President Trump Is Right to Build a Wall -- Pelosi and Schumer Don't Want One Because They Don't Care about Protecting Americans or America

SOUVENIR, SOUVENIR, AS THE FRENCH SAY. MEMORIES, MEMORIES OF NANCY WILSON who passed away yesterday at the age of 81. Nancy Wilson was the most elegant, beautiful, smooth-voiced female singing star of the 1960s and on. I loved every song she ever recorded. So, just a pause today to say farewell, Godspeed, and keep singing up there in heaven, Nancy. You can read her obituary at < https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/nancy-wilson-jazz-singer-dies/2018/12/14/id/894442/ >. • • • A BIT MORE ON GENERAL FLYNN. Here are a few more facts to complete our understanding of the perjury trap laid by the FBI under Director Comey -- despicable and illegal, as well as unconstitutional. American Thinker's Thomas Lifson pointed out in his article on the January 24, 2017, Flynn interview by the FBI two things I missed in yesterday's blog. They are sufficiently important to get them into the blog here. First, the Wall Street journal stated : "We also know from then FBI Director James Comey that this was his idea. This is 'something I probably wouldn't have done or wouldn't have gotten away with in a more organized administration,' Mr. Comey boasted on MSNBC this weekend. 'In the George W. Bush Administration or the Obama Administration, if the FBI wanted to send agents into the White House itself to interview a senior official, you would work through the White House counsel, there would be discussions and approvals and who would be there. And I thought, it's early enough let's just send a couple guys over.' If the goal was to set a legal trap, it worked." • Every day, James Comey reveals more about the lowlife he really is. • AND, Lifson noted that the delay in filing the Form 302 is totally in violation of the FBI's procedures : "Courtesy of Mark Wauck, a retired FBI agent : Full text of 'FBI Manual of Administrative Operations and Procedures (MAOP) 2007 10-13.4 Initialing Original (FD-302) and Dating. The original of an FD-302 is to be read and initialed where his/her name is typed by the reporting employee who will thus certify to the accuracy and completeness of the interview. FD-302 is to be dated in upper right corner and is to bear the date of which the typing was completed; the date of dictation is to appear on FD-302 at the lower right corner where other data is set out. If rough draft is made, the date of the rough draft shall be date of dictation. Date of dictation must be within five working days of the action.' " Lifson added : "It is hard for me to imagine a legitimate reason for filing (or revising?) the form 302 months after it was due. But I also can imagine no legitimate reason for the FBI not to record sound and video of all interviews instead of relying on the memory of its own agents." • AND, there is later news. TheHill's John Solomon reported on Friday that the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) is holding a document that can exonerate General Flynn. Solomon spoke about the existence of the document, which he said even President Trump was not aware of, in an appearance on Fox News late on Thursday. The “Hannity” panel, which included Solomon, addressed the latest developments in the case of Trump’s former national security advisor who awaits sentencing for lying to the FBI, including US District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan's order that documents related to Flynn’s FBI interview in 2017 be turned over to him, raising speculation that the case against him could be tossed out due to the circumstances surrounding Flynn’s conversations with FBI agents. BUT, it was Solomon, an award winning journalist, who dropped the bombshell : “Let me say this about Mike Flynn. In May 2017, there was a document identified to a small number of people in the United State government. It’s in the possession of the Defense Intelligence Agency. For 18 months there’s been an effort to resist declassifying that document. I know that that document contains extraordinary exculpatory information about General Flynn. I don’t believe the President has ever been told about this document. One lawmaker discovered it but he was thwarted by the Defense Intelligence Agency in his ability to disclose it.” Solomon called for an effort to be made to release the document and reveal the information contained within it, in the hopes it could “enlighten” Judge Sullivan : “I think we all should ask for that declassification. Get that out. It may enlighten the judge. It will certainly enlighten the American public.” Solomon's extraordinary revelation sparked a cry on social media to get the word out and for the document to be de-classified. • Let's push our congressional Representatives and Senators, and President Trump, to get to the bottom of this and release the document. General Flynn fully deserves our complete and active support. • • • WHY BOTHER, SENATOR BURR?? This Newsmax article about Senator Burr's Intelligence Committee referring witnesses who lie to special counsel Robert Mueller is downright stupifying. Why bother, indeed. Senator Burr said his Committee has made "quite a few referrals" to special counsel Mueller of cases where witnesses were suspected of lying to the panel during its Russia probe. In a Thursday interview with TheHill, Burr said there will likely will be more referrals as well. "We've made quite a few referrals," Burr told TheHill, "I won't get into the numbers, but where we have found criminality, we have made those referrals, and I'm sure that they're not the last." • Earth to Senator Burr -- who sadly is a Republican, and even more sadly, doesn't seem to read anything, even the stuff his own Committee is producing -- if Burr thinks that any