Obama's Legacy of Lies and Trump's Effort to Do Clean-up Duty in America and Around the World

It's interesting how often the Progressive Democrats and media begin witch hunts on President Trump and his team only to end up with the revelations being about their own ProgDem leaders, Barack Obama and team. • • • RUSSIA-TRUMP INVESTIGATION AND THE CLINTONS. For example, American Thinker published a report on Monday by Fred Lucas, White House correspondent for the Heritage Foundation's Daily Signal, that reveals the feelings of Americans about the Russia investigation. Congress and the FBI are investigating possible Team trump-Russian connections, but so far, as this blog keeps hammering away at, there is No Evidence of any such ties. Even former Obama administration officials James Clapper and Michael Morell -- both staunch Barack and Hillary mouthpieces -- said there was no evidence of any collusion. But, there was at least one crime committed -- somebody obtained and leaked General Michael Flynn’s talk with the Russian ambassador, and the leak that was probably a crime. While the Rice controversy grows, GOP Representative Pete King says the unmasked information resembles a private investigator’s divorce case file rather than any national security information -- thus, making it look more and more like Obama White House political espionage carried out by using national security investigative regulations -- also very likely a crime. Meanwhile, reports Lucas, if the public gets its way, the investigation will expand into Hillary Clinton. A Rasmussen poll finds that while 50% of likely voters support Congress investigating ties between the Trump campaign and Russia, 52% believe that Bill and Hillary Clinton’s private dealings with Russia should be part of any FBI and congressional investigation of Trump and Russia. We already know there were links through the Clinton Foundation and the Uranium One deal that gave Russia 20% of all US uranium holdings. • Critics of General Flynn have without evidence accused him and President Trump of being soft on Vladimir Putin and Russia and cite Flynn’s conversation with the Russian ambassador as proof. Congressional Democrats want a full investigation. Yet they were silent when Bill and Hillary Clinton brokered deals giving Russia and Putin 20% of the US uranium supply in deals that benefitted Clinton Foundation donors, including Canadian billionaire Frank Giustra. So, says Sobieski, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Bill, in exchange for donations, gave nuclear power Russia and Putin control of 20% of the world’s uranium supply. • Where is the outrage from Democrats, who accuse Trump and Flynn of being too cozy with Moscow and puppets for Putin? Where is the ProgDem/Clinton/Obama lapdog mainstream media? Why are they not talking about the Clinton uranium deals with Russia. They are more curious about an illegally released transcript of an illegally monitored conversation. Congress should Investigate Hillary Clinton’s collusion with the Russians, not Michael Flynn -- Americans polled by Rasmussen agree. • • • AND WHAT ABOUT OBAMA / RICE AND ASSAD'S CHEMICAL WEAPONS? This weekend there was confirmation from UN investigators that the gas used to kill dozens of Syrian civilians in Idlib province last week was sarin -- a weapon that President Obama and his administration assured us did not exist in Syria's arsenal following the deal with the Russians that supposedly removed "100%" of Syria's chemical stockpiles. • Was a naive Obama fooled by President Putin and Bashar Assad? Or was the Obama administration aware that they were lying when they boasted that Syria had no chemical weapons? Evidence suggests hey knew. Sean Keeley of The American Interest quotes National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster when he spoke to reporters following the US strike : "...there were also measures put in place to avoid hitting what we believe is a storage of sarin gas, so that that would not be ignited and cause a hazard to civilians or anyone else." Keeley points out the obvious and cites other evidence of the Obama administration's knowledge that their "empty boasts" about getting rid of al-Assad's chemical weapons was false : "If this strike was arranged to avoid hitting sarin storage facilities, the question arises: did the Obama Administration know that such depots still existed after its “historic” deal that supposedly removed all Syria’s chemical weapons?" • In Congressional testimony last February, Obama Director of National Intelligence James Clapper acknowledged “gaps and inconsistencies in Syria’s declaration,” validating reports that Syria was still hiding banned chemicals at undisclosed locations. And in January of this year, the Obama Treasury quietly introduced new sanctions against Syrian officials involved in chemical warfare. Keeley points out that buried in the language sanctioning a particular official was a telling admission : “As of 2016, Abbas [the Syrian official] has continued operating at locations in Syria associated with chemical warfare-related missions.” Keeley's conclusion : "Whether or not the Obama Administration knew of this