • TO TOM BROKAW. You have become a broken record about gun control. Find another topic to harangue America about. We do not want, nor will we participate in, a national debate about gun control -- because it would be 'loaded' by your Progressive Left to prove to the world that Americans who honor the Second Amendment's right to bear arms are a bunch of bloodthirsty criminals. No, thank you. • • • TO CBS AND HAYLEY GEFTMAN-GOLD. Thank you, CBS, for firing Hayley Geftman-Gold. Her outrageous comment about the Las Vegas shooting was, well, outrageous. She said she “is not even sympathetic” for the victims of the shooting at a country music festival at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas Sunday night. “If they wouldn’t do anything when children were murdered I have no hope that Repugs will ever do the right thing,” wrote Geftman-Gold on Facebook, referring to Sandy Hook. “I’m actually not even sympathetic bc country music fans often are Republican gun toters.” All I can say is that Hayley Geftman-Gold undoubtedly expressed about us Deplorables what everyone on the Progressive Left thinks, and she gave Republicans and all conservatives who respect the Second Amendment a glimpse of what life under the ProgDem jackboot would be like if we were ever foolish enough to give up our firearms. • • • TO PAUL KRUGMAN. We know you are an anti-Trump columnist for the Fake News New York Times, so it is no surprise that you blamed President Trump for a cholera outbreak in Puerto Rico -- that has not actually occurred. Your Nobel Prize for Economics did not give you a license to make medical pronouncements, so please keep your erroneous rants about cholera in Puerto Rico to yourself. That way, you won't have to apologize again for false cholera rumors and correct your nasty tweets meant to bash President Trump. Actually, you really should apologize again -- because your correction tweet received less attention (286) than you fake news tweet that was re-tweeted 10,000 times. • • • TO GOVERNOR KASICH. If you really don't like being a Republican, all you have to do is tear up your card, throw away your elephant and Flag pins, and declare yourself a ProgDem or an Independent, or maybe the founding member of the one-person I-love-John-Kasich Party. We would not miss you and your CNN rants about how neanderthal we GOPers are. If you think your stand against Trump's “anti-immigration and anti-trade” policies is the key to your future success, do not hesitate to take the door leading to the Left. But, just remember how badly your positions failed you when you were a candidate in 2016. • • • TO SAN JUAN MAYOR CRUZ. It is not only politically dangerous to attack the hands that are trying to help your island after Hurricane Maria struck, it is personally dangerous for your citizens. They deserve your participation in everything that is going on as help is delivered. We do not need your ProgDem wailing into a microphone about "begging" for help. Go to a FEMA meeting and you will be surprised at the help pouring into Puerto Rico. Follow the advice of Guaynabo Mayor Angel Perez Otero and FEMA administrator Brock Long, who told CNN today that "the problem that we have with [Yulin Cruz] unfortunately is that unity of command is ultimately what’s needed to be successful in this response"and “what we need is for the mayor, the good mayor, to make her way to the joint field office and get plugged into what’s going on and be successful." Got it, Mayor??? • • • TO FOX SPORTS. Shutting down the playing of the National Anthem before NFL games is not the way to reprimand marxist-socialist BLM players. If you don't want to show the stadiums while the National Anthem is being played, why not run a video of the National Anthem being played by a military band of the young soldiers for whom the Flag and Star Spangled Banner are symbols of their sacrifice and valor. But, do not try to tell us that avoiding the National Anthem is the right approach. It is not !!! • • • TO NFL PROTEST PLAYERS. To put it simply, we are tired of your anti-American rants and antics. Go away. The faster, the better. America is sickened by your lack of respect for its Flag and National Anthem. • • • TO THE BALTIMORE RAVENS. Forget about protests. Concentrate on playing football. Maybe then, your own fans would stop booing you, and you would give the Steelers a good game, instead of losing 26-9. • • • TO RAY LEWIS FANS. Forget about telling America how great a player Ray Lewis was -- we do not argue with that -- and why his statue has to remain outside the Balitmore NFL stadium -- many of us do argue with that. When more than 74,000 people sign a petition calling for Ray Lewis's statue to be removed after the former player knelt during the National Anthem, there is a lesson to be learned about how sacred the Flag and National Anthem are to Americans. Ray Lewis's mother -- and I respect the lady