witness who lied to his Committee will be chastised by Mueller & Gang, he is wrong. They are more likely to commend the liars for protecting the corruption rampant in the Obama administration as it sought to prevent the duly elected US President Trump from taking office or following his American-voter-blessed agenda. • • • THE OVAL OFFICE MEETING. You know the one -- where President Trump cornered Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer while media cameras and tape recorders rolled. • American Thinker's Anna Stark said on Friday that the President "called their bluff." Of course, the media were quick to call it a win for the Democrat Twiddle Dumb and Tweedle Dee. But, the reality belonged totally to President Trump. Here's how Anna Stark described the meeting : "Much has been said about President Trump's recent meeting at the White House with presumptive House majority leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer. While Pelosi talks a good game about the need for transparency in government, she balked at the idea of the media broadcasting her visit to the Oval Office. When the media cameras failed to leave after the obligatory pleasantries, she remarked, 'I don't think we should have a debate in front of the American people.' After a second failed request to meet in private, Pelosi remarked, 'Let's call a halt to this. We have come in here...in good faith to negotiate with you about how we can keep the government open.' It's clear to even the casual observer that Speaker Pelosi doesn't want the American public to see or hear her defending the Democrats' desire to flood the country with illegals, in addition to thwarting President Trump's campaign promise to build a wall. Pelosi's request to have a debate in private, behind closed doors and beyond the hearing of the American people, doesn't indicate she's willing to discuss anything in good faith, much less in a transparent manner. As a matter of fact, she was downright uncomfortable, and for good reason. First of all, President Trump is a world-class debater. He wasn't about to be lectured to by Nancy Pelosi, nor let her set the meeting agenda. Furthermore, Pelosi must have realized rather quickly that President Trump's intention was to not only control the course of the discussion in front of the cameras, but also to draw both her and Chuck Schumer into a conversation, in which the two Democrat leaders would be forced to admit they advocate for open borders, unfettered illegal immigration, and dismissing border security. Not exactly a troika of policy platitudes supported by the American people, nor in the economic best interest of the United States." • Stark concluded : "President Trump hasn't dismissed his promise to build the wall and is willing to accept full responsibility to shut down the government in order to get funding. It was, as they say in hockey, a hat trick -- three goals in quick succession. In plain speak, both Pelosi and Schumer were cleverly outmaneuvered, given that Trump has learned the game play of his opponents, turned their notorious strategy back on them, and then called their bluff. Maybe that explains Chuck Schumer's slouched posture during the meeting, head bent down, looking at his shoes, while Pelosi squirmed on the couch, prattling incoherently. The President is not going to compromise. Pelosi's post-meeting posturing and name-calling is par for the course. Not willing to admit that she was tremendously upstaged, she resorted to insults." • It's interesting that Pelosi and Schumer's loss wasn't even alluded to later by the same media that was there recording the shellacking they took from the President. As Stark says : "Unlike most politicians, who make a plethora of unobtainable and, in some cases, downright ridiculous campaign promises, President Trump is actually following through. After all, that's what his supporters elected him to do, and his business acumen is all about getting things done. Much to the chagrin of even the most virulent Trump-hater, the list of Trump's accomplishments is long, from the vastly improved economy and lowered unemployment rate to foreign trade policy favoring the United States to increased security and military defense spending, not to mention rolling back Obama's multitude of red-tape regulations and executive orders. And if shutting down the government in order to get Congress to pass funding for the border wall is the only tactic the Democrats understand, so be it." • • • WHY DO DEMOCRATS NOT WANT TO PROTECT AMERICANS?Thousands of American families have undoubtedly lost children and family members to illegal aliens in a variety of horrific ways. But, in the Oval Office meeting, both Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer effectively told America that they don't care about Americans or their losses to illegals. Why would they do that? Perhaps the real answer is that they simply don't care. What they care about is keeping their cushy jobs and titles and perks and they need Democrat votes to do that. And, difficult as it is to accept, the base of the Democrat Party has moved so far to the Progressive-Globalist Left that they have become radicalized ideologues who don't care about Americans either. What they care about is keeping the Pelosi-Schumer farce alive so that they and their radical friends can feel smugly superior to President Trump and his Deplorables. • It is a match made, not in Heaven, but in Hell. And, President Trump knows just how thoroughly hellish the visions of Pelosi and Schumer and their elected Democrat storm-troopers are. They spout "transparency" and "we're the good guys" while they plot insurrection against the elected President and fight openly to reject any of his proposals that would stem the tide of illegal immigrants who become Democrat voters -- legally or by voter fraud. They prefer illegals over American citizens because illegals vote for them. AND, on Tuesday, President Trump had them for breakfast. It was glorious to behold. Their efforts afterward to save themselves at media microphones was a lesson in spin gone wrong. Pelosi's toilet humor was embarrassing : "When you get into a tinkle contest with a skunk, you get tinkle all over you." We could call her performance sophomoric nonsense, but most sophomores would have done better. • PELOSI actually fundraised off the Oval Office meeting, sending a fundraising email letter out on Thursday : "After President Trump just threatened to shut down the government over his immoral border wall, tried to blame a shutdown on our Democrats, and continues to mislead the American people, I'm fighting back with a vengeance -- and personally triple-matching all Democratic Membership renewals until midnight to make sure we stop him and his Republicans' disastrous shutdown." TheHill says she has received membership renewals from 62,748 Democrats so far -- dare we ask where a member of Congress gets that kind of money??? • The truth is that Democrats -- all Democrats -- want Trump to be a failure so badly that they miss his many amazing successes that are making America -- the country they were elected to support -- great again. Now that they have won the House majority, we can count on Pelosi to lead an Armageddon-like battle to destroy President Trump -- are you happy, #NeverTrumpers and RINOs?? Really happy to see America threatened with a future that is Progressive-Globalist-socialist-marxist??? Was your mid-term spitting on the shoes of a man who loves America but who will not put up with your elitist antics worth rolling the dice on America? REALLY??? • • • THE WALL WOULD STOP FENTANYL AND OTHER DRUGS. American Thinker's J. Marsolo wrote on Friday that : "The wall would significantly stop the flow of illegal drugs through the Mexican border to the USA, which would reduce the supply of illegal drugs that cause addiction and deaths by overdose. The Democrats and media support spending money to deal with the effects of drugs smuggled across the border but refuse to spend money to stop the smuggling. There is no doubt that illegal drugs and most heroin come across the Mexican border. And now we have fentanyl, a synthetic opioid that is 80-100 times stronger than morphine. According to the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), '[c]landestinely-produced fentanyl is primarily manufactured in Mexico.' The Mexican cartels are producing fentanyl and also receive it from China to smuggle it to the USA. It is very profitable for the cartels. In 2017, more than 72,000 Americans died from drug overdoses, with at least 30,000 attributed to fentanyl." • President Trump has called for a border wall not only to stop illegal immigration but also to reduce the flow of illegal drugs, such as heroin and fentanyl. But, the Democrats refuse to fund the border wall. WHY? Dare we suggest that voters who are drug addicts don't notice how their absentee ballots are filled out or who takes them by harvesting ? Would that be just too cynical? I'm not at all sure. • President Trump is asking for only $5 billion. It is estimated that $27 to $40 billion is needed to fully fund the wall. Marsolo says : "It is time to fully fund the border wall. The Trump Shutdown should focus on the record number of Americans who die due to drugs smuggled from Mexico. The focus should be on the Democrats and media that ignore the danger to Americans. This debate should be coupled with the number of violent crimes committed by illegal aliens. Democrats and their media will quibble about the exact number of violent crimes committed by illegal aliens. But the point is that such crimes are avoidable if the border is secured." • Consider this -- Iran is the principal state sponsor and supporter of terrorism, and has vowed to destroy Israel and America. The Democrats and their media supported giving $150 billion to Iran, but they refuse to spend more than $1.5 billion to protect Americans. As Marsolo states : "The bottom line is that the Dems and their media do not care about the security and safety of Americans." • • • PRESIDENT TRUMP HAS A FRIEND IN SENATOR GRAHAM. Newsmax reported on Wednesday that : "Senator Lindsey Graham praised President Donald Trump for his contentious Oval Office meeting with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. His comments came during a Tuesday interview on “The Story with Martha MacCallum” on Fox News....Graham lashed out against Democrats for their 'liberal arrogance'.....'It’s not a manhood thing,' Graham said. 'It’s a national security thing. The President is right. This liberal arrogance has to come to an end. Nancy Pelosi said : ‘I would never put DACA associated with the wall.' Well, we did that in February, so this idea that the President needs to back down, doesn't make sense to me. He needs to dig in, and get the very Democrats who voted for $25 billion, to give him $5 (billion) because we need the money more than ever.' And he added : 'What signal are we sending to the world if we reduce funding for border security in light of increased threats?' ” • Amen, Senator Graham. • • • WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE CARAVANS? American Thinker's Monica Showalter wrote on Thursday that : "Surely, the caravan migrants who were promised easy entry and free stuff in America are frustrated. They are, after all, being asked to take a number and get to the back of the line on their asylum claims. The sweetener is that they can live and work in the US for about two or three years, free and clear, earning money, before a court rejects their cost-free asylum claims and sends them back home. Many migrants knew