We Need a Brawler Attorney General, not Gentleman Jeff Sessions, to Put Up His Dukes and Fight the ProgDem Swamp Creatures on Their Own Turf

THERE IS LOTS OF NEWS TODAY. Let's cover the key topics. • • • FOLLOW-UP ON THE MIDDLE EAST AND THE PALESTINIANS. The Gatestone Instutute published late on Monday a paper titled "The US Middle East Peace Plan?" written by Bassam Tawil, a Moslem analyst based in the region. Tawil reviews the situation in Saudi Arabia and with the Palestinians in relation to the latest rumors about a new US peace plan being drafted. The entire paper is at < https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/11353/middle-east-peace-plan > • Tawil says : "No American or European on the face of this earth could force a Palestinian leader to sign a peace treaty with Israel that would be rejected by an overwhelming majority of his people. Trump's 'ultimate solution' may result in some Arab countries signing peace treaties with Israel. These countries anyway have no real conflict with Israel....The question remains: how will the Saudis and the rest of the international community respond to ongoing Palestinian rejectionism and intransigence?" • The idea in Tawil's paper is that the Palestinians, as he so rightly puts it, "never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity." Tawil says that while the Palestinians have respect for Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Arab countries and for the money of their Arab brethren, "they lack respect for the heads of the Arab states, and the regimes and royal families there." Tawil says this is key to understanding "the growing talk about Saudi Arabia's effort to help the Trump administration market a comprehensive peace plan for the Middle East, the details of which remain a mystery. • What we know is that last week, the Saudis unexpectedly summoned Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to Riyadh for talks on Trump's "ultimate solution" for the Israeli-Arab conflict, reportedly being promoted by Jared Kushner. According to unconfirmed reports, the Saudis pressured Abbas to endorse the Trump Administration's "peace plan." Abbas was reportedly told that he had no choice but to accept the plan or resign. At this stage, it remains unclear how Abbas responded to the Saudi "ultimatum." If true, says Tawil, the Saudi "ultimatum" to Abbas is tantamount to "asking him to sign his death warrant," because Abbas cannot afford to be seen by his people as being in collusion with an American "peace plan" that does not comply completely with their demands. • And, we note that those demands are all stoppers to any peace negotiations, let alone peace. As Tawil puts it : "Abbas has repeatedly made it clear that he will not accept anything less than a sovereign Palestinian state on all the pre-1967 lands, including east Jerusalem. He has also emphasized that the Palestinians will never give up the "right of return" for millions of "refugees" to their former homes inside Israel. Moreover, Abbas has clarified that the Palestinians will not accept the presence of any Israeli in their future Palestinian state." • And, the Moon is made of green cheese. • The sad truth behind Tawil's analysis is that Palestinians have been radicalized to the point that they will not agree to any concessions or compromise with Israel. Why? Because, says Tawil : "Abbas and other Palestinian leaders, who continue unendingly to tell their people through the media, discourse and mosques that any concession to Israel constitutes treason, pure and simple. So it would be naïve to think that Saudi Arabia or any other Arab country would be able to strong-arm any Palestinian leader to accept a 'peace plan' that requires the Palestinians to make concessions to Israel. Abbas may have much respect for the ambitious and savvy young crown prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman. This respect, however, certainly stops at the border of the political suicide -- and extreme personal risk -- from Abbas's point of view." • What are Abbas's choices? According to Tawil, "Abbas is now caught between two choices, both disastrous: On the one hand, he needs the political backing of his Arab brothers. This is the most he can expect from the Arab countries, most of whom do not give the Palestinians a penny. It is worth noting that, by and large, the Arab countries discarded the Palestinians after the PLO and Yasser Arafat openly supported Saddam Hussein's invasion of Kuwait in 1990. Kuwait was one of several Gulf countries that used to provide the Palestinians with billions of dollars a year. No more. Since then, the Palestinians have been almost entirely dependent on American and European financial aid. It is safe to assume, then, that the US and EU have more leverage with the Palestinians than most Arab countries. Nevertheless, no American or European on the face of this Earth could force a Palestinian leader to sign a peace treaty with Israel that would be rejected by an overwhelming majority of his people." • But, as Tawil says : "Why should there not be peace between Israel and Kuwait? Why should there not be peace between Israel and Oman? Do any of the Arab countries have a territorial dispute with Israel? The only 'problem' the Arab countries have with Israel is the one concerning the Palestinians." • If political behavior equates to political reality, says Tawil : "the vast majority of Arab leaders no longer care about the Palestinians and their leaders, and the Palestinians despise the Arab leaders as much as they despise each other. It is a mutual