particular sarin facility, then, they clearly knew that Syrians were still clinging to their stockpiles at several locations. They knew...that Obama’s deal to remove chemical weapons was not a historic diplomatic triumph but an unenforcable sham that the Syrians and Russians never intended to comply with. Meanwhile, the Obama administration looked the American people in the eye and lied. • And, the Daily Caller called out Secretary of State John Kerry and Susan Rice : "Former Secretary of State John Kerry stated in 2014 that the Obama administration 'got 100 percent of the declared chemical weapons out of Syria.' Former National Security Advisor Susan Rice commented in January that the President and his team were 'able to get the Syrian government to voluntarily and verifiably give up its chemical weapons stockpile.' " At the time, fact-checking site Poltifact reported that the administration’s comments were “mostly true;” however, it has since re-evaluated its assessment : “Either Syria never fulling complied with its 2013 promise to reveal all of its chemical weapons; or it did, but then converted otherwise non-lethal chemicals to military uses.” Politifact cites converting "non-lethal chemicals" into weapons : "That may have been true with chlorine gas, that President Assad employed several times over the last 3 years. But there are no dual uses for sarin gas, which has been banned by several chemical weapons treatires." • When Susan Rice claimed just a few months ago that the al-Assad regime “voluntarily and verifiably” gave up its chemical weapons stockpile, the Washington Post was also satisfied that she was telling the truth. But, on Monday, Rice got a full sanction from the WP in the wake of last week’s chemical attack. The Washington Post fact-checker gave former National Security Advisor Rice a rating of “four Pinocchios” -- the worst rating on their truth scale. The WP wrote : “The reality is that there were continued chemical-weapons attacks by Syria.” So, the Washington Post had to join fact-checker PolitiFact in retracting its “mostly true” rating for a 2014 claim from then-Secretary of State John Kerry that “100 percent” of those weapons were removed from Syria. Rice’s claim was more recent than Kerry's. In January, she told NPR that the Obama administration was able to “find a solution” on Syria that didn’t require the use of force -- and still dealt with the chemical weapons threat, using diplomacy : “We were able to get the Syrian government to voluntarily and verifiably give up its chemical weapons stockpile." • Last week’s sarin attack that killed dozens prompted President Trump to launch missiles against the airbase suspected of being used to carry out the attack. Rice’s comments about the 2013 agreement to purge the Assad regime’s chemical weapons quickly were called into question, along with the claims of other Obama officials. The Washington Post noted : “the Obama administration had a tendency to oversell what was accomplished, perhaps because Obama received so much criticism for not following through on an attack if Syria crossed what Obama had called ‘a red line.’ The reality is that there were continued chemical-weapons attacks by Syria -- and that US and international officials had good evidence that Syria had not been completely forthcoming in its declaration and possibly retained sarin and VX nerve agent." Citing Rice’s exact words, the WP fact-check column ruled : “She did not explain that Syria’s declaration was believed to be incomplete and thus was not fully verified -- and that the Syrian government still attacked citizens with chemical weapons not covered by the 2013 agreement. That tipped her wordsmithing toward a Four.” • This aspect of the Obama administration has never been highlighted by anyone except conservative media. • So, why was the MSM not doing its journalistic homework on Obama and Rice? Why did it take a sarin gas attack that killed 87 Syrians AFTER Obama left office for the MSM to wake up and do its job?? The ProgDem mainstream media just doesn't seem interested in the fact that Obama used his "triumph" of "soft power" to remove Assad's chemical stockpiles as a demonstration of his superior wisdom while it actually revealed him to be a naive fool -- or worse. • • • OBAMA'S FAWNING MEDIA PROTECTED HIM. There is ample evidence that the mainstream media has never fact-checked anything Barack Obama said or did, while President or before. • We may say that it now makes no difference, but there is still no uncontrovertable proof that Obama was born in Hawaii or anywhere else in the United States. And -- there is no serious journalistic discussion about whether he held or holds an Indonesian passport, or about whether he was admitted to Harvard as a "foreign" student. His academic records and papers are sealed. His billing records as a 'lawyer' are sealed. We do not even know if he ever actively practiced Islam, the religion of his father, and therefore his religion for life according to Islam law, or whether he renounced it, something impossible under Islam; or whether he was ever baptised a Christian. His daughters, by reason of Islam law, should be Moslem. We