France in Mali vs the US in Egypt and Syria

I could not help but make the comparison today as I watched the French evening news. There was French President Francois Hollande in Bamako, the capital of Mali, being received as their hero, the man and the country who had liberated them from the barbaric embrace of the jihadists and given back to them their freedom. Hollande was welcomed by the entire city, dressed in their traditional colorful printed dresses and shirts, waving, shouting Vive la France and literally dancing in the streets as Hollande and his foreign minister walked along toward the stage. A stage where Mali President Troare welcomed Hollande with some of the most loving words one can offer in French : "Vous etes chez vous." You are at home. Hollande said the French military will stay in Mali until African forces are fully capable of guaranteeing its safety. That tumultously joyful scene of victory for freedom mingled in my mind with the once again bloody streets of Cairo. Two years after they fought and died for freedom, Egyptians must do it all over again. The Mosri Brotherhood regime has become a police state with a kangeroo court kind of constitution to ensure their continuation in power. Ordinary Egyptians say they did not die to be trapped in another dictatorship. The 'organized' opposition has joined their street shouts for a trial for Mosri and the Brotherhood. One has to wonder what would have been the outcome in Egypt if the US had moved as swiftly as President Hollande to help people in danger crying out for help. But President Obama and his Secretary of State Hillary Clinton waited and watched until the Brotherhood won both the street battles and the election. Those of us who called out for America to take an active role in forming the presidency and constitution of Mosri and the Brotherhood were again brushed aside by Obama's and Clinton's positioning thay they could not intervene in the domestic affairs of Egypt. Much as they are now criticizing Russia for saying vis-a-vis Syria. Where was the difference in outcome between the Obama-Clinton and Russian policies?. Both Syria and Egypt are being shredded by civil war. What a difference we see in France's instinctive intervention in the name of liberty and fraternity to save brothers and sisters in danger. Truly we can say Vive la France!

  1. The "Free World" i.e. the US of A screwed both of those up. Congrats to Hollande and to France.

  2. The difference here is that the US was never in Egypt or Syria...not physical and certainly not mentally or operating behind the scene. And not "LEADING FROM BEHIND"either. We were in the stands with everyone else watching events unfold. The whole time waiting for that magical moment when Mrs. Clinton would rush off the Middle East, to the side of the eventual winner ... and bingo that was going to be who we supported all along. And Obama would douse them with foreign aide dollars and various other sundries.

But again the underhanded games that Obama & Clinton wanted to play didn't work out as those two mental giants of International diplomacy and military action had convinced each other it would.

And France with deceive actions of President Hollande gets the accolades and photo ops that Obama & Clinton thought was theirs via their great plans of deception.

    Vive la France