feeling. The Palestinians particularly despise any Arab leader who is aligned with the US. They do not consider the US an honest broker in the Israeli-Arab conflict. The Palestinians, in fact, view the US as being 'biased' in favor of Israel, regardless of whether the man sitting in the Oval Office is a Democrat or Republican. The Saudi crown prince is viewed by Palestinians as a US ally. His close relations with Jared Kushner are seen with suspicion not only by Palestinians, but by many other Arabs as well....They are skeptical that the plan would meet the demands of the Palestinians." • What is the "solution"? If the Palestinians appear to be united in rejecting the Trump Administration's effort to "impose" a solution on them, if they are convinced that America, with the help of Saudi Arabia and some Arab countries, are working towards "liquidating" the Palestinian cause, then Abbas and his Hamas rivals will have to reject the Trump administration's "peace plan." Tawil calls the Palestinians "lemmings drawn to the sea...marching towards yet another scenario where they "never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity." • Will America, the Saudis and the rest of the international community respond to ongoing Palestinian rejectionism and intransigence by catering to them as if they were infants not able to fully understand the real world? Or, will the part of the world not participating in the anti-Israel theatre of the absurd at the UN finally insist, as a condition for continuing to support the UN, that it place restrictions on anti-Israel sentiment and actions, and require the Palestinians to come to the table as a condition of continuing support for them, financial as well as political. • • • HAS DONNA BRAZILE HAD HER 15 MINUTES IN THE SUN? Last week, InfoWars wrote that the "old guard globalist world order is collapsing, starting with the Clintons." Surprisingly, the article was not just about American politics. It said : "The Clinton and Bush era of the last 30 years is about to come to an end in light of the sudden Saudi Arabian purge of Clinton and Bush allies." • That is a surprise because Brazile’s book primarily contains bombshells about US politics that are the fodder for the mainstream media in its effort to support Hillary against all Brazile charges, including that "Hillary Clinton did in fact rig the 2016 primary against Bernie Sanders, and that Brazile felt like a 'slave' who feared for her life following the murder of DNC staffer Seth Rich. 'That means that Brazile knew Rich had been murdered for political purposes,' says insider Roger Stone, adding that Julian Assange of WikiLeaks confirmed his sources were not Russian, and were in 'great physical danger.' " • So, Brazile decided to turn on Hillary and the DNC -- perhaps out of spite for being tossed into outer darkness after sacrificing her already tarnished integrity in order to pass 2016 presidential debate questions on to Hillary. That is the US politics-as-usual story. • BUT, another significant development tied to Clinton’s continuing downfall is the sudden purge of corrupt royalty in Saudi Arabia by King Salman, including ten princes and 38 senior cabinet members. InfoWars says : "It’s worth noting that Saudi Arabia accounted for 20% of the Clinton campaign’s funding in 2016. Among the royals arrested was billionaire and Clinton Foundation donor Al-Waleed bin Talal, best known for picking a fight with Trump on Twitter during the 2016 Presidential Election. Trump, being a counterpuncher, hit back in kind. It’s also well-known that the Bush and Clinton family are closely tied to each other, as G. W. Bush has referred to Bill Clinton as “a brother from another mother,” and they’ve worked together for years on initiatives like the Presidential Leadership Scholars program." InfoWars says : "The Bush family has also had a close relationship with Saudi Arabia going back decades. Former Saudi Ambassador Prince Bandar was known as “Bandar Bush” due to his longtime friendship with George W. Bush. The former President even helped Bandar get out the US days after 9/11. 'After he met on September 13, 2001, with President Bush in the White House, where the two old family friends shared cigars on the Truman Balcony, the FBI evacuated dozens of Saudi officials from multiple cities, including at least one Osama bin Laden family member on the terror watch list,' reported the New York Post last year. 'Instead of interrogating the Saudis, FBI agents acted as security escorts for them, even though it was known at the time that 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudi citizens.' Saudi Arabia’s purge of pro-Clinton royalty like bin Talal is more evidence that the old guard establishment is finished with the Clinton/Bush machine because their brand of globalism is failing." • It is also an undeniable piece of evidence that the Saudis hated Barack Obama and his pro-Iran policies and are eager to join hands with President Trump and his pro-Arab, pro-Saudi Middle East administration. • • • THE FBI BEGINS TO COOPERATE WITH CONGRESS ON HILLARY ISSUES. TheHill reports that, after a year of stonewalling : "The FBI has begun turning over to Senate investigators hundreds of pages of memos regarding the bureau's probe into Hillary Clinton's private email server." Sources told TheHill that the Justice Department notified the Senate Judiciary Committee recently and that "the FBI began transmitting memos soon after to assist Congress in its review of former Director James Comey's handling of the Clinton email case." • The memos are purported to