don't know if they are, or whether they were declared Moslem on their birth certificates because we have never seen them. Were they baptised as Christians? In most cases, this would be of no importance to Americans if disclosed, but because it is shrouded in silence and sealed documents, it begs the question : Who is Barack Obama? His life before 2008 remains a virtual blank page. This is neither normal nor reassuring in someone who has held the Office of the Presidency. • American Thinker published on Monday a piece called "The Rotten Obama Record -- and Legacy" by David Prentice. In it, Prentice writes : "The Obama phenomenon had a complex side, but the most complex and nefarious part was the unwillingness of the mainstream media to criticize, or bring up any hint of wrongdoing on his part. From the beginning, our media created an image for him, never actually delving into his background, his beliefs, or his life in any way. Unlike the quest to find out Trump’s tax returns, the media never sought to reveal who or what Obama was." • The media's extreme Obama bias is all well-understood now by the majority of American voters, who bolted to Donald Trump because they were frightened of a "Mystery Man" as President and dismayed by his seeming un-American outlook on every issue he touched. As Prentice states : "There is a very dark underbelly to this fawning: Obama himself. Here was a radical leftist who had accomplished nothing in his entire life. His success in politics was being elected, being black, and being able to convincingly read a teleprompter. He had no brilliant bills he authored, no success in his work or political history, yet there he was being spoken of by our media as the finest example of intelligence, acumen, and moral clarity our country had produced in a century. They also never reported this truth : He was a hard leftist radical." • • • THE DISASTROUS OBAMA LEGACY. The fawning media attention, the repetition of his every phrase as Holy Scripture, the unending bashing and attempt to destroy anyone who dared disagree with him -- these denied to the American people the truth about the Obama presidency. He was a disaster. The story of the disaster will be told by history, but, he left behind a current disaster for America and the world to deal with. • President Trump’s tweet about “wiretapping” probably began the trickle that has become a river, leaving the media with few options -- either do their job and report what they knew and hid about Barack Obama or continue to feed the lie. Sadly, American journalism has fallen so low that it seems unable any longer to dig for and report facts -- the media has become in reality the propaganda arm for Progressive Democrat, globalist, Soros-led, Obama-fronted socialism. But, history, says Prentice, "will show" Trump's wiretap accusation to be "the beginning of the end of St. Barack." • Trump has taken a lot of heat for that tweet -- the most scurious being that there are no longer such things as "wiretaps." But, we know what Trump meant, even if the MSM ridiculed us because they believe we are the idiots, not they, themselves. The truth is emerging -- there are now major revelations of wrongdoing, often described as "abuse of power," perhaps to keep the media from calling it by its real name -- criminality on a large gangland-type scale. Conservative writers have said that Obama was manipulating the federal government and its executive department bureaucracies, but they were shunted off as "far-right loonies." The truth is that Barack Obama used the federal government as a weapon to deliberately bludgeon and destroy his enemies. Obama's unprecedented use of the federal government to spy on the opposition party and its members within the US makes us see, says Prentice, that "Nixon was a piker, a little leaguer, a nothingburger. This trickle that has become a stream is about to become a torrent." • The Obama list of wrongdoing is monumental -- “Fast and Furious”; whitewashing Hillary Clinton's criminal treatment of clasified information; IRS targeting of conservative groups and individuals, then admitting it happened, but so far with nobody in prison; NSA spying on ordinary Americans, sweeping up data from all their phone calls, texts and computer searches; and “wiretapping” Angela Merkel, the Queen, and other foreign leaders. And, Benghazi -- what more can be said unless and until somebody actually tells America why their Ambassador and three security personnel were left to be slaughtered in a jihadist terrorist attack while Obama and Hillary slept and Susan Rice prepared to lie about it. • That is a legacy that would put most people in prison for life, along with their accomplices. Where was the media? Where was Congress? Why was Solyndra excused? Who thought of Americans instead of Obama's legacy when Pelosi and Reid shoved Obamacare down America's throat? Why was Obama allowed to pander America's values to Iran and Cuba? Why did Hillary avoid prison for violating classified information law? • Prentice summarizes it well : "This oozing scandal of spying on the Trump circle is being found out in spite of the media effort to spike it. More people will