this, based on interviews with caravan migrants in the past two months, and that was their game all along. But, then there are the others, the ones who really did expect to get something for free from Uncle Sam. Here's the latest from that element of the group, as reported by the San Diego Union-Tribune : 'Two groups of Central American migrants made separate marches on the US Consulate in Tijuana Tuesday, demanding that they be processed through the asylum system more quickly and in greater numbers, that deportations be halted and that President Trump either let them into the country or pay them $50,000 each to go home. On the one-month anniversary of their arrival into Tijuana, caravan members are pressing the United States to take action but they are dwindling in numbers since more than 6,000 first arrived to the city's shelters. The 'reparations' are for the US's role in supposedly messing up their country, as if Hondurans were incapable of doing such a thing on their own. Not a lot of confidence in their countrymen's capacities, it seems. And not a lot of criticism for the far-left organizers who led them down this garden path, only to leave them with nothing. In fact, based on the kind of demands being posted on Pueblo Sin Fronteras' website, the demands have the look of having been crafted from those quarters. Apparently, the caravan has descended into irrelevance. As they pack up; seek jobs in Mexico; or slip through to the US, possibly with the aid of cartel human smugglers, migrants have told the press that the Pueblo organizers are nowhere to be found. Well, now they are, and they've marshaled their forces to call on Uncle Sam to hand them money. Lots of money, $50,000 a head. Not out of mercy, but out of a debt owed. Or a payment to go away. And to raise the political project to the front and center once again....Any questions as to why the Tijuana residents were so turned off by the migrants' sense of entitlement that they organized protests of their own? What leaps out here is the outrageousness of the demands, which is a typical tactic of the most extremist elements of the left. Terrorists are famous for making crazy demands, but so are other kinds of radicals and mau-mauers. It's a signature tactic of the left : the louder and crazier the demand, the more likely it is to turn up in the news....The caravan organizers are banking on Americans being so revolted by illegal immigration that the US will just shell out for them and pay them big bucks to go away. They see how payouts work in America, and they'd like those even better than the privilege of living in America.' One can only hope that the sorry truth about this group and its political project are duly noted." • The other side of that coin was expressed by American Thinker's Anna Stark : "The migrant caravan fiasco couldn't have occurred at a more opportune time. If the goal of the caravan sponsors was to embarrass President Trump, they failed spectacularly. The American public isn't in favor of throwing open the border to thousands of uneducated, unskilled, and largely unemployable military-age young men despite the best efforts of a disingenuous MSM, attempting to portray the migrant mobs as displaced women with kids, fleeing violence in their home countries. Whether or not the government will shut down in the next couple of weeks remains to be seen. If Pelosi and Schumer thought their White House meeting with President Trump was an opportunity to outsmart the President, they thought wrong. Donald Trump has said from day one he's working in the best interest of the American people, and apparently, he intends to build the wall." • • • DEAR READERS, while Pelosi and Schumer clamor about "transparency" but slam the door on protecting Americans, President Trump is single-mindedly going about the business of protecting Americans and Making America Great Again. However, he did take time out of his border wall fight to remind the mainstream media who is actually in charge of America. President Trump canceled the White House holiday party for the media. The annual Christmas Season gathering was a significant perk for those covering the White House, as well as other Washington reporters, anchors and commentators, and New York media executives would regularly fly in for the occasion. At its peak, the invitation-only soirees grew so large that there were two back-to-back events, one for broadcast outlets and one for print organizations. Journalists who attended the events, which featured a catered buffet of lamb chops, crab claws and elaborate desserts, got to roam the decorated mansion with a spouse or other family member, a friend or a colleague, adding to the invitation's allure. The biggest fringe-benefit was the picture-taking sessions, in which the President and first lady would patiently pose with guests and briefly chat with them in front of a Christmas tree, with the White House sending the photos to the lucky journalists, who invariably sent copies home to mom. The photo-op would take a couple of hours, with long lines snaking across the White House's first floor. Bill Clinton even posed for pictures with journalists days after he was impeached. President and Mrs. Trump held a holiday party for the media last December but didn't pose for pictures. The President made a brief appearance with the First Lady and offered a few welcoming remarks. While eliminating the media party, the White House is hosting other parties this holiday season. Selected media people generally favorable to Trump, including a few Fox News hosts, have made those guest lists. Seems like an excellent idea to keep the media at bay -- they would only attack the red Christmas trees and find petty fault with Melania's dress or accent. Who needs the ProgDem media messing up the White House Christmas?