detail how and when FBI leaders declined to pursue criminal charges against Clinton for transmitting classified information on her private email server as Secretary of State, an investigation that has remained controversial since the 2016 presidential campaign. The Senate Judiciary Committee has been seeking the memos as it investigates whether Comey chose to absolve Clinton of criminal liability before the election-year probe was complete and before she was even interviewed. Comey ultimately concluded in July 2016 that while Clinton's handling of classified emails was "extremely careless," there was not enough evidence of intent to warrant criminal charges. Then, the FBI re-opened the email case in late October 2016, shocking the political world because it was so close to election day, after a new trove of emails were found on an associate's computer. Comey then announced a second time he did not plan to pursue criminal charges, an act that occurred just days before Clinton lost to Trump in the election. The FBI's handling was vehemently criticized by both Clinton and Trump, and was one of the reasons cited when Trump fired Comey as FBI director earlier this year. Clinton has also blamed Comey in part for her loss in the election. • So, the new documents being transmitted to the Senate Judiciary Committee will hopefully to shed light on how the FBI made those decisions, who was involved and whether the decision to clear Clinton was made before she was even interviewed by FBI agents in spring 2016. • The document release seems to be part of new FBI Director Chris Wray's attempt to build his own relationship with Congress. • BUT, says InfoWars : "The release came hours after the new documents came to light in a federal lawsuit showing exactly when FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe recused himself from the Clinton email investigation, which was codenamed 'Mid Year.' McCabe was forced to step aside due to questions about a possible conflict of interest involving hundreds of thousands of dollars of money that flowed to his wife's political campaign from a Clinton ally. Those documents, released under a FOIA lawsuit to the conservative group Judicial Watch, show McCabe did not recuse himself from the long-running investigation until November 1, 2016, just six days before the probe was officially ended and eight days before Donald Trump was elected president over Clinton." By the time McCabe recused himself, he had supervised the case for months after becoming deputy director of the FBI in February 2016. According to InfoWars : "The decision followed newspaper articles that specifically questioned whether he had a conflict of interest because his wife Jill's 2015 Virginia state Senate campaign had accepted nearly $700,000 from Clinton ally and Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe. Documents obtained under Virginia Open Records law show McCabe attended a March 2015 meeting with his wife and McAuliffe to secure the governor's support for her campaign, and the money flowed after that." • However, the FBI still owes documents to the House Intelligence Committee, which asked for them last May -- and subpoenaed them on August 24, 2017. InfoWars says that House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes wrote to Attorney General Jeff Sessions September 1, 2017, "reminding him of the subpoenas served by the committee : 'in his capacity as head of the Department of Justice ('DOJ') and the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation ('FBI') for production of documents relevant to the Committee's ongoing investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election, including allegations of collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians." The letter concluded with the warning that failure to provide the subpoenaed documents could result in a House resolution holding the attorney general and FBI director in contempt. • Recently, news has emerged about the so-called 'Trump Russia Dossier,' including the fact that it was apparently commissioned by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee, but the FBI as yet has failed to explain its connection with the Dossier and its possible use for anti-Trump purposes by means of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court and Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA). It has been widely reported that the FBI, under director Comey, considered paying Steele $50,000 for his anti-Trump dossier. • We know the MSM will not be headlining this news about a politicized FBI that is becoming a serious threat to America's democratic institutions. Attorney General Sessions must act to ensure compliance with the House subpoenas. • • • THE DEMOCRAT RUSSIA WEB. A thus-far-reliable source who used to be involved with Clinton allies John and Tony Podesta recently told Fox News's Tucker Carlson that press reports appearing to implicate President Trump in Russian collusion are exaggerated. The source, who Carlson said he would not yet name, said he worked for the brothers' Podesta Group and was privy to some information from Robert Mueller's special investigation. While media reports describe former "Black, Manafort & Stone" principal Paul Manafort as Trump's main tie to the investigation, the source said it is Manafort's role as a liaison between Russia and the Podesta Group that is drawing the scrutiny. The source said the Podesta Group was in regular contact with Manafort while Hillary Clinton was America's chief diplomat. During this time, the Uranium One deal was being facilitated