find out as the facts emerge, it is too big to hide. Obama and Susan Rice’s actions are too bizarre to bury. Wikileaks was not covered by the media, yet half of America knew about it. This is far bigger than Wikileaks revelations. As the information streams forth about Obama’s wrongful spying, only hardcore true believers will stand with him. Eventually, the rest of his actions will be scrutinized. This will take time, likely years. The facts will shine a devastating light on his Presidency, and his legacy : It will be far worse than Nixon....He and his media enablers just don’t know it. Yet." • • • DEAR READERS, the mainstream media have now decided to protect Susan Rice. That Barack Obama’s chief intelligence officer was guilty of “unmasking” Trump campaign team members identified in intelligence findings swept up while listening to foreigners brought the media close to meltdown. The clearest media refusal to deal with the reality of Obama political spying was CNN's Don Lemon, a person whom I will not call a journalist. Lemon said : “Let us be very clear about this. There is no evidence whatsoever that the Trump team was spied on illegally. There is no evidence that backs up the President’s original claim. And on this program tonight, we will not insult your intelligence by pretending otherwise, nor will we aid and abet the people who are trying to misinform you [with] a diversion.” • That, dear readers, is not journalism. It is not even decent discussion. It is an outright lie meant to hide another lie. The chain of media lies goes all the way back to 2008 when Obama said he was repudiating the Reverend Jeremiah Wright. The same chain of lies and liars is not even trying to hide the fact that Obama and Rice knew there was sarin gas stored in Syria even while they were touting Russia and al-Assad for "removing all chemical weapons." A recent headline from Reuters stated : "US intelligence agencies suspect Assad did not turn over all chemical weapons stockpile." The recent chemical attack in Syria makes that declaration little more than stating the obvious. A senior US official told Fox News the United States has concluded that Russia knew in advance of Syria's chemical weapons attack last week. The official says a Russian-operated drone flew over a hospital in Syria as victims of the attack were rushing to get treatment. Hours after the drone left, a Russian-made fighter jet bombed the hospital in what American officials believe was an attempt to cover up the usage of chemical weapons. Until Monday, US officials had said they weren't sure if the drone was operated by Russia or Syria. The senior official said it still isn't clear who was flying the jet that bombed the hospital. The official said the presence of the drone couldn't have been a coincidence, and that Russia must have known the chemical weapons attack was coming and that victims were seeking treatment. • But, there is evidence that these and many more facts are now taking center stage. President Trump has put his considerable persona and the weight of his uniquely powerful office behind telling the truth to America and the world -- even when they do not want to hear it. And, at the same time, he is winning in Washington -- the swamp he vowed to drain. The results? We now have a ninth Supreme Court Justice Gorsuch who, if history is any predictor, will give the Court a conservative majority. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has emerged as the powerful Trump ally sorely needed in Congress. The Arab Middle East is thanking Trump and quietly pointing out Obama's weaknesses. Obama’s surveillance of his political opponents is being revealed piece by piece, Obama advisor by advisor, detailing political weaponization of NSA information that began as early as 2015 when the Obama administration spied on private conversations between US lawmakers and American-Jewish groups opposed to the Iran nuclear deal. The Tablet says : “ 'At some point, the administration weaponized the NSA’s legitimate monitoring of communications of foreign officials to stay one step ahead of domestic political opponents,' says a pro-Israel political operative who was deeply involved in the day-to-day fight over the Iran Deal. 'The NSA’s collections of foreigners became a means of gathering real-time intelligence on Americans engaged in perfectly legitimate political activism -- activism, due to the nature of the issue, that naturally involved conversations with foreigners. We began to notice the White House was responding immediately, sometimes within 24 hours, to specific conversations we were having. At first, we thought it was a coincidence being amplified by our own paranoia. After a while, it simply became our working assumption that we were being spied on.' ” • Clarice Feldman writes : "This is what the systematic abuse of foreign-intelligence collection for domestic political purposes looks like -- intelligence collected on Americans, lawmakers, and figures in the pro-Israel community was fed back to the Obama White House as part of its political operations....which it then used to draw up its own game plan to block and freeze those on the other side. With