The Progressive War on Trump Could Lead America and the World to a Doomsday Scenario

This weekend we learned that Attorney General Jeff Sessions has asked the remaining 46 US attorneys who served under the Obama administration to resign. The Justice Department announced the move on Friday, describing it as part of an effort to ensure a "uniform transition." The DOJ said 46 the US attorneys who are nominated by and serve at the pleasure of the President, already had left the department, which is the normal transition pattern. And to continue the transition, a DOJ spokeswoman said : "the Attorney General has now asked the remaining 46 presidentially appointed US Attorneys to tender their resignations. Until the new US Attorneys are confirmed, the dedicated career prosecutors in our US Attorney’s Offices will continue the great work of the Department in investigating, prosecuting, and deterring the most violent offenders." Department of Justice spokesperson Peter Carr told Fox News on Friday : “The President called Dana Boente and Rod Rosenstein tonight to inform them that he has declined to accept their resignation, and they will remain in their current positions.” Rod Rosenstein of Maryland, appointed by President Bush, remained on the job for the entire Obama administration and is the current nominee for deputy attorney general. But, US Attorney for the Southern District of New York Preet Bharara, appointed by then-President Barack Obama and assumed the role of Manhattan US Attorney in 2009, who met with Trump in November and said after the meeting that he had agreed to stay on, has been fired by the President after refusing to resign. It is customary, though not automatic, for the country's 93 US attorneys to leave their positions once a new President is in office. Incoming administrations over the past several decades typically have replaced most US attorneys during the first year or two. • Of course, the Democrat leadership is not happy with the Trump/Sessions move --- they never are. Senator Dianne Feinstein, the ranking Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, issued a statement late Friday saying : “I’m surprised to hear that President Trump and Attorney General Sessions have abruptly fired all 46 remaining US attorneys. In January, I met with Vice President Pence and White House Counsel Donald McGahn and asked specifically whether all US attorneys would be fired at once. Mr. McGahn told me that the transition would be done in an orderly fashion to preserve continuity. Clearly this is not the case. I’m very concerned about the effect of this sudden and unexpected decision on federal law enforcement." • Perhaps Senator Feinstein should review the treatment President Trump and AG Sessions have received at the hands of her and the other Progressive Democrat vipers in Congress. It might make her realize how dangerous it is for President Trump to keep anyone who was an Obama appointee. • This is just the latest and possibly the mildest ProgDem attack on President Trump. • • • THE PROGRESSIVE WAR ON TRUMP. The ProgDem attacks on President Trump and the Republican administration now in power is really a civil war. The vulgar attacks, often punctuated by violent protests and obscene language, are an indication of the continuing deep split in American society. Although approximately 53% of Americans broadly favor Trump -- and on some issues such as immigration and Obamacare the support rises to 60% or more -- the force that bound Americans togerther when the Founders created the United States under the Constitution is fragmented almost beyond repair. George Washington wrote in 1796 that with slight shades of difference, Americans “have the same religion, manners, habits and political principles.” This is now far from true. Trump began his presidency with fights in the Senate because Democrats were trying to keep his administration from taking control and governing, with Democrat boycotts of his inauguration, with protest marches often paid for by George Soros to create the impression that Trump is an invalid President who should be impeached, and with ProgDem efforts to cripple Trump's border control and immigration vetting by calling him racist, xenophobic and illegitimate. American Thinker asked in January : "What do Americans of the Left and the Right have in common? Its answer was "Nothing -- except hate for each other." • • • THE CONSTITUTION'S SOCIAL COMPACT IS BROKEN. There is no longer agreement that a federal government restrained by enumerated powers with states left free to manage their own citizens' affairs is the right foundation for America. Progressives have been placed in federal courts to serve the idea that abortion, same sex marriage, trans-toilets, open borders, the elimination of Christian values in favor of socialist dogma that eliminates religious principle and installs statist control of every aspect of citizens' lives. Free speech, the right to bear arms, the right to openly be a Christian, the citizen control of government at every level, and the majority's right to decide what its government does have been almost completely swept away. Preferential treatment for minorities -- blacks, hispanics, transgenders, illegal immigrants -- has been installed by Progressive courts that see the Constitution as a guideline to be rewritten at will, and the Fourteenth Amendment, written to give civil rights to freed blacks, as the tool to tramp on the majority in order to create a voting block of minorities chained to the Progressive state by ever-expanding entitlements paid for by the browbeaten majority. • • • POLITICAL DIALOGUE AND COMPROMISE ARE GONE. The Founders established a federal system, under which a small set of national powers would be agreed to by everybody, and state governments would have wide discretion to create policies suited to their local cultures. It was a philosophy based on personal liberties and responsibilities. But, federalism is now a failing structure. The Progressive Left has used the Constitution to defeat both the Founders' vision and the very Constitution they use to gain power even as they label it obsolete -- first slavery, then busing, then affirmative action, abortion, gay rights, and on and on -- have eroded the sense of what America is and who Americans are. Now that Trump is President and the Progressive Democrats no longer control the corridors and tools of fedral power, they are furious, panicked and in the streets and in Congress trying to destroy Trump and the Founders' Constitution he and his supporters -- who are the majority -- represent. Dialogue has been replaced by street brawls and violent attacks on conservatives. Compromise by elected officials has become an unending series of ProgDem cries for impeachment and criminal investigations. This stalemate suggests a future of greater street violence and a deliberate effort to destroy the Constitution and the Republic by the Progressive Democrat minority. Progressives, led by Barack Obama and financed by George Soros, have no constitutional scruples to restrain them. As we saw in Saturday's blog, they operate from radical leftist rules created by Saul Alinsky and adapted by Soros's Indivisibles and Obama's Organization for America (OFA). They regard themselves as so morally superior, so elitist, that their ends always justify their means. As American thinker put it : "But the present situation is untenable. The nation is like a car careening down the road, with two people fighting over the wheel. One pulls the car left, the other swerves back to the right. Sooner or later, a crash is inevitable." • • • DEAR READERS, this is a Doomsday scenario, I know. But, all of us ought to be aware that it could happen -- that the United States could descend so far into division between Progressives and conservatives that street violence and "civil war" become possibilities. The Progressive Democrat thirst for power and control of America's vast wealth and world power is voracious. They have already destroyed the mainstream media, turning it into a propaganda arm that is much like that of Germany in the 1930s or Stalinist Soviet Russia. Searching for facts and reporting them has given way to finding something to say that supports the Progressive agenda, and twisting facts to fit. And we should remember that many Americans get their only news through the MSM. That should be a frightening thought for every American. Their MSM propagandists vilify Trump and all of us who support him. They lie about every action President Trump takes and cut off those who try to correct their lies. Their lawyers intend to clog the courts with so many lawsuits and other legal tactics that the Trump administration is prevented from achieving anything. They jam airports, block highways, and reject police authority. These Progressive socialists are determined to prevent Trump from succeeding economically and socially. Their virulent attacks stem from their fear that he will succeed and that this will shrink their base and destroy their Progressive movement. We must not give up or give in. We cannot become discouraged by the drumbeat of MSM propaganda or the talking heads telling us Trump is illegitimate and unfit to be President. • One sign of Trump's vision and intelligent leadership came Friday when he named Jon Huntsman as Ambassador to Russia. Huntsman is a true conservative, a former governor of Utah, and a skilled diplomat who was a successful Ambassador to China. Huntsman understands the monumental stresses of being the American envoy to a large country antagonistic to America and her values. The MSM covered this announcement very cursorily because it points out President Trump's wisdom and understanding of the world he operates in. • Don't give up in this critical time -- for America and her citizens -- and for the world.