for defending her son -- said : "You can’t erase 17 years of history. You can’t erase two Super Bowls,” it was poetic justice speaking. Where were the Ray Lewis family and supporters when their fellow Black Americans were tearing down statues that represent American history. The lady is right -- you cannot erase history -- nobody's, and no part of it. • • • SOME FACTS -- TERRORISTS TURN TO KNIVES AND SUVs. In OECD countries, ISIS's transnational tactics in combination with lone actor attacks inspired by the group led to a 650% increase in the number of fatalities in 2016 -- 21 of the 34 OECD countries experienced at least one attack, with the majority of deaths occurring in Turkey and France. Denmark, France, Germany, Sweden and Turkey all recorded the most deaths from terrorism in a single year since 2000. More than half of the 577 deaths were in connection to ISIS, whose attacks in Paris, Brussels and Ankara were amongst the most devastating in the history of these countries. A total of 142 people died in terror attacks across Europe in 2016, a death toll on a par with the 148 fatalities in 2015 – but a great increase on the four people who died in 2014, according to new figures from the EU’s law enforcement agency, Europol. • The vast majority of the 2016 fatalities -- 135 of the 142 -- resulted from 13 separate jihadist attacks, six of which were linked to ISIS, according to the annual Europol Terrorism Situation and Trend report. In the brutal terrorist attacks of 2016, 32 people died in two attacks in Brussels in March; 84 died in a lorry attack in Nice in July; an elderly priest was killed in his Normandy church later the same month; and 12 more were killed in the Berlin Christmas market attack. Similarly, the increase in deaths during 2015 was largely accounted for by two attacks in France at the beginning and end of the year -- the first on the offices of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo that January, and the co-ordinated attacks in Paris in November, in which 130 died in three locations. In each of those two years hundreds of victims were left with life-changing injuries. In 2016, says the report, 379 people were injured, many of them seriously -- again, on a par with some 350 people who were hurt, some badly, in 2015. • Bombs, guns and knives have traditionally been the tools of choice for terrorists, but in 2016, deadly mass violence turned to motor vehicles. Six of the last nine multiple-casualty terrorist attacks in western Europe have used trucks, vans or SUVs that are driven into public crowds, sometimes over long stretches before the attackers are brought to a stop. The violence sometimes continues when attackers flee their vehicles and inflict further damage in the surrounding area using large knives. Terrorism that begins with vehicle contact has been particularly deadly in the last few years. Here is a list : August 17, 2017, Barcelona, Spain -- a van plowed into pedestrians in the Las Ramblas tourist area, killing 13 and injuring more than 100, according to officials. June 3, 2017, London, England -- a van was driven into crowds on London Bridge, after which the attackers left their vehicle and stabbed several people in the area; 7 people were killed and nearly 50 injured. April 7, 2017, Stockholm, Sweden -- a truck was driven into a Swedish department store, killing four people. March 22, 2017, London, England -- an SUV drove into crowds in London near Parliament; 4 people were killed by the vehicle, and one police officer was stabbed after the driver left the vehicle. December 19, 2016, Berlin, Germany -- a truck was driven into crowds at a Christmas market, killing 12 people. July 14, 2016, Nice, France -- a truck was driven into crowds on Bastille Day, killing 86 people. • An NBC News analysis conducted along with the Global Terrorism Database, an organization that researches recent terrorist attacks, found that this pattern is relatively new. "Vehicle contact" terrorism -- in which a vehicle is not used as an explosive device but as a direct means of killing -- is on the rise. After the use of planes in the 9/11 attacks, other planes and vehicles were not immediately used in the years after to instigate similar attacks. That has now changed. Erin Miller, program manager of the Global Terrorism Database, says : "Vehicles are used in concert with other types of weapons. It might be a situation where a car drives into a crowd and then the driver gets out. Other times, the vehicle is used specifically to breach security or get past a gate. That might be a situation where it’s used in context with explosives." Vehicle attacks are occurring at high rates in Europe. Nearly as many fatalities from vehicle-contact terrorism occurred in Europe between 2014 and 2016 as occurred in the Middle East -- despite a far greater number of terrorism incidents occurring in the Middle East during that period. Few