the help of some journalists whose stories and careers depend on high-level access, [these Americans and others were, in effect,] terrorized....To make its case for the Iran Deal, the Obama administration redefined America’s pro-Israel community as agents of Israel. They did something similar with Trump and the Russians -- whereby every Russian with money was defined as an agent of the state. Where the Israeli ambassador once was poison, now the Russian ambassador is the kiss of death -- a phone call with him led to Flynn’s departure from the White House and a meeting with him landed Attorney General Jeff Sessions in hot water." Feldman says : "Obama’s former national security advisor Susan Rice admitted what she had previously denied, that she had in fact “unmasked” the identities of persons gathered by NSA, reports which on his way out Obama had widely distributed. This week we learned from those who viewed these reports that they were detailed and contained personal information about their lives that had nothing whatsoever to do with national intelligence." • As former CIA station chief Scott Uehlinger charged, Obama turned the intelligence community into “a tool of political destruction” : "Like some binary poisonous reagent, these dynamics combined to foster an environment ripe for political abuse and leakage -- a fairly transparent attempt, from the point of view of any discerning intelligence officer. This weaponization of intelligence for the sake of discrediting the political opposition I have seen in Kosovo, Azerbaijan, Moldova and elsewhere -- sadly, it is now on our shores." • The press which had for so long been peddling the Trump-is-in-collusion-with-Putin story -- so preposterous that even leftists Stephen F. Cohen and Noam Chomsky ridiculed it -- turned 180 degrees and suggested Trump's action in striking the Assad airbase would lead to war with Russia. Do not believe it. There may be sabre rattling. There may be ships playing tag. There may be acrimonious words at the UN. There may even be skirmishes on a local scale sent as messages about territorial presumptions. • But, the UK, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Japan, Israel, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Poland approved publicly of the strike. So did Democrats Dick Durbin, Ben Cardin, Chuck Schumer, Elizabeth Warren, and Nancy Pelosi. Only Russia, Syria, Iran, Hezbollah, and Bolivia opposed it. China and Sweden made statements that hedged. Among the more odd responses, Iraqi Shiite cleric Moqtada Sadr called on Assad to resign, and MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell called it a “false flag” operation, planned by President Trump and Vladimir Putin to help Trump prove he isn’t pro-Russian -- surely the most bizarre analysis thus far. • The Russian response was an angry announcement that they were tearing up the deconfliction agreement with the US in Syria -- but they quickly decided not to do that. Then, they reported that the Syrian planes had already flown from the base, so the US attack had been a failure. Not so. Photos from the UK Daily Mail clearly show that hangars, fuel storage, airplanes, and service buildings were destroyed, confirming the Pentagon assessment. An Israeli report indicated that 58 of 59 Tomahawks hit their targets. The strike was a success. • President Trump is taking some risks. Every military or political action entails risk, and attacking an ally of Russia and Iran obviously does. But just last week Russia offered only a half-hearted defense of its client Bashar al-Assad in Pravda, perhaps suggesting a way forward for the US and Russia. President Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview that “unconditional support is not possible in this current world.” But he added that “it is not correct to say that Moscow can convince Mr. Assad to do whatever is wanted in Moscow. This is totally wrong." Secretary of State Tillerson’s coming visit to Moscow provides an opportunity to search for solutions, although the Kremlin announced on Monday that Purin will not meet with Tillerson in Moscow, leaving that duty entirely with Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov. Iran and North Korea are potentially harmful wild cards that the US and its allies will have to be prepared to deal with. But, Trump's strike did several things. It reduced the likelihood of a missile with a chemical payload being aimed at Israel. And, Syria may feel constrained not to transfer further chemical weapons knowhow to Hezbollah for use against Israel. Further military action against the Syrian regime by the US could be forced by al-Assad's choices, but the mission Trump gave to his military -- a proportionate and appropriate punishment for an international war crime -- has been accomplished. Perhaps, as one writer said, the Trump administration could make just one more statement : The Syrian Ministry of Defense is next, if necessary. Your call, Assad. • It is a tough, unpredictable and dangerous world, but global reactions to President Trump's strike suggest that the world just got a little safer, if only by reason of a firm and determined hand at the helm.
