Jim Comey Lied -- to Himself -- and America Will Pay the Price
House Speaker Paul Ryan shredded FBI Director James Comey’s recommendation that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton not be prosecuted for using a private email server to transmit classified information : "While I respect the law enforcement professionals at the FBI, this announcement defies explanation. No one should be above the law. But based upon the director's own statement, it appears damage is being done to the rule of law,” Ryan said, noting that Comey said the FBI investigation found Clinton and her State Department staff were “extremely careless” in handling sensitive, classified information but didn't ask for charges : “Declining to prosecute Secretary Clinton for recklessly mishandling and transmitting national security information will set a terrible precedent. The findings of this investigation also make clear that Secretary Clinton misled the American people when she was confronted with her criminal actions." ~~~~~ Ryan’s deputy, Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, called Clinton’s email controversy “still very troubling,” raising questions about her “judgment and actions. There is no way of knowing her servers were not breached by foreign entities because the protections were not there.” ~~~~~ Former House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith said : “If she were a Republican, she would have been indicted by now.” House member Roger Williams called it “a failure of our justice system. From the very beginning, this investigation was more about protecting Secretary Clinton’s reputation, than actually finding out the truth." ~~~~~ Senator David Vitter said the FBI announcement “essentially gives her a pass based on politics, pure and simple....voters are sick and tired of the Washington elite insiders living under a different set of rules." ~~~~~ Democrats were, for the most part, quiet. Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi have not commented. Senate Judiciary Committee ranking Democrat Patrick Leahy was one of the few voices in Congress to publicly defend Comey : “The FBI took its responsibilities seriously, and came to a conclusion after carefully reviewing all the evidence. I take Director Comey at his word..." Senator Dianne Feinstein, senior Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, praised Comey and the FBI for “a thorough and objective review." ~~~~~ One person who has not spoken is Hillary Clinton. But, two days before Comey spoke and one day after her FBI interview, Hillary simply continued to lie, telling Chuck Todd on Sunday's NBC Meet the Press : “I never received nor sent any material that was marked classified.” As Donald Trump would say, when you're Crooked Hillary, lying comes naturally. ~~~~~ What Trump did say came fast and to the point, in a tweet : “the system is rigged." ~~~~~ But, TheHill awarded its tweet of the day to President George W. Bush spokesman Ari Fleischer : "If Hillary were still Sec State, Pres O would have to fire her. But instead, he travels with her and seeks to promote her. Disgusting. — Ari Fleischer (@AriFleischer) July 5, 2016." ~~~~~ Political strategist Dick Morris was direct, telling Newsmax TV the FBI decision to not recommend criminal charges against Hillary amounted to "a corrupt bargain" so that Attorney General Loretta Lynch can keep her job if Hillary wins the presidency. Morris, who worked for the Clintons, referred to a report in the New York Times saying Clinton might extend Lynch's job. He said that this "coming after the meeting between Lynch and Bill is as close to a sales receipt on a bribe as you can imagine." ~~~~~ Dear readers, everyone is neatly arranged on the checkerboard -- except Jim Comey. While the Clinton mafia and Democrats celebrate, and Republicans try to paste together what's left of the rule of law, Comey must realize he has lied -- to himself. Comey, the one arguably honest member of the lawless Obama regime, will have many dark nights in the years ahead in which to regret that by saving Hillary from prosecution, he destroyed his own integrity, and he also may have destroyed America.

The definition of a "hero" in someone who does what is right whether anyone is watching or not.
ReplyDeleteWell we can all rest quietly now knowing proof positive that we have NO 'Heroes' in this administration or for that matter with anyone who has a "D" after their name in the entire federal Government.
We pin medals on our military heroes., and pat them on the back. We should pin a big "C" (for cowards) on the entire democratic elected caucus in Washington DC.
There is no Rule of Law left, there is only the need for Anarchy as Thomas Jefferson advocated every once in a while to keep a federal Government in tow and/or maybe use of the right to SECEDE given to states in the Constitution.
Certainly Hillary Clinton is a thief, a liar, a traitor, a basic no account person who if middle America would admit it is an humiliation to how they live their lives and make their own way, not on the government toll (as they say in England for welfare and government subsidies). She’s’ not fit to be any place close to the government either as an elected official, appointed big muck-a-di-muck.
ReplyDeleteBut still her big problem is Hillary Clinton as a presidential candidate is not that she is a corrupt and dishonest politician, as her critics have charged. No, the problem with Hillary is that she is just as big a socialist as Bernie Sanders is. “We’re going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good,” she announced to a San Francisco audience in 2004, echoing the Communist Manifesto mantra, “from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.” “We must stop thinking of the individual and start thinking about what is best for society,” she once proclaimed as First Lady. Such statements are a defining characteristic of the socialist philosophy: attacks on individualism in the name of the “common good” of “society” – always defined and enforced by politicians, never by society as a whole. And like Sanders, she threatens “the rich” with even more onerous taxes to be used to subsidize the working class (“working families” in the neo-Marxist language of one of her television ads).
A current fad among the socialists of Europe is to propose some kind of “basic” government-defined income for the entire population. Switzerland just voted down this latest money-for-nothing scheme. Naturally, Hillary is all on board with it, having proposed giving every baby born in America a $5000 account that would be invested and given to the child upon reaching the voting age of eighteen. George McGovern proposed a similar, $1000 “demogrant” in 1972, which was dismissed and ridiculed as socialistic nonsense and may well have caused him to lose the election to Richard Nixon.
Hillary Clinton can be stopped by voting for whoever runs against her in this November presidential Election. And by electing a new president, they will appoint and Attorney general and a Director of the FBI that will have the “guts” to legally go after Hillary, the Clinton Foundation, and husband Bill for his involvement in the Foundation.
When a prosecutor brings a criminal case against a defendant, say, for bank robbery, does any reasonable person believe that the prosecutor has the burden of proving the defendant was conversant with the statute forbidding bank robbery? No, he just must prove the person intended to rob the bank — an act forbidden by the law. But yet this is the illogic logic that the Director of the FBI wants use to believe was the reason he didn’t proceed to bring charges against Hillary.
ReplyDeleteBut even if we accept Comey’s bizarre redefinition of specific intent, is it conceivable, no it is factual that Clinton, with all her vast experience with classified material, was unaware that what she was doing was criminally wrong? No, Clinton specifically intended to commingle her emails — personal, private, public, classified — knowing it would put national security at grave risk.
Democrats keep saying Republicans are engaging in a partisan witch hunt — as if Republicans aren’t rightly outraged that Comey virtually admitted Clinton violated the clear language of the statute yet decided not to prosecute.
Clinton has put our national security at risk. She put us all at risk while entrusted with the high and solemn duty of safeguarding our national security, and she is closer to being rewarded for it than she is to being punished. Is it any wonder that people have wholly given up on the system?
It is a sad day for the rule of law and for the state of our national security because Comey’s decision takes the teeth out of the law and strongly weakens any deterrent force of the statute. Comey may have succeeded in convincing himself that he is ensuring that Hillary Clinton is not subject to a different standard than the ordinary citizen, but through his explanations alone, he has convinced us of the exact opposite.
America may have just been pushed over the cliff that Obama has wanted to do long before he became President. Hold on friends the ride down the cliff will get bumpier.
