9/11 : Lest We Forget the Destiny of 21st Century America

SEPTEMBER 11, 2001. LEST WE FORGET. • President George W. Bush's address to the Nation on September 11, 2001 : "Good evening. Today, our fellow citizens, our way of life, our very freedom came under attack in a series of deliberate and deadly terrorist acts. The victims were in airplanes or in their offices: secretaries, business men and women, military and federal workers, moms and dads, friends and neighbors. Thousands of lives were suddenly ended by evil, despicable acts of terror. The pictures of airplanes flying into buildings, fires burning, huge -- huge structures collapsing have filled us with disbelief, terrible sadness, and a quiet, unyielding anger. These acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our nation into chaos and retreat. But they have failed. Our country is strong. A great people has been moved to defend a great nation. Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve. America was targeted for attack because we're the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world. And no one will keep that light from shining. Today, our nation saw evil -- the very worst of human nature -- and we responded with the best of America. With the daring of our rescue workers, with the caring for strangers and neighbors who came to give blood and help in any way they could. Immediately following the first attack, I implemented our government's emergency response plans. Our military is powerful, and it's prepared. Our emergency teams are working in New York City and Washington D.C. to help with local rescue efforts. Our first priority is to get help to those who have been injured, and to take every precaution to protect our citizens at home and around the world from further attacks. The functions of our government continue without interruption. Federal agencies in Washington which had to be evacuated today are reopening for essential personnel tonight and will be open for business tomorrow. Our financial institutions remain strong, and the American economy will be open for business as well. The search is underway for those who were behind these evil acts. I have directed the full resources of our intelligence and law enforcement communities to find those responsible and to bring them to justice. We will make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbor them. I appreciate so very much the members of Congress who have joined me in strongly condemning these attacks. And on behalf of the American people, I thank the many world leaders who have called to offer their condolences and assistance. America and our friends and allies join with all those who want peace and security in the world, and we stand together to win the war against terrorism. Tonight, I ask for your prayers for all those who grieve, for the children whose worlds have been shattered, for all whose sense of safety and security has been threatened. And I pray they will be comforted by a Power greater than any of us, spoken through the ages in Psalm 23 : 'Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil for you are with me.' This is a day when all Americans from every walk of life unite in our resolve for justice and peace. America has stood down enemies before, and we will do so this time. None of us will ever forget this day, yet we go forward to defend freedom and all that is good and just in our world. Thank you. Good night. And God bless America." • Lest we forget that America received many warnings that a clash between Islam and the West was coming, with tragedies like the bombing of the Marine barracks in Lebanon and the US Embassy in Kenya and the suicide bombing attack on the USS Cole. • Lest we forget February 26, 1993, when Ramzi Ahmed Yousef, master bomb-designer, detonated a bomb under the World Trade Center, on orders from al-Qaida's Blind Sheikh, that carved out a stories-deep crater, injured a thousand people, and killed six. • Lest we forget that since 9/11, at least thirteen Islamic-inspired terrorist attacks have been carried out across America, by Moslems following Mohammed's "perfect" example -- the Boston Bombing; the D.C. sniper murders; and the shootings at the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle, San Bernadino, Chattanooga, Orlando, and several others. There have been numerous attacks by Moslems that the MSM refuses to call "terrorism," and there have been scores of terror plots and attempted terrorist acts foiled by US authorities. • Lest we forget that the 19 Moslem terrorists were able to attack America on September 11, 2001, because they were trained and funded by Wahhabi imams and members of the Saudi royal family, as revealed by the 9/11 Commission Report, and also helped by shiite Moslems in the Islamic Republic of Iran. • Lest we forget that Islam is at war with Western civilization, Europe, and America, just as Islam fought the West under the Ottoman Empire, or a thousand years ago. • Lest we forget that the US intelligence community acknowledges that al-Qaida and ISIS have had recent, limited, success in acquiring chemical weapons, like anthrax, VX nerve agents, and ricin. More dangerous, they seek nuclear weapons, and are not unlikely to eventually get their hands on them, given Iran's, Pakistan's, North Korea's and Saudi Arabia's duplicity and self-serving roles in the "war on terror." • Lest we forget that President George W. Bush's Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who was then national security advisor, repeatedly stated : "if you were in the White House that day...every day since has been September twelfth. And your great fear is that it may be September tenth." • Lest we forget that in his book The Field of Fight, former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency Michael Flynn -- gratuitously and unreasonably 'disgraced' by the MSM and Progressives --wrote : "We're in a world war, but very few Americans recognize it, and fewer still have any idea how to win it." • We never forget that we, as Americans, always have the images of the unimaginable calamity of September 11 seared into our minds and hearts. We flinch every time we see a photo of the Trade Center. Tears fill our eyes as we see those towers explode into billows of smoke and flames. We never forget the lives so brutally snuffed out, the children who lost mothers and fathers, and the depths of inhumanity to which these Islamic terrorists are willing to sink. As we ring the bells, read the names, and honor our dead on September 11, 2017, we cannot forget that America must gather the strength and courage to stop Islam's violent ascendancy and expansion, at home and abroad, by driving their "holy warriors" out of the world -- killing them, and even killing their patrons, until they grow weary of death and make war no more, or until the last one is dead. • Lest we forget -- that is our destiny as 21st century Americans.