by the White House. According to Carlson, "Manafort was clear that Russia wanted to cultivate ties to Hillary" because she appeared to be the presumptive 45th President. • There is more to this story than the Obama-legacy MSM has been reporting, including John Podesta’s dealings with Russia and Hillary and the Democratic Party’s collusion with Ukraine to bury the Team Trump in Fake News. John Podesta is the whizkid whose password was found to be “password” in the Russian hacking investigation and he may have violated federal disclosure laws for not disclosing that he was paid to sit on the board of various Russian entities. American Thinker wrote : "Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, John Podesta, may have violated federal law when he failed to fully disclose details surrounding his membership on the executive board of Joule Unlimited and the '75,000 common shares' he received. The energy company accepted millions from a Vladimir Putin-connected Russian government fund. Podesta joined the executive board of Joule Unlimited Technologies -- a firm partly financed by Putin’s Russia -- in June 2011 and received 100,000 shares of stock options, according to an email uncovered by WikiLeaks. Podesta’s membership on the board of directors of Joule Unlimited was first revealed in research from Breitbart News Senior editor-at-large and Government Accountability Institute (GAI) President Peter Schweizer. Podesta never disclosed his position on Joule Unlimited’s board of directors and failed to include the stock payout in his federal financial disclosures, as required by law, before he became President Obama’s senior advisor in January 2014 -- a possible violation for federal law....John Podesta’s dealings with Russia warrant serious and immediate Congressional inquiry as well as the Podesta Group’s dealings with Ukraine. It is Podesta, not Paul Manafort, that colluded with foreign governments to enrich themselves while colluding to derail Team Trump." • During a heated Fox Business interview with Maria Bartiromo, John Podesta made a series of misleading statements when questioned about his involvement in Joule Unlimited, which received $35 million from the Russian government while Clinton served as Secretary of State. The Fox interview focused on these facts : "On January 18, 2011, a small green-energy company named Joule Unlimited announced Podesta’s appointment to its board. Months later, Rusnano, a Kremlin-backed investment fund founded by Vladimir Putin, pumped $35 million into Joule. Serving alongside Podesta on Joule’s board were senior Russian official Anatoly Chubais and oligarch Ruben Vardanyan, who has been appointed by Putin to a Russian economic modernization council…WikiLeaks documents reveal that when he joined the Obama White House, Podesta transferred his Joule shares to an LLC controlled by his adult children. He also resumed communicating with Joule and Joule investors after leaving the White House and joining Clinton’s campaign…There’s also this awkward fact : In 2016, Russia’s largest bank, Sberbank, where Joule board member Reuben Vardanyan formerly served as head of its investment banking division, had a $170,000 lobbying contract with the Podesta Group -- which is owned by John Podesta’s brother, Tony Podesta." • Politico reported in a story that was ignored at the time : "Ukrainian government officials tried to help Hillary Clinton and undermine Trump by publicly questioning his fitness for office. They also disseminated documents implicating a top Trump aide in corruption and suggested they were investigating the matter, only to back away after the election. And they helped Clinton’s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisors, a Politico investigation found. A Ukrainian-American operative who was consulting for the Democratic National Committee met with top officials in the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington in an effort to expose ties between Trump, top campaign aide Paul Manafort and Russia, according to people with direct knowledge of the situation. The Ukrainian efforts had an impact in the race, helping to force Manafort’s resignation and advancing the narrative that Trump’s campaign was deeply connected to Ukraine’s foe to the east, Russia....Here you have a meeting between a DNC operative in a foreign embassy receiving materials used to defame and derail the Trump campaign. This meeting had real consequences..." • Indicting Manafort while the Podestas and Team Clinton are free after their real and treasonous collusion with Ukraine and Russia in the Uranium One scandal would be a scandal itself. • AND, now we learn that US District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson last week issues a 'gag order' that prohibits any remarks that “pose a substantial likelihood of material prejudice to [the Manafort] case.” At a hearing last week, Jackson urged lawyers to make their arguments in court and “not on the courthouse steps.” She also appeared to criticize a statement one of Manafort’s lawyers made outside court calling the charges against his client “ridiculous.” Judge Jackson apparently wants to limit comments and statements as a way “to safeguard defendants’ rights to a fair trial, and to ensure that the court has the ability to seat a jury that has not been tainted by pretrial publicity.” • • • DEAR READERS, finally a word of support for Attorney General Sessions, whom I have often criticized for being ineffective in his job. He testified before the House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday and did an admirable job of fending off ProgDem attempts to catch him up in what they called "prior lies." I often think that what Jeff Sessions does best is testifying before Congress. He proved it again this week. • TheHill wrote : "Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Tuesday pushed back on the immediate need for a second special counsel to investigate former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. It would take 'a factual basis that meets the standard of a special counsel' for the Justice Department to make such an appointment, he said during a heated exchange with Representative Jim Jordan of Ohio at a Tuesday House Judiciary Committee meeting." Sessions said : "We will use the proper standards and that’s the only thing I can tell you, Mr. Jordan. You can have your idea but sometimes we have to study what the facts are and to evaluate whether it meets the standards it requires." • TheHill called Jordan's questioning "a fiery case for allegations of improper spying on the Trump campaign by the Obama administration Department of Justice that widely was touted among Capitol Hill Republicans. 'We know one fact. We know the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee paid for the dossier,' he said. 'And it sure looks like the FBI was paying the author of that document and it sure looks like a major political party was working with the federal government to then turn an opposition research document -- the equivalent of some National Enquirer story -- into an intelligence document to take that to the FISA Court so they could then get a warrant to spy on President Trump’s campaign,' Jordan said. 'That’s what it looks like and I’m asking you, in addition to all the things we know about James Comey in 2016, doesn’t that warrant naming a second special counsel?' he said." • Sessions at first hedged, noting that Comey is no longer the director of the FBI and praising the current director, Chris Wray. But pressed further by Jordan -- "He's not here today, Attorney General Sessions, and you are" -- Sessions then threw cold water on the immediate need for a special counsel : "I would say 'looks like' is not enough basis to appoint a special counsel." • BUT, Sessions is widely reported to be considering naming a special counsel to lead an investigation into a list of matters involving former Secretary of State Clinton. Late last month, the House Judiciary and the House Oversight and Government Reform Committees announced that they will jointly look into the FBI’s probe into Clinton’s private server and her handling of classified documents. Meanwhile, the House Intelligence Committee will probe the sale of a Canada-based company with control over some US uranium to a Russian firm when Clinton was Secretary of State, after The Hill reported that the FBI was investigating a bribery scheme at the time of the "Uranium One deal." • While Attorney General Sessions was preparing to testify, two White House officials reportedly floated the idea of replacing beleaguered Alabama GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore with AG Sessions, according to the New York Times. Sessions held the Alabama Senate seat before he was appointed to AG and could take it again if Alabama Governor Kay Ivey were to immediately appoint him when it becomes vacant again -- if Moore wins and the Senate refuses to seat him. ABC News' Tara Palmeri says that Sessions is not interested in reclaiming his old seat, saying, "this is wishful thinking by people who probably don't even know Jeff Sessions, and certainly haven't spoken to him." • AND, the Washington Examiner published an article on Monday with the title "GOP lawmakers to Sessions : Prosecute Hillary or resign." The Washington Examiner reported : “Two House Republicans delivered an ultimatum Monday to Attorney General Jeff Sessions, telling him either to name a special counsel to investigate FBI Director James Comey’s handling of last year’s election, or else resign to clear the way for someone who will. Representatives Jim Jordan of Ohio and Matt Gaetz of Florida said questions are piling up over the way Mr. Comey conducted the investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s secret emails and the FBI’s treatment of an anti-Trump dossier. ‘It’s time for Jeff Sessions to name a Special Counsel and get answers for the American people. If not, he should step down,’ the congressmen said in a piece for FoxNews.com.” • And there, dear readers, we have the Jeff Sessions dilemma in a nutshell. He is an astute and intensely careful lawyer. He is articulate when dealing with legal issues, and especially when he is speaking to his former colleagues on Capitom Hill. But, he lacks the instincts of the bar room brawler who goes after the jugular of his opponents. I have said it before, and I will say it again -- Jeff Sessions is a fine American and loyal Trump supporter -- but he is misplaced in the Justice Department. Sessions' refined legal arguments and devotion to the upholding of the spirit of fair play inherent in American jurisprudence are recipes for defeat when the opponents are a cabal of quasi-criminals intent on bringing down the US Constitution and the rule of law. We need a "Brawler" like Rudy Giuliani or Chris Christie as Attorney General. Give Jeff Sessions his Alabama Senate seat. That is where he can do the most good for the largest number of conservative Americans. And, find an Attorney General who will put up his dukes and fight the ProgDem Swamp Creatures on their own turf. Jeff Sessions is too much of a gentleman for the job.