vehicle attacks had occurred in the United States -- although officials have warned of the dangers of truck-ramming terrorism in the US. Terrorism experts say the rise in vehicle attacks appears to coincide with an ISIS leader's call in September 2014 to use whatever weapons or tools, including vehicles, are available to kill "infidels." Abu Mohammed Al-Adnani, in a speech following coalition air attacks on ISIS, specifically suggested jihadis kill westerners anyway they can : "Smash his head with a rock, or slaughter him with a knife, or run him over with your car." Al-Adnani was killed in Syria in the summer of 2016. The rise in vehiucle attacks that began in 2014 coincided with two vehicle attacks that occurred in France in 2014 -- in Dijon and Nantes. The attacks caused one death and more than a dozen injuries, though recent vehicle attacks are far more lethal than those were. • Even CNN published on Tuesday a list of vehicle attacks by terrorists, updating its earlier list to include the September 30-October 1, 2017 vehicle attacks in Edmonton, Canada, a man purposely struck a police officer with a white Chevrolet Malibu before jumping out of the vehicle, stabbing the officer several times with a knife and fleeing on foot. An ISIS flag found in the car was seized as evidence. Just before midnight that same day, a police officer stopped a U-Haul truck at a checkpoint and recognized the driver's name as similar to that of the Chevrolet's registered owner. The U-Haul truck then sped off towards downtown Edmonton with police chasing it. During the chase into early Sunday, the truck deliberately attempted to hit pedestrians in crosswalks and alleys in two areas along busy Jasper Avenue, injuring at least four pedestrians. Police executed a deliberate tactical maneuver on the suspect's vehicle and then used a Taser on the suspect and arrested him. Abdulahi Hasan Sharif, 30, a Somali refugee, was later charged with five counts of attempted murder, dangerous driving, criminal flight causing bodily harm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. • • • DEAR READERS, I feel great sorrow for anyone caught in an attack, whether by arms fire or bombs or vehicles or knives. The combination of terrorists and other psychotic killers is a burden of our time that we must bear until we can understand how to eliminate both terrorism and mass murders. But, to listen to Progressive Democrats and European socialists -- even before the shooting has ended and the dead and injured are removed from the site -- yell for Americans to shred the Second Amendment and give up their right to bear arms is a travesty. They are interested only in controlling the American tradition of personal liberty and preparedness against government cabals or other insurrections. All of Europe has very strict gun control laws that make owning personal firearms almost impossible, and leaving ordinary citizens at the mercy of terrorsits and criminals -- because the terrorists still find guns and shoot Europeans in large numbers. As for the newer vehicle attacks, I have not heard even one Progressive call for the strict control or elimination of SUVs or trucks, despite the fact that vehicle terrorist attacks killed more people in 2016 and so far in 2017 than attackers using guns have. This paranoic obsession with Americans' right to bear arms is misplaced and uninformed, or it is deliberately fake hand-wringing. The Progressive Left has become a horde of shreiking harpies determined in this, as in most areas of human activity, to control everyone, and especially conservatives. Enough. We will not be subdued.

Every single time that there is a shooting someplace on this planted the Progressive all show up with the pre 9/11/2001 play book in hand. And in unionism start reading from Chapter 1 again.
ReplyDeleteThe only salvation is that with each passing shooting these activists get less and less read to us before the incident falls from page 1 (above the fold) on the teleprompter.
Maybe the new norm is no longer new or interesting to Mr. & Mrs. Smith in small town , USA any longer.
The divide in America just keeps getting wider and wider.
ReplyDeleteProgressives will always want to alter and delete sections of the Constitution. They will also always want to turn over America to the '1 world government' no matter who they are or what they public represent.
What they want is the abolishment of all elected governments and the trashing of all rights of the citizenry.
The argument is wearing thin, which also deepens the divide Bergen conservatives and socialists. If an armed confrontation with the leftists would settle the problems let's have it now and here. And then get on with Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
But if we had this great battle with evil, we'd be right back here in the matter of a few years. This Orwellian duel is not the ending scene in